It's time to shine your samurai sword and cock your gat because Deadly Class is coming to Syfy. Taking place during the 1980s, Deadly Class is about a group of misfit teens recruited to serve as lethal assassins. If haven't read the comic book, and are wondering what to expect from the show, thinkBreakfast Club directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Just Say Yes To Sex, Violence, Drugs, and Punk Music

Deadly Class is the brainchild of Rick Remender and is currently being published by Image Comics. I like to think of Image Comics as the new "House Of Ideas" because they are willing to take risks and publish almost anything, no matter how unique it is.

A story about a secret group of underground teenage assassins fueled by sex, drugs, and punk music is definitely original, and that's what's appealing about Deadly Class — it's unlike anything else out there.

It's time to button up your fly and jump into the back issues, bitches.

Right now, the comic book is up to issue #31, and man-oh-man has it been a wild ride since jump. And just when you think you know what's going on, Rick drops a huge plot twist on you so big it makes you soil your pants.

Since the comic doesn't have a voluminous library of issues to read, you'll be able to get caught up on the story before the show hits, unless you're a really slow reader. So what are you waiting for? Get to your local comic shop and start diving into their back issues looking for everything you missed. Who knows? Maybe you'll even find Issue #1, which should be worth some coin once the show takes off.

Lights, Camera, Casting

On Rick's Twitter account (@Remender), he broke the news that the majority of casting has been completed for the show. Comic book movie goers probably recognized Lana Condor due to her portrayal of Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse. And Teen Wolf fans probably caught sight of Benjamin Wadsworth, who plays Alec in the MTV show.

Fans are losing their minds out over the news that Henry Rollins (Sons Of Anarchy) is set to play Jürgen Denke and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) will be Master Lin. Fans are calling the casting of Henry Rollins "the most Remender thing ever" and Rick is loving every minute of it.

I have to admit, I didn't expect an actor like Benedict Wong to get involved; however, it makes sense since The Russo Brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War) signed on to be the executive producers of the show.

What To Expect From The Show

A Panel from 'Deadly Class' by Wes Craig & Jordie Bellaire [Credit: Image Comics]

Deadly Class is a multi-layered story that delves deep into the struggles of being a teenage outsider. The main character, Marcus (Benjamin Wadsworth), is a homeless kid that is trying to find his way when he is rescued by Saya (Lana Condor), a member of an elite underground academy for teenage assassins.

The academy is run by the strict Master Lin (Benedict Wong) that is dedicated to turning the children of parents that run mafias, gangs, clans, etc., into the best assassins of the world. As you can imagine, most of the kids have got something to prove, and things go south for certain students that are competing to be at the top of the class.

Although Marcus is running from a troubled past, like most of the kids, his catches up to him, which causes some of his classmates to lend a hand and others to turn against him. What follows is a violent bloodbath as Marcus fights for his life, and those he loves.

Keep an eye out for a release date for the show. I guarantee you that you won't want to miss it.
