Spider-Man MCU Villain Fancast!

Which actors should play the unseen villains?

The Marvel cinematic universe has already done a very good job casting Spider-Man villains. However, if the rumours about 3 more Spider-Man films played by Tom Holland are true, there are still many classic spidey villains that have still to be featured. These iconic characters require some amazing actors to portray them when they finally come to battle Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

This list is going to be the top 5 villains that haven't been in the MCU yet and the actors which I think best fit each individual role. As they have been rumoured to be in Spider-Man 3 I will not be including Doc Ock or Electro.

5. Sandman - Dominic Purcell

Sandman is a character that shows up a lot in Spider-Man's life, he has shown up in the comics over the years, in the animated TV shows and in the Toby Maguire trilogy. He is a classic villain and would be an amazing challenge for the MCU Spider-Man.

Dominic Purcell is mine and many other peoples first choice. He has the bulky and rough look that most incarnations of the character have. He has also played a comic villain before when he portrayed Heat Wave in the DC show Legends of Tomorrow. I think he could play the character wonderfully and would really bring a new life to the role.

4. Kraven the Hunter - Jason Momoa

Kraven is a villain that most people forget about. Unless you read the comics or watch the old animated TV shows you might not know him. He was a part of the original comic sinister six and had one of the most famous Spider-Man comic runs "Kraven's last Hunt". He is one of Spider-Mans most feared villains and thoroughly deserves a shot in the films.

This character deserves a very talented actor to play him, and that man should be Jason Momoa. There is not much I need to say about Jason, he was fantastic in Game of Thrones. Not to mention being the DCEU Aquaman, I think he could bounce off Tom Holland with his charisma and charm while being the dark and mysterious hunter needed for the role.

3. The Lizard - David Tennant

The Lizard is a very interesting Spider-Man villain, he has already been included in The Amazing Spider-Man movie. However, I think that he can be written and played so much better. He has also been a member of the sinister six and is a villain that has been plaguing Spider-Man for years in all forms of media.

David Tennant would be my pick for Lizard. He is an amazing actor and has experience playing a Marvel villain when he played The Purple Man in Netflix's adaptation of Jessica Jones. He could not be more qualified with his enormous CV and would play the wacky scientist turned villain character so well.

2. Hobgoblin - Jacob Batalon

The Hobgoblin is another Spider-Man villain that hasn't really had any love from TV or movies, he has only really been seen in some animated shows over the years. Again however, he is a massive character in the Spider-Man comics. The mantle of Hobgoblin has been taken by 8 people in the comics, including Ned Leeds.

This is why my choice would be Jacob Batalon, he is currently playing Peter's best friend Ned Leeds in the MCU. This would mean that he would become a villain of Peter's but I think that Jacob would smash this opportunity. He is a fairly new actor but has been amazing as Ned so far and this could take his career to a new level.

1. Green Goblin - Bryan Cranston

The Green Goblin is Spider-Man's most hated and feared enemy. He has shown up to ruin Peter's day more times than anyone can count and again has shown up in every form of Spider-Man media. However, he has to be introduced to the MCU at some point and it has to be done with a show stopping actor.

The actor to do this should be Bryan Cranston. I cannot speak highly enough of Bryan Cranston for this role. He played a smart but scary villain during his time on Breaking Bad winning numerous awards. He is one of the best male actors around right now. If Marvel want a comic accurate Norman Osbourne who would terrify Peter Parker as Green Goblin, the choice is clear.
