Some DOOL fans were stunned at what happened between Leo and Dimitri while others saw it coming the moment they met

Leo and Dimitri were inevitable

Some fans of Days of Our Lives were caught off guard by the actions of Dimitri Von Leuschner (Peter Porte) and Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) on Monday while others saw it coming from the moment the men first met. There seemed to be a vibe between the two and Leo is not shy about going after what he wants. The problem is this time his happiness will come at the expense of the woman he calls his dearest friend in the world. Leo has done some dastardly deeds while living in Salem but seemed to be attempting to mend his ways. Now because of his latest choice he might lose the one person he believed he could count on.

On Friday when Dimitri kissed Leo, it was not clear if he planned a seduction just to keep Stark from revealing his plot to Gwen Rizczech (Anne-Marie Martin) but it soon became obvious the duo were drawn to one another. After their tryst the plot began to unfold and Leo will soon find he is in over his head. He was determined to get the goods on Megan Hathaway's ( Miranda Wilson) son and expose him for using his Bestie but now he cannot do this without exposing himself.

Leo is inside a tangled web

Von Leuschner shared with Stark how he had to be married to obtain his family fortune and Leo quickly volunteered for the job. Dimitri explained that his family was old-fashioned and that his spouse must be a woman. He added that two consenting adults should be able to marry whomever they want. Meanwhile, Gwen is going through Salem showing off her engagement ring and making phone calls announcing that she is going to marry Von Leuschner.

During their conversation, it came out that Dimitri is a gay man which will add to Gwen's pain when she finds out. This situation can only get worse as time goes on Leo and Dimitri try to hide the truth from Gwen and also keep their hands off each other. Now Gwen will have a double shock of being betrayed by her best friend and the man she is going to marry. Would Von Leuschner go so far as to be intimate with both Gwen and Leo until he gets what he wants which is his inheritance?

Once Dimitri learns his mother has allegedly escaped on a submarine for parts unknown with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf ( Richard Wharton) he will have to process his next steps on his own. Since she did not die Megan will probably resurface in Salem again in the future. How will Dimitri react without his mom pulling the strings and is he capable of gaining his inheritance all by himself?

What does the future hold?

Will Meghan try to contact him to ensure she gets her cut of the money and will the Salem PD be watching his every move just in case mother and son have a chat? A few months back Leo shared with Gwen that he wanted to find true love but all the men in his life end up leaving him. If he now believes Dimitri is the one how could they ever be happy together after what they are about to do to Ms. Rizczech?

Both Peter Porte and Greg Rikaart are married to men off-screen which is why some Days of Our Lives fans felt certain they would end up together on screen. On May 9, 2015, Rikaart married Robert Suddoth and on October 7, 2018, Porte married Jacob Villere in a ceremony held in New Orleans.
