So, That's What Zoey Said! Dan Schneider Revealed What Happened 10 Years After 'Time Capsule'

September 18th 2005. Who could ever forget that date? That's when the 2nd episode of the 2nd season of Zoey 101 aired. For those of you who had already forgotten, the episode was titled "Time Capsule," (an idea Zoey came up with) Wherein Mr. Bender assigned each student of Pacific Coast Academy (PCA) to bring items that best represent themselves, for the future students of PCA to dig up. They then sealed it in a time capsule.

Our pretty little Zoey recorded a video about her life at PCA, her friends and so on. And of course, one dude we know is anxious about what Zoey said about him. Even going as far as to dig up the time capsule at 3 in the morning...

But Chase felt a little guilty, after all, it's none of our business what other people think about us. Thus, he returned the DVD to where it should be.

The time capsule was originally meant to be opened in 2025, however Zoey decided she was being a little mean when she said 20 years, so she technically gave Chase the permission to find out what she said about him in 10 years.

We never did get to find out what Zoey really said about Chase all those years ago, although we do have a feeling that they're still probably together now.

It's ten years later! So what did Zoey say?

In a series of tweets, Zoey 101 creator Dan Scheider had us all in the edge of our seats - or in my case, I fell asleep and woke up to the video this morning (curse you, Time Zones!)

And then, he released it on Teen Nick in the evening. Of course, throughout the countdown mean tweets weren't avoidable (it's been 10 years after all), but he tweeted this message along with the video, to say that he isn't offended at all.

Prepare for a serious tug at your heartstrings and nostalgia feels, this is the best thing that's ever happened in the entire history of Nickelodeon, ever. Thanks for continuing the awesomeness, Dan!

Shall I break it down for you? Yes, yes I shall.

The mini-episode begins with this girl, who apparently, is NOT Zoey.

You are not Zoey - why are you here? She looks so giddy that we already know what's going to ensue or happen next.

Oh my god, Chase! Does this mean you're...?

It's a ring, in a clam... Well, in a clam shell 'cause he ate the clam. He then proceeds to drop down on his knee, to proclaim his undying love for Zo- *ehem* Alyssa. (Or was it Eliza?)

But! Michael interrupts and saves the day!

Just before Chase pops the big question, Michael interrupts him and proceeds to tell him that it's been ten years now, and we can finally know what Zoey said!

Of course, this interruption irritates the girl, and initially Chase too, but this is pretty important and we know that even though they apparently broke up, he still hasn't moved on from Zoey (she's someone special).

Does anyone here have a DVD player?

So, Chase gets excited and frantically asks if anyone has a DVD player, pretty foolhardy if you ask me, but oh! Someone has...A VHS player. In 2005, Zoey hoped that people of the future have DVD players, otherwise her CD won't work... so uhh, put that thing back where it came from, buddy.

Luckily, Michael transcribed everything that Zoey said about Chase!

He watched it all, and he wrote down everything that Zoey said about Chase.

Before he continues, Chase interrupts him to bring out a photograph of Zoey he has with him (knowing Chase) all the time!

Yet another testament that he still loves Zoey. Michael continues reading, and is interrupted multiple time, one such interruption occurs when Chase's current girlfriend states that now, he loves her.

The bottomline is that Chase is in love with Zoey, even now! After finding out that Zoey thinks of him as a soul mate (or something along those lines in Chase's mind), he tries to contact her... by using an outdated texting app.

He goes out to find her, but then comes back again to take back the ring he forgot to bring with him. I love how hopeful his now-ex looked in that scene. But, aww, honey, you can't stand in the way of true love - who knows, maybe Michael is the one for you?

Okay now, this is what Zoey said, without interruption.

“And now, I'm gonna tell you about one of the most special people I've ever met. His name is Chase Matthews. And he's one of the funniest, coolest, nicest guys in the world. ”“Sometimes, I kinda think he has a little crush on me, but other times, I kinda think he just wants to be friends. All I know for sure is, Chase is really special to me, and who knows, maybe he's even my soulmate.”
