Siccin 7 is a Turkish supernatural horror movie built around black magic, family secrets, guilt and a terrifying ritual connected to the rare Black Moon of 2018. What initially appears to be a haunted-house story eventually becomes something much darker, as the truth about Meral, Mehmet, Rüya and Kemal is slowly revealed.
The movie constantly blurs the line between nightmares and reality. Characters see disturbing visions that later become real, while the mysterious Zulmat ritual connects several seemingly unrelated tragedies.
If the final twists left you confused, here is the complete Siccin 7 ending explained.
Spoiler Warning
Major spoilers for Siccin 7 follow, including the Black Moon ritual, Mehmet’s death, Rüya’s secret and the movie’s ending.
What Is the Black Moon Ritual in Siccin 7?
The story begins during a rare astronomical period described as the Black Moon month.
According to the movie’s mythology, performing a forbidden black-magic ritual during this period can create consequences that continue for generations.
Meral approaches a powerful woman experienced in dark rituals because she wants revenge.
Her husband and young son were brutally murdered, leaving Meral as the only survivor. Consumed by grief and anger, she wants the murderer to suffer in the worst possible way.
She is warned that the ritual she wants is extremely dangerous. Once started, it cannot simply be abandoned without consequences.
But Meral refuses to change her mind.
For the Zulmat ritual to work, an innocent person must be sacrificed.
Meral therefore brings an orphan boy named Mehmet.
On February 16, Mehmet is tied down while the ritual begins. Strange chants are performed as masked women surround him. As the ceremony reaches its climax, something supernatural appears to enter the boy.
At the same time, the man responsible for destroying Meral’s family returns home, shoots his own family and then kills himself.
Meral has finally received her revenge.
But the ritual is not finished.
Why Does Mehmet Have to Be Buried Alive?
After the revenge is completed, Meral is given one final instruction.
Mehmet must be buried alive the following night because his blood has become cursed through the ritual.
Meral is also given a special amulet. She is told to bury it with Mehmet. If she fails to complete this final step correctly, the curse may continue instead of disappearing.
This becomes the single most important event in Siccin 7.
Meral believes she has completed her revenge, but she does not realize that Mehmet will never actually be buried.
Kazım, a man connected to a group exploiting orphan children for begging, discovers Mehmet and rescues him before Meral can finish the ritual.
The boy survives.
That means the Zulmat ritual remains incomplete.
And the supernatural force created by it is still active.
Who Are Kemal and Rüya?
Around a month later, the story moves to March 21, 2018.
Meral begins working as a maid for Kemal and his family.
Kemal is a former doctor living in a large mansion with his wife Arzu, daughters Serap and Rüya, and his elderly mother Lale.
Lale has Alzheimer’s disease, while everyone is told that young Rüya has suffered from a serious medical condition.
Almost immediately, Lale begins acting strangely around Rüya.
She repeatedly insists that Rüya is not really her granddaughter.
At first, her statements can easily be dismissed because of her Alzheimer’s. But as the movie continues, it becomes obvious that Lale knows more than anyone realizes.
She believes Kemal has done something terrible.
Meanwhile, strange paranormal activity begins spreading throughout the house.
Why Does Everyone Start Having Nightmares?
Meral is haunted by memories of her murdered husband and son.
She also begins seeing disturbing visions connected to Mehmet and the unfinished ritual.
Kemal experiences nightmares of his own. In one terrifying vision, he finds Rüya covered in blood. But when he picks her up, the child in his arms suddenly becomes Mehmet.
Serap also experiences increasingly disturbing encounters involving Rüya.
Sometimes she hears Rüya calling her when the real Rüya is somewhere else. Other times she dreams of a monstrous version of her younger sister attacking her.
The movie deliberately makes it difficult to know which moments are dreams and which are supernatural events.
Eventually, however, an important pattern becomes clear.
Kemal’s nightmares appear to warn about the beginning of future tragedies, while Meral’s dreams seem to reveal how those tragedies will end.
That becomes terrifyingly clear with Lale.
What Happens to Lale?
Kemal dreams that saving Rüya requires his mother’s blood.
In the nightmare, Lale tells him that Mehmet visits her and has revealed the truth.
Kemal later wakes up and discovers that Lale is still alive.
For a moment, he believes everything is fine.
But shortly afterward, he hears her calling out.
He runs toward the stairs and finds Lale standing there.
She tells him that this time it is not a dream.
Moments later, she falls down the stairs and dies.
Her death proves that the family is no longer dealing with ordinary nightmares.
Something supernatural is actively targeting them.
The family hides Lale’s death from Rüya, telling the child that her grandmother is in hospital.
But even death does not stop Lale.
Her spirit later appears before Rüya and reveals that her parents are lying. She tells Rüya that she is already dead and buried.
Why Is Kazım Important?
Kazım appears to be a secondary character at first, but he connects almost every major part of the story.
He was involved with children forced to beg, including Mehmet.
More importantly, Kazım was the person who rescued Mehmet before Meral could bury him.
But saving Mehmet was not an act of kindness.
Kazım later used the boy for money.
He also knew important secrets about both Meral and Kemal and exploited that information for financial gain.
Eventually, the supernatural force connected to Mehmet turns against him.
A possessed child attacks Kazım, and before Kazım dies, he hears a horrifying question connected to Mehmet:
Why did you save me?
His rescue did not save Mehmet from suffering.
It merely delayed something much worse.
What Did Kemal Do to Mehmet?
This is where Siccin 7 delivers one of its biggest twists.
Rüya was supposedly suffering from a severe blood disorder. According to what the family believed, her body could not properly produce the blood cells she needed, meaning she required repeated blood transfusions.
Mehmet happened to have a compatible blood type.
Kazım therefore sold access to Mehmet to Kemal.
Kemal secretly began taking blood from the boy and transfusing it into Rüya.
But one day, Kemal went too far.
He extracted so much blood from Mehmet that the child died.
This creates the connection between the Zulmat ritual and Kemal’s family.
Mehmet’s blood had already been corrupted by the unfinished black-magic ritual.
That same cursed blood was now inside Rüya.
This is why Lale kept insisting that Rüya was no longer the same girl.
The curse had entered the family through Mehmet’s blood.
Why Did Meral Come to Kemal’s House?
Meral was never simply an innocent maid looking for work.
She deliberately entered Kemal’s house.
After discovering what happened to Mehmet, she realizes that her unfinished ritual can only be completed by dealing with the person carrying his cursed blood.
That person is Rüya.
The woman who originally helped Meral perform the Zulmat ritual explains that because Mehmet’s cursed blood is now inside Rüya, Meral must bury Rüya alive to finally complete the ritual.
This completely changes how we understand Meral’s relationship with the child.
Throughout the movie, Rüya trusts Meral.
She considers her kind and comforting, especially when terrifying things begin happening around the house.
But Meral has secretly been waiting for the right moment to sacrifice her.
The special amulet eventually begins moving, signalling that the time has arrived.
Why Does Meral Take Rüya Into the Forest?
As the curse reaches its most dangerous stage, Arzu and Serap become possessed by an evil force.
Meanwhile, Meral quietly approaches Rüya and tells her they are going to play a special game.
Because Rüya trusts her completely, she follows without resistance.
Meral takes her into the forest and prepares to bury her alive.
At the same time, Orhan arrives at the mansion.
Orhan has understood from the beginning that someone performed the forbidden Zulmat ritual during the Black Moon. He has spent much of the movie trying to discover where the curse originated.
Now he finally reaches Kemal’s house.
Inside, he finds Arzu and Serap under the control of a demonic force.
He begins an exorcism.
The movie’s climax therefore unfolds in two places at once.
Orhan is fighting the supernatural force inside the mansion, while Meral is preparing to finish the ritual by burying Rüya.
Siccin 7 Ending Explained: Does Rüya Die?
No.
Orhan successfully defeats the evil force and breaks the curse before Meral can complete the burial.
As soon as the supernatural connection disappears, Arzu and Serap return to normal.
Meral also immediately senses that something has changed.
The curse she has been trying to escape has finally been broken.
Instead of leaving Rüya underground, Meral quickly removes the soil and pulls her back out.
She simply tells the innocent girl that their game is over.
Rüya never understands how close she came to being sacrificed.
However, the end of the supernatural curse is not the movie’s final twist.
The darkest revelation still concerns Kemal.
Was Rüya Really Sick?
The final revelation changes the meaning of almost everything Kemal has done.
Rüya apparently never suffered from the serious illness Kemal claimed she had.
Kemal was the one who created and maintained the belief that his daughter was sick.
The movie presents his condition as a form of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, in which a caregiver creates, exaggerates or fabricates illness in someone under their care.
Kemal had convinced himself that Rüya required constant medical treatment.
His obsession eventually led him to illegally obtain Mehmet’s blood.
And that decision killed Mehmet.
In other words, the chain of horror was not created by supernatural forces alone.
Human choices started it.
Meral’s desire for revenge created the Zulmat ritual.
Kazım’s greed prevented Mehmet from being buried and later placed him in Kemal’s hands.
Kemal’s obsession caused Mehmet’s death.
And Mehmet’s cursed blood carried the consequences into Rüya and the rest of the family.
What Happens to Kemal at the End?
After the truth comes out, Kemal’s psychological condition completely collapses.
He is held responsible for what he has done and is sent to a psychiatric institution for six years.
This gives Siccin 7 a surprisingly human explanation beneath all its supernatural horror.
The demons and rituals are frightening, but almost every disaster in the movie begins with grief, greed, obsession or deception.
Meral cannot accept the murder of her family and turns toward forbidden magic.
Kazım treats vulnerable children as objects that can make him money.
Kemal becomes dangerously obsessed with his daughter’s supposed illness.
Each person believes they can control the consequences of their actions.
None of them can.
What Does the Ending of Siccin 7 Really Mean?
The ending suggests that the Zulmat curse survives because the original ritual was never properly completed.
Mehmet was supposed to be buried, but Kazım rescued him.
Then Mehmet died because of Kemal.
His cursed blood entered Rüya.
As a result, Rüya unknowingly became the next link in the ritual.
Meral initially believes killing Rüya is the only way to end what she started.
But Orhan’s successful intervention breaks the supernatural force before that sacrifice becomes necessary.
The ending therefore closes two separate mysteries.
The supernatural mystery explains why the house became filled with possessions, ghosts and horrifying visions.
The psychological mystery explains why Mehmet became connected to Kemal and Rüya in the first place.
Without Kemal’s obsession, Mehmet would never have died from the blood extraction.
And without Meral’s revenge ritual, Mehmet’s blood would never have carried the curse.
Is Siccin 7 Based on a True Story?
The movie’s closing framing presents the horrifying events through Meral’s perspective and connects the story with an alleged real-life horror account.
However, the supernatural events themselves should be understood as part of the movie’s horror narrative rather than treated as independently verified facts.
That “real story” atmosphere is effective because Siccin 7 mixes supernatural folklore with recognizable human fears: losing a child, trusting the wrong person, medical abuse and discovering that someone inside your own family has been hiding a terrible secret.
Final Thoughts
Siccin 7 works because its biggest horror is not simply the demons.
The movie gradually reveals that the paranormal nightmare surrounding Rüya began with decisions made by ordinary people.
Meral chooses revenge.
Kazım chooses greed.
Kemal chooses obsession and deception.
Mehmet, the most innocent person in the story, becomes the victim connecting all three.
By the time Siccin 7 reaches its ending, the Black Moon ritual, Mehmet’s cursed blood, Rüya’s strange condition and Lale’s warnings all fit together.
The final message is disturbing but clear: the supernatural curse may eventually be broken, but the damage caused by human obsession can be far harder to undo.
