Should we care about Nate Jacobs' death????
Rip Nate Jacobs (Not the actor Jacob Elordi who is still alive) …...but do we care?????
In the last episode of HBO's Euphoria, Season 3, Nate Jacobs (played by Jacob Elordi) was going through troubles. First, he owns his company; he owes $1 million to this Armenian mob boss, on his wedding night his boss posse beats him up giving his wife, Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney), a nosebleed on their wedding night, getting one of his toes cut off, and one of his fingers cut off.
Now on episode 7, he ends up buried alive with a hole where he was screaming for help, that was until a rattlesnake enters the hole, slithers all over his body, and bites him. Cassie ends up kidnapped by the mob boss and held hostage until he gets the money. Cassie calls Maddie (played by Alexie Damie) asking for help. Maddie ends up in a hot tub with Alamo (played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), asking him for a favor to help pay their debt. Alamo shoots and kills the Armenian mob boss. When they dug him, it was too late. Nate's body decomposed with his tongue brutally swollen from the rattlesnake bite.
But let’s be honest, should we care that he is killed off the show?????
Throughout the whole two seasons, Nate has not only been the most villainous character in the show. In Euphoria, Nate is manipulative, controlling, intimidating, dishonest, and at times physically violent. His relationships with characters like Maddy Perez and Cassie Howard are marked by emotional abuse, power games, and psychological manipulation. That said, "worst boyfriend ever" depends on the comparison group. Television has featured plenty of partners who are abusive, murderous, or otherwise extreme. Characters such as Joe Goldberg from You or Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones would probably rank even higher on a "worst partner" list because of the severity of their actions. If the question is whether Nate is a terrible boyfriend in a realistic, everyday relationship sense, then yes, his behavior displays many traits that relationship experts would identify as emotionally abusive and controlling. The show intentionally portrays him as someone who causes significant harm to the people he dates. So, my take: Nate isn't necessarily the single worst boyfriend in all of fiction, but he's one of the most toxic and disturbing depictions of a teenage boyfriend on television. Whether Nate Jacobs got what he deserved is one of the biggest debates among Euphoria fans.
By the end of Season 2, Nate experiences some consequences:
- His relationship with Cassie Howard falls apart. Cassie gets mad,
- He remains estranged from many people around him.
- He turns in evidence against his father, Cal Jacobs, leading to Cal's arrest.
- He continues to struggle with his own trauma, anger, and identity issues.
However, many viewers feel these consequences don't fully match the harm he caused. Throughout the series, Nate engages in intimidation, manipulation, emotional abuse, violence, and criminal behavior, yet he avoids many of the legal or social repercussions that might realistically follow. Because of that, a common criticism is that he hasn't truly faced accountability. Others argue that the show isn't trying to deliver straightforward moral justice. Instead, it focuses on how trauma, family dynamics, and personal choices shape people. From that perspective, Nate's life is already portrayed as deeply damaged, even if he isn't formally punished. So, if by "got what he deserved" you mean "was held fully accountable for everything he did," many fans would say no, not yet, at least based on what's been shown in the series so far. If you mean "did he suffer consequences?" then the answer is yes, though opinions differ on whether those consequences were enough.
Honestly, at first, I did feel bad for Nate, but I kind of don’t because that right there was bad karma for mofos like him disrespecting his relationships with Cassie and Maddie. And I am not going to lie, I believed that Maddie did Alamo a favor just to save Nate, as far as I see it. After watching the wedding scene, she looked distressed, like she was still in love with Nate, despite him being married to Cassie.
Do you think Nate got what he deserved?????
