Shogun 2024 Series Review: Solid Start

Shogun is a historical drama series that has now been released on Hulu, and let me tell you that it is a limiter series, which means that the story will end in season one of this series itself; you do not have to wait for season 2 of this series. 

And this show has a total of ten episodes, but right now only the first two have been released; the remaining episodes will be released one by one every week.

Shogun 2024 Review

I just wrapped up the first two episodes of this show, and I wanted to tell you how I felt about it. Some parts were cool, and others were not so much. Let me break it down for you!

Travel back to the 16th century in Japan. The top boss is out, and his kid is too little to rule. So, five Word Lords from different squads team up to run the show. But, surprise! It turns into a wild fight for power among these lords. Who's going to win? Popcorn is ready, my friend—you'll have to watch the series to know.

Now let's talk about how my experience was after watching the first two episodes of this series. To be honest, my heart became happy after watching the first two episodes. Finally, after a long time, it feels like we are getting to watch a well-made period drama.

The dirty politics of the medieval era are being seen: who is with whom, who will betray whom? And good suspense is being built from the very first two episodes.

The first two episodes of the series introduced cool characters, and they've set up some interesting clashes between them.

Right now we have not seen any big action sequences in the series, but there is an element of mystery in the story, and as the suspense is slowly being built in the story, it seems that going forward we will get a lot of twists and turns in the story.

The characters also seem interesting, so the first two episodes will grab your interest very well, and you will want to know more about the world and characters of the show.

And not only this, the Samurai culture is being shown to us in this series in great detail and with great beauty, which I really liked seeing. I also liked the period settings of this show very much.

Overall, the visuals of the series are very beautiful, the production value of this show is quite high, and the music of this series is also very good. The actors' performances have also been good so far.

Conclusion

Overall, both episodes are a solid start to this series, and I would definitely like to see this series continue. I would suggest to you all that if you like watching historical action dramas or political thrillers, then you can start watching now and hope that this show will not disappoint us further.

And yes, this series is not meant to be watched with the family because, at one place, a sex scene is present—nudity, blood, or violence.
