Shameless Characters Ranked Least To Most Likely To Win The Hunger Games

Shameless characters are often willing to do anything to survive, which makes them ideal candidates to compete in the Hunger Games.

The characters of Shameless (the U.S. version) are all fierce in their own rights: hustlers, workers, fighters, righteous citizens of Chicago. Some of them seem to have a natural killer instinct, like Mickey and Carl, while others are a little gentler. However, when it comes down to it, pretty much all of them - Gallaghers or not - are willing to give up their dignity if it means survival.

The residents of the South Side are so well-practiced in the art of survival that they'd all be serious contenders for Hunger Games victory. However, pitted against each other, the odds might not be in their favor. The characters of Shameless would find the competition fierce if they were all thrown into an arena from The Hunger Games, but only one victor may be crowned.

10. Kevin Ball

Unfortunately, Kevin would be one of the first Tributes to go. He may be physically strong - he even has his own personal training business for a while - but he doesn't have the mind or patience for strategy.

To win the Games, Kevin needs to be a logical thinker, rather than someone who acts on emotion. He's not the most intelligent character in the series, so he would be eliminated pretty early on.

9. Veronica Fisher

Veronica is one of the smartest, most level-headed characters on the show, but it's hard to imagine her killing anyone. She's done some questionable things to ensure her family's safety and progression up the socioeconomic food chain, but she's not a killer.

Sometimes, the quiet ones win the Games, but Veronica seems more like the kind of person who would protect one of her allies or sacrifice herself for the greater good. Veronica also doesn't always have the best instincts. Still, with her sharp mind, she'd be a valuable asset to any ally and a fierce competitor to her rivals.

8. Lip Gallagher

Lip has his cleverness to his advantage, but he's not much of a fighter. He's one of the softest characters of the show, and he probably wouldn't get far unless he had something to fight for.

Now that he has a child, Lip could be motivated enough to kill for him. He also has seemingly endless reserves of anger, which he often expresses through violence. However, he's usually only violent when he has been drinking.

7. Carl Gallagher

For all of Carl's obsession with violence and weapons, he wouldn't be the top contender for victor of the Hunger Games. Like Kevin, Carl doesn't have the sharpest head sitting on his shoulders. However, what Carl does have is basic military training.

Carl doesn't take nonsense from anyone. As seen by his actions in the show, he's willing to put in the effort to get things done even when nobody else will. He may not be a strategist, but for this reason, he could be an unlikely dark horse in the Games.

6. Liam Gallagher

Liam may be the youngest contender on this list, but he's got some game. He's intelligent, logical, critical, strategic, calculating, and a hustler. He may not do much killing, but he's a survivor who takes care of himself.

Liam would be the kind of Tribute to surround himself with allies who would protect him. He'd probably be able to live off whatever environment he's thrown into, and he'd have no trouble leaving his allies if he needed to - he's already left his family a few times.

5. Ian Gallagher

Ian may be one of the gentlest characters in the show, but like Carl, he also has military training. From blowing up vans to stealing helicopters, Ian's actions indicate that he's courageous - and maybe a little reckless.

However, Ian is also clever, informed, and rarely acts on a whim. He prefers to think things through, an asset that would be invaluable in a Hunger Games arena. Still, Ian's gentler nature may be a hindrance in the Games.

4. Mickey Milkovich

Mickey may not be book smart or educated, but he's so ruthless and vicious that he might just be one of the last Tributes standing. He's not a murderer - yet - but a Hunger Games arena might turn him into one.

Surprisingly, Mickey has a head for planning and strategy, even if he doesn't always come up with the best ideas. He's often the one to remind Ian that it's better to attack with a plan. But even if he's a bit of a brute, he's probably not clever enough to outlast everyone else.

3. Debbie Gallagher

Debbie starts the series as a kind-hearted, thoughtful young girl, but soon grows into an assertive, empowered young woman. Her childlike innocence falls away, and she becomes quite the hustler.

It's this quality, along with her cleverness, tactfulness, and shamelessness, that would make her a great candidate to win the Hunger Games. She's not afraid to do anything for survival, and she's already proven her aptitude for fighting with strangers.

2. Fiona Gallagher

Fiona may not have finished high school, but she's one of the smartest characters on the show. She carries a lot of baggage around, but she's capable. She can plan and strategize, but she can fight, too.

Unlike Lip, Fiona doesn't need to be drunk to get assertive and angry. She will do anything for her family's survival, and in the Hunger Games, that would be the only motivation she needs to fight.

1. Frank Gallagher

Finally, there's Frank Gallagher - they call him a cockroach for a reason. Frank rarely initiates fights, but he may not need to in order to win the Hunger Games. In a way, life on the South Side is like the Hunger Games - survival of the fittest - and Frank is easily the veteran.

It seems that Frank can survive literally anything, from liver transplants to floating around in Lake Michigan for weeks on end. He always comes back, alive and unperturbed. Even if he doesn't engage in any fights, Frank is sure to outlast everyone else.
