Bambi is one of Walt Disney's greatest ever creations. The story circulates around Bambi, a young deer who grows up in the forest, he meets friends and some enemies. One day out in a meadow he and his mother are chased by hunters, his mother is shot and Bambi is left wondering alone in the forest. He bumps into his father, who then helps bring him up. Bambi meets a girl who he falls in love with and lives his life with. A forest fire starts where he and his girlfriend are chased, they run away and find a safe place to live in the forest, they then start a family of their own. A very happy ending to a tragic tale. A few moments in the film leaves its audiences frightened and slightly traumatised.

1. Running Away

2. Mothers Death

3. Ronno

4. Dogs

5. Forest Fire

1. Running Away

In one scene Bambis father senses man nearby. He runs into a field to alert the other deers and they all start to run. The intensity gives the impression that something bad is going to happen. At one-point Bambi loses sight of his parents, he becomes petrified and lost, in a quick instance his father leaps from nowhere and saves him. He is then joined by his mother and the three of them runaway. The music grows dramatic and tense, it suddenly stops and a gunshot is heard. It gives the idea one of them is shot and leaves the audience frightened for three of them. Seconds later the three of them emerge in the forest unharmed. The first terrifying scene of the movie.

2. Mothers Death

The next time he is out with his mother she is shot and killed by man. Bambi then wanders through the forest alone and cold calling out for his mother. He meets with his father who says the words, ‘Your mother can't be with you anymore’ which is enough to leave you crying for the rest of the film. Traumatising for all ages. Bambis face right here says it all.

3. Ronno

Bambi grows up, gets a girlfriend and bumps into his enemy Ronno, an enemy who tries to steal his girlfriend away from him. Bambi shows right here he’d do anything for Faline, but things get dark very quickly. After a minute of beating each other up Ronno falls down a bank in some water and walks off defeated. Its intensity is enough to scare its young viewers with its dark colours and quick change of events, but this also comes to show Bambi can kick some ass when needs be. Bambi fears nothing and no one.

4. Dogs

Towards the end of the movie Bambi and Faline are chased by dogs. Bambi runs up a cliff to which the dogs try to attack him. Quite scary for young viewers showing the bad side of dogs, this close up doesn’t help. We fear for Bambi’s safety but he manages to outrun the dogs and he and Faline find a place to hide. Another disturbing moment for all ages.

5. Forest Fire

Last but not least came the forest fire. The second most intense scene of the film. It made me sad to watch those poor defenceless animals' runaway. It gives off the impression with the dramatics that someone is going to die, the intense music, the fear in the animal's eyes and the aggressive fire raging through the forest. The climax of the film. Luckily Bambi and his father make it out alive and Faline gives birth to twins and Bambi becomes the Great Prince of the forest. A happy ending for our heroes. Thanks Walt for this classic movie.
