Archie Andrews starts the school year with the world weighing on his shoulders. He’s decided he wants to pursue a future in the music business, but his recently ended clandestine relationship with the music teacher has left him without a mentor, and his friendship with Jughead Jones is in a bad place. Things look like they might be turning around when Veronica Lodge, a new girl, arrives. Despite the instant chemistry, Veronica is hesitant to risk a friendship with Betty — who has a crush on Archie — to pursue anything. Amidst all the small-town banality lurks a mystery: the recent tragic death of Jason Blossom, the twin brother of beautiful and popular troublemaker, Cheryl.

Riverdale is an American teen drama television series based on the characters of Archie Comics. The series was adapted for The CW by Archie Comics’ chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics. Originally conceived as a feature film adaptation for Warner Bros. Pictures, the idea was re-imagined as a television series for Fox. In 2015, development on the project moved to The CW, where the series was ordered for a pilot. Filming takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The series features an ensemble cast based on the characters of Archie Comics, with KJ Apa in the role of Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, and Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, the series’ narrator.

Riverdale debuted on January 26, 2017, to positive reviews. The fourth season premiered on October 9, 2019. In January 2020, The CW renewed the series for a fifth season which premiered on January 20, 2021. In February 2021, the series was renewed for a sixth season which is set to premiere on November 16, 2021.

The series follows Archie Andrews’ life in the small town of Riverdale and explores the darkness hidden behind its seemingly perfect image.[1]

KJ Apa as Archie Andrews: A high school football player who has a passion for music. He is best friends with Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper.[2]

Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper: A smart girl with a longtime crush on Archie, she becomes friends with Veronica Lodge to help upend her perfect life.[3]

Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge: A former wealthy socialite from New York City who moves to Riverdale and becomes friends with Archie, Betty, and Jughead.[4]

Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones: A philosophically inclined social outcast who is Archie’s best friend.[3]

Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge (née Gomez[5]): Veronica’s mother, who has returned to Riverdale with her daughter following the incarceration of her husband Hiram Lodge.[6]

Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom: A wealthy, entitled, and manipulative girl who is a classmate of Archie and his friends.[7] Cheryl becomes romantically involved with Toni in season two.[8]

Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy (seasons 1–4): The lead singer of Josie and the Pussycats and a classmate of Archie and his friends.[2]

Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper: Betty and Polly’s mother, who is the editor of the local paper.[9]

Luke Perry as Fred Andrews (seasons 1–3): Archie’s father, who owns a construction company.[10]

Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge (born Jaime Luna[5]) (season 2–present): Veronica’s father, who was recently incarcerated for illegal activities.[11]

Casey Cott as Kevin Keller (season 2–present; recurring season 1): An openly gay high school student who is friends with Archie, Betty and Veronica and is the son of Riverdale’s sheriff.[12]

Skeet Ulrich as F. P. Jones (season 2–5; recurring season 1): Jughead’s estranged father and the leader of the Southside Serpents, a gang of criminals that live and operate on the fringes of Riverdale.[13][14][15]

Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle (season 3–present; recurring season 2): Archie’s long-time friend and rival, a football player at Riverdale High and town prankster.[16][17][18] Reggie was originally played by Ross Butler in the first season, who left the series due to his commitments to filming 13 Reasons Why.

Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz (season 3–present; recurring season 2): A bisexual member of the Southside Serpents, who befriends Jughead in the second season. She is in a relationship with Cheryl.[18]

Drew Ray Tanner as Fangs Fogarty (season 5; recurring season 2–4), a member of the Southside Serpents and Kevin’s on-and-off again boyfriend.[19]

Erinn Westbrook as Tabitha Tate (season 5): the ambitious, entrepreneurial granddaughter of Pop Tate, who has come to Riverdale to take over Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe in the hopes of franchising the iconic diner, even as the town around it struggles to survive.[20]

Warner Bros. began development on an Archie feature film in 2013, after a pitch from writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and director Jason Moore that would have placed Archie’s gang into a teen comedy feature film in the John Hughes tradition.[26] The duo brought the project to Warner Bros., where a VP recommended a more high-concept direction involving time travel or interdimensional portals, suggesting Louis C. K. to portray an older Archie.[27] Dan Lin and Roy Lee became producers on the project, which eventually stalled as priorities shifted at the studio towards larger tentpole films, and was reimagined as a television series.[26] The series Riverdale was originally in development at Fox, with the network landing the project in 2014 with a script deal plus penalty.[28] However, Fox did not go forward with the project. In 2015, the show’s development was moved to The CW,[29] which officially ordered a pilot on January 29, 2016.[30] On March 7, 2017, The CW announced that the series had been renewed for a second season.[31] On April 2, 2018, The CW renewed the series for a third season, which premiered October 10, 2018.[32][33] On January 31, 2019, The CW renewed the series for a fourth season, that was originally planned to consist of 22 episodes.[34][35][36] However, season four got shortened to 19 episodes instead because production was suspended on March 11, 2020 as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic.[37] Only 19 of the 22 ordered episodes of the fourth season were completed before the coronavirus pandemic.[38][39] The fourth season premiered on October 9, 2019.[40]

“Chapter Forty-Nine: Fire Walk with Me” was the first to be dedicated to Luke Perry, who died two days before the episode aired.[41][42]

On January 7, 2020, the series was renewed for a fifth season, which began a year later on January 20, 2021.[43][44][45]

On February 3, 2021, the series was renewed for a sixth season which is set to premiere on November 16, 2021.[46][47]

On February 9, 2016, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse were cast as Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones, respectively.[48] On February 24, 2016, KJ Apa was cast as Archie Andrews after a four-month worldwide talent search. Apa was one of the last to audition and landed the role just days later. Also that day, Ashleigh Murray was cast as Josie McCoy, the lead singer for the popular band Josie and the Pussycats,[49] and Luke Perry and Madelaine Petsch were also added as Fred Andrews, Archie’s father and Cheryl Blossom, respectively.[50][51] Two days later, Camila Mendes was cast as Veronica Lodge marking her first acting role in a television show.[52]

In March 2016, Marisol Nichols and Mädchen Amick joined the cast as Hermione Lodge and Alice Cooper, Veronica and Betty’s mothers, respectively.[53][54] A few days later, Ross Butler, Daniel Yang and Cody Kearsley were cast in the roles Reggie Mantle, Dilton Doiley and Moose Mason, respectively.[55] The last actor to join the pilot was Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, the first openly gay character in Archie Comics history.[56]

In April 2017, Mark Consuelos signed on for the second season to play Veronica Lodge’s father, Hiram Lodge.[57] The role was in second position to his existing role on Pitch but the cancellation of that series was announced on May 1, 2017.[58] The next month, Charles Melton was cast to take over the role of Reggie from Ross Butler in season 2 due to his status as a series regular on 13 Reasons Why.[17] Casey Cott, who played Kevin Keller, was promoted to a series regular.[59] In July 2017, True Blood star Brit Morgan was cast in the recurring role of Penny Peabody, an attorney the Southside Serpents call in case of any run-ins with the law.[60] In August 2017, Graham Phillips had been cast to play Nick St. Clair, Veronica’s ex-boyfriend from New York.[61][62]

In March 2018, Andy Cohen appeared in the sixteenth episode of the second season as himself. In the series, he and Hermione are friends. He previously offered her a role as a cast member on The Real Housewives of New York City; however, Hermione turned down the offer to keep things private for the Lodge family.[63] In May 2018, Charles Melton and Vanessa Morgan, who play Reggie Mantle and Toni Topaz, respectively, would both be promoted to series regulars in the third season.[64] By the time of New York Comic Con 2018, Gina Gershon and Trinity Likins, respectively, had been cast as Gladys Jones and Jellybean “J. B.” Jones for the third season.[65]

In November 2018, Kelly Ripa, the wife of Mark Consuelos, who portrays Hiram Lodge, was cast for a guest role as Hiram’s mistress.[66] Michael Consuelos, Kelly and Mark’s son, was cast to make a guest appearance in a flashback episode as a younger Hiram.[67] In October 2019, Ryan Robbins was cast as Fred Andrews’ older brother Frank Andrews who appeared during the fourth season.[68]

On February 23, 2020, it was announced that both Ulrich and Nichols would be leaving the series.[69][70] However, in June 2020, Nichols revealed that after having a long talk with showrunner Sacasa, she would be staying on for season five.[71] In September 2020, it was announced that Erinn Westbrook would join the show as a new regular character named Tabitha Tate, the granddaughter of Pop Tate who arrives in town to run her grandfather’s malt shop and franchise from it.[20] In January 2021, Chris Mason was cast in a recurring role for the fifth season as Chad Gekko, Veronica’s Wall Street husband.[72]

Filming of the pilot began on March 14, 2016, and ended on March 31 in Vancouver, British Columbia.[73][74] Production on the remaining 12 episodes of season one began on September 7, 2016, in Vancouver.[75] Sets include Pop Tate’s Chock’lit Shoppe, a copy of the functioning diner used in the pilot that is so realistic a truck driver parked his 18-wheeler there, believing that it was open.[76] Season two was also filmed in Vancouver and the nearby Fraser Valley.[77] The aerial view of Riverdale is actually drawn from stock footage used in the series Pretty Little Liars and Gilmore Girls, and the landmark settings are the same used in both of the aforementioned series as well as in Hart of Dixie.[78] Filming for the second season started on June 22, 2017,[79] and concluded on March 27, 2018.[80] Filming for the third season started on July 6, 2018.[81]

Filming for the fourth season began on July 8, 2019 and was originally expected to end on April 4, 2020.[82] Production was suspended on March 11, 2020 as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic, after a person working on the show came in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.[37] Only 19 of the 22 ordered episodes of the fourth season were completed.[38][39] Series writer Brian E. Paterson later confirmed that they would shoot the remaining two episodes of season four when it was safe to do so.[83] The fourth season ultimately concluded with episode 19. The remaining three episodes intended for the season will be used for the start of the fifth season. The series will then feature a time jump after those episodes.[84] Despite a later premiere, season five is not expected to have a shortened episode count.[85]

Filming for the fifth season began on September 14, 2020.[86] However, filming stopped the production again by COVID-19 due to testing; but resumed a week later.[87][88] Production on season five wrapped on June 1, 2021.[89]

Several reviewers have noted that the series’ episode titles are often taken directly or slightly altered from the titles of older films.[90][91] For example, De Elizabeth of Teen Vogue points out that Riverdale’s pilot episode was named “River’s Edge” after the 1986 film of the same name, and the season finale takes its name from 1997’s The Sweet Hereafter.[92] Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa notes that this is a deliberate choice, in order to hint at what will happen in that episode.[92] The episode “Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show” heavily features Rebel Without a Cause as well as other brief allusions to films including Candyman, American Graffiti, and Trog.[93] References to the fictional setting of the Black Mirror episode “San Junipero” can be seen in season one as well as heard amongst dialogue in season two and three.[94]

Additionally, Katie-Kouise Smith, of Popbuzz, notes that the opening credits for Riverdale mirror those of the Twin Peaks television series, and are intended as an homage to that series’ co-creator, David Lynch.[78]

Musical performances are featured throughout the series, a blend of cover versions and originals. Songs performed in episodes are released as digital singles after broadcast; WaterTower Music released a digital compilation for season 1 songs on May 12, 2017; season 2 on May 18, 2018; season 3 on May 17, 2019; and season 4 on May 15, 2020.[95][96][97]

An album of Blake Neely’s scoring for season 1 was released on compact disc by La-La Land Records, and simultaneously on download by WaterTower Music, on July 18, 2017.[98] The season 2 album with scores from Neely and Sherri Chung was released on compact disc by La-La Land Records on October 30, 2018[99] and on digital by WaterTower Music on November 16, 2018.[100] A Halloween episode score soundtrack was released on digital on October 31, 2019.[101] The scoring for seasons 3 and 4 were released on separate digitals albums on January 22, 2021.[102]

WaterTower Music released the songs performed in the musical episodes on separates digitals albums. Netflix acquired the exclusive international broadcast rights to Riverdale, making the series available as an original series to its platform less than a day after its original U.S. broadcast.[120][121]

In July 2016, members of the cast and the executive producers attended San Diego Comic-Con to promote the upcoming series, where they premiered the first episode “Chapter One: The River’s Edge”.[122] The first trailer for the series was released in late December 2016.[123] The CW also sponsored multiple Tastemade videos, where they cooked several foods that are popular in the Archie universe.[124][125][126]Along with heavily promoting the television series in their regular comics since January 2017, Archie Comics releases a comic book adaptation of Riverdale, featuring auxiliary story arcs set within the television series’ own continuity. The comic book adaptation is headed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa himself, along with other writers from the show. Alongside a one-shot pilot issue, illustrated by Alitha Martinez, released in March 2017,[127] the first issue of the ongoing Riverdale comic book series was released starting April 2017.[128]

In addition to the adaptation, Archie Comics are releasing a series of compilation graphic novels branded under the title Road to Riverdale. This series features early issues from the New Riverdale reboot line, introducing the audience of the TV series to the regular ongoing comic series that inspired it. Archie Comics plans to re-print the volumes of Road to Riverdale in subsequent months as digest magazines. The first volume was released in March 2017.[128]

Several tie-in novels were also released in conjunction with the show. The first being The Day Before a prequel novel set a day before the events of the first episode, Get Out of Town, set in between Season 2 and 3, The Maple Murders, Death of a Cheerleader and The Poison Pen. The first four novels were written by Micol Ostow, with the fifth book penned by Caleb Roehrig.

The first season of Riverdale received a generally positive response from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a fresh rating of 88% based on 62 reviews, with a weighted average of 7.22/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Riverdale offers an amusingly self-aware reimagining of its classic source material that proves eerie, odd, daring, and above all addictive.”[129] On Metacritic, the season has a score of 68 out of 100 based on 36 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews”.[130] Dave Nemetz of TVLine gave the series a “B+” saying that it turned out “to be an artfully crafted, instantly engaging teen soap with loads of potential.”[135]

Some reviewers have criticized the series for its handling of minority characters. While reviewing the first season, Kadeen Griffiths of Bustle declared “the show marginalizes and ignores the [people of color] in the cast to the point where they may as well not be there.”[136] In an article for Vulture, Angelica Jade Bastien discussed the show’s treatment of Josie and the Pussycats (who are each played by African Americans), noting, “They’re not characters so much as they are a vehicle for a Message. Josie and her fellow pussycats are positioned to communicate the message that Riverdale is more modern and inclusive than teen dramas of the past, even though it has yet to prove it beyond its casting.”[137] Monique Jones of Ebony noted, “Despite the show’s multi-racial casting choices, it seems like Riverdale is still a mostly white town.” She also expressed fondness for the relationship between Archie Andrews and Valerie Brown, but declared “Archie shouldn’t be what makes Valerie interesting to us”.[138] Following the George Floyd protests, Vanessa Morgan criticized the show’s writers on social media for underutilizing and sidelining minority characters within various storylines.[139] Shortly after, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa responded in a tweet by promising to change and do better by these characters in future storylines.[140][141]

The show has also faced backlash from the asexual community for its deliberate decision not to portray Jughead Jones as asexual, despite the character being identified this way in some of the comics, and despite being urged by Jughead actor Cole Sprouse to represent the character’s asexuality.[142][143] Furthermore, the show has received additional criticism regarding the queerbaiting of certain characters.[144][145]

Riverdale has notably enjoyed widespread success in Australia.[146] Riverdale is broadcast in the country as a Netflix Original Series hours after its US broadcast and during the late 2010s was one of the most popular shows in the country regularly entering the top 10 of the most viewed TV shows in the country.[147] For a brief time period in October 2018, Riverdale became the number 1 show in Australia.[147]

Riverdale has also been noted as being one of the most popular shows worldwide on the popular streaming platform Netflix.[147] The large number of fans watching the series on the platform also gave the show a large bump in the ratings for its season two premiere.[148] This was later referenced on multiple occasions by The CW’s president, Mark Pedowitz, who noted that they would watch Netflix numbers more closely for new series after seeing how Riverdale did on the platform.[149] Season four was posted onto the website in the U.S. on May 15, 2020, and remained in the top ten titles on the entire platform for the following month.[150] In the UK, it was also the most popular program on the streaming service in May.[151]

In September 2017, it was reported that a live-action television series based on the comic series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was being developed for The CW by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions, with a planned release in the 2018–2019 television season. The series, featuring the Archie Comics character Sabrina Spellman, would be a companion series to Riverdale. Lee Toland Krieger directed the pilot, which was written by Aguirre-Sacasa. Both are executive producers along with Berlanti, Schechter, and Goldwater.[184] In December 2017, it was reported that the project had moved to Netflix under a new title. In January 2018, CW president Mark Pedowitz noted that, “at the moment, there is no discussion about crossing over” with Riverdale.[185] Aguirre-Sacasa added that no crossovers were planned initially so that each series could establish “their own identities and own set of rules”.[186] Filming for first season began on March 19, 2018, just as filming of the second season of Riverdale concluded, which allowed the same crew members to work on both series.[187]

Sabrina’s town, Greendale, is introduced in the second season of Riverdale. Following that, several references to the two cities are made regularly in the two series, visually or with dialogue.[188] In the first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Moses Thiessen reprises his role as Ben Button from Riverdale during an episode.[189] In the episode “Chapter Sixty-Seven: Varsity Blues” from the fourth season of Riverdale, Ty Wood reprises his role as Billy Marlin from Sabrina.[190]

In episode “Chapter Twenty-Three: Heavy Is the Crown” from the third part of Sabrina, the teenage witch and her cousin visit Riverdale in search for a crown that was owned by Benjamin Blossom, an ancestor of Cheryl. On their way, they pass the town sign. On its back, Jughead Jones spray painted the message “JJ Wuz Here”, his signature. Three episode later, a member of the Southside Serpents is attacked by Hilda Spellman.[191]

Regarding a proper crossover, Aguirre-Sacasa said in October 2018 he would “hate for [a crossover] to never happen” between the two series, adding a potential idea for one could see the characters of Riverdale “hear[ing] about a haunted house in Greendale and try to break in and it’s Sabrina’s house”. He also felt since each series was already established, a crossover could happen in a standalone film with both casts, potentially titled Afterlife with Archie, based on the Archie Horror comic of the same name.[192]

The series was canceled in July 2020, when showrunner Sacasa later announced that if it had been renewed, Riverdale and Sabrina would have had a proper crossover event.[193]

Katy Keene (TV series)

In August 2018, Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that another spin-off was in development at The CW. He said that the series would be “very different from Riverdale” and that it would be produced “in [the 2018–19] development cycle.”[186] By January 2019, The CW issued a pilot order for the series stating that the plot will: “[follow] the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City. This musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio.”[194] In February of the same year, it was announced that Ashleigh Murray, who portrays Josie McCoy in Riverdale, had been cast in a lead role for Katy Keene, leading to her exit from the former.[195] By August 2019, Michael Grassi announced that there is a crossover between Riverdale and Katy Keene being developed.[196] The crossover episode aired on February 5, 2020.[197][198]

In the episode “Chapter Six: Mama Said” from the first season of Katy Keene, Robin Givens reprises her role as Sierra McCoy from Riverdale. Four episodes later, Casey Cott reprises his role as Kevin Keller in “Chapter Ten: Gloria”.[199][200] In the last episode of the first season, Mark Consuelos reprises his role as Hiram Lodge.

On July 2, 2020, the series was canceled after one season.[201] Despite the cancellation, characters from Katy Keene appear in Riverdale: Zane Holtz reprised his role as K.O. Kelly in the first episode of season five, followed by Ryan Faucett as Bernardo in the seventh episode of the same season, and Lucy Hale reprised her role in a voice-over in the eighth episode.[202][203]

By September 2020, Aguirre-Sacasa was preparing another spin-off series based on an Archie Comics property.[204]

This show makes no sense, the first season is pretty good but the rest are just terrible. They talk like they're in the medieval times when they're just teenagers. No teenagers talk like that or act like that. I feel like the writers to this show are 12 years old writing fanfiction. The teenagers don't act their age and nobody refers to their couple as 'bughead' or 'varchie'. It's cringeworthy honestly. Also is nobody gonna talk about the fact that Betty and Jughead share a brother but just don't care, or that their parents are dating too. I'd be weirded out.

Riverdale's on crack and there was a lot of potential there and it totally bombed. I've even seen interviews of the Riverdale actors saying that the show's pretty crazy now and just look like they don't find their characters realistic at all. The fanbase consists of 9-13 year olds now who will attack basically anyone if they don't like Riverdale or don't ship

Cheryl and Toni as a couple had a lot of potential, they could've built an intense and slow enemies to lovers relationship which I would've stuck around for but no they decided to rush them into a relationship and call each other cringe worthy pet names that don't make any sense. And "Bughead" is incredibly toxic, so don't even get me started on them.

Kevin could be so much more than the 'gay best friend' which is really all he's there for. And Josie and the Pussycats deserve way more screen time, they're MAIN CHARACTERS in the comics but now they're side characters??? It's sad honestly. The diversity in this cast is complete bs, just because one of your main characters is latina doesn't make-up for the rest of the cast. (KJ Apa is half-samoan so that counts for diversity) Like sure they have Toni, Josie and the Pussycats, and Reggie Mantle but that's it?

Also these kids are what 15-16 years old, they're underage. So why the hell do they have so much sex???? Like I get it, they're teenagers, hormones and all but that's just too much. It's a waste of time and not necessary at all. Also they're still kids so why the hell is Veronica running so many businesses and still going to high school? Like how many times is she gonna fight with her dad about the business in season 2, it was way overdone. She owns a speakeasy and sells alcohol to other teenagers and has pkaces to gamble when she's underage. But it's okay since it's Riverdale, right? We've accepted that the writers are on crack. Also the southside serpents is a gang run by teenagers, weren't there adults in it at one point?????? I'm pretty sure the police would've shut them down by now? Speaking of the police, where the hell are they?? Apparently there was like one sheriff and it was Sheriff Keller and than he was replaced by that one guy and now the police just doesn't exist unless Hiram Lodge wanted them too?

This bothers me a lot, in season 4 Betty finds out she has this trait think idk what the hell it is that lets her immediately identify a serial killer or something like that but in season 2 when she's trying to find out who the black hood is she can not figure who it is even though it's her own dad who lived in her house. She figured it out eventually but it took her so long but at the fbi internship it took her two seconds to identify each killer?? Makes sense ig.

I miss when Archie just wanted to be a musician and they actually focused on the plot of them as high schoolers instead of them acting like they're grown adults. It takes the relatability out of them. A lot of lines delivered are just cringe. It's crazy how this show keeps getting renewed for more seasons when it should've been cancelled after the second one. Especially since there are so many more good shows that got cancelled instead of Riverfail. Overall, it's a cringe fest, a waste of time, and I wouldn't recommend it unless unless you're younger than 14 years and have two brain cells. (Also sorry if I confused the seasons with each other, the whole things a mess too me)

derived from Archie comics, a pretty classic for every kid even now

I've started the show pretty late like just this year, I did watch some season one episodes a few years ago, but I was much younger so I never understood much

after starting this year, I feel like it makes sense now

let's review characters now;

Betty; ok, a fan favourite. I can accurately say, that Lili was a perfect choice here.

jughead; core four and all, fan favourite and all aside. I know the hate people give to his writing, is absurd, now tbh can you actually try writing even half as good as him? the way he writes gives the uttermost aery vibes y'all.

Archie; the og, he's gotten a lot of growth since season one, his character seems to be a bit unrelatable though, but aside from that, I feel like being THE ARCHIE, he's not really the favourite in all of the core fours, I think that most people might give jughead more love, though I'm totally fine, it's just that his character lacks a bit of personality.

Veronica; our Richie rich, she's a much better person and the aspect of her being a better person is touching, personally I feel like her character is pretty good, though Idk if I like her part of the rum thing with Cheryl.

Cheryl; she's a queen, period, the aspect of the mean but darkness in the family is just more understanding, and I feel like the comics gave her a bad portrayal, but the show gave her a much nicer portrayal

now, I think the rest of the characters got really less screen time than these so imma just skip them.

ASPECT OF SCREEN TIME;

now it's true that the core four and Cheryl and Reggie now in season 3 and the honey episode of S4 he's gotten much more time.

but people like Toni has just been overlooked, they need more development and meaning, cause I'm feeling like, just leave my personal 3rd favourite Toni if you really don't want her to get any time dude-

JUST GIVE OTHERS MORE TIME THAN DROOLING OVER BUGHEAD

but I love BIGHEAD ❤️ but just want others to get more time

in honesty, I feel as if BIGHEAD is keeping us more interested than varchar

ASPECT OF CONTENT;

now going season-wise;

yes season was one of the best, cause it just gave a high school experience at least

listen-

if Betty has a 4.1 GPA, then when the heck does she study dude-

she's like solving crimes 24/7!

anyways,

season 2 was a good one, I liked hal being exposed, cause I hated him anyways

season 3;

I feel the farm aspect was actually good, I know all that voodo stuff was freakish, I still care for that season.

season 4;

still running, but till now I loved it's a plot, though it's gotten it's a fair share of hate, it's one of my favourites

#SERPENTSRULE❤️

Riverdale is an amazing show. It's mysteries and exciting events have everyone one on the edge of their seats wondering whats going to happen next. Season 1 and Jason Blossoms death was and amazing story and it was sad but creative cause it gives the watchers something to hope for and possibly make them think strategy to see if they know who done it before the end of the season. Season 2 The Black Hood and Jingle Jangle our favorite actors Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead all figured it out and the romance that comes with the group of friends cause aren't they just amazing power couples. Season 3 The Gargoyle King it keeps you interested because you think he was caught even though he wasn't and The Farm how lovely i wonder it their next move is to Greendale where The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina take place. Season 4 by the time you make it to the middle of season 3 you wont even think there is a need for season 4 but just wait till episode 22 it's shocking. Riverdale it an amazing show and i highly recommend watching if you enjoy mysteries and adventure along with romance. But i do suggest that your at least 13 things get a little spice through all 3 seasons. TV-MA I hope you go watch Riverdale. And may Luck Perry AKA: Fred Andrews rest in peace 1966-2019

Love Riverdale, love the drama and all the couples like CHONI😍, BUGHEAD😍,VARCHIE😍. Riverdale is really interesting and unpredictable which is great! Love the South-Side Serpants🐍 Love all the main characters in the show but I would love if the PUSSYCATS could possibly come back, I absolutely loved them in season 1 and the beginning of season 2!

Every season grabs your attention and leaves you in shock and leave you wondering what's gonna happen next. Each season doesnt only include shock😲, but also drama, suspense🤔, mystery,👨‍✈️ sexy romance😍and horror😨 and the deaths of people⚰!!

This show is absolutely amazing, it's 100% worth your time to watch!!

Not only that but this show is amazing for people who enjoy mystery shows and it has an amzing soundtrack!!!! Riverdale also has the perfect cast and the characters are all amazing, like I personally find Cheryl, Jughead, Toni and FP my favoirite characters in Riverdale 😍 I especially love the Serpants🐍 I really like all the characters, I dont think I'll ever have a problem with the casting of the show, but the show could use some more diversity of colour!

It's just an incredible show, omy favourite shows ever and one show I can watch over and over again❤🔥

LOVE RIVERDALE

I recommend it 100%💯

Words can't express how amazing this show is. From the moment I finished watching the first episode I was already obsessed. Everybody who hasn't watched it is really missing out.

It's a lovely mix of drama, mysteries and romance. True, the drama can be sometimes a little out of hand and unrealistic, but it's still interesting and makes you want to know what happens next.

The mysteries are literally the best thing ever! In fact, they make me want answers so much that I often end up searching for spoilers because it just makes you not want, NEED to know what happens next.

The romance is the best thing ever. Most of the time the writers really know how to make proper couples and many of the fans watch it mainly because of the amazing ships (such as Bughead, Choni, Falice... watch it and you'll see!).

Although Archie is intended to be the main character, I think all of the Core Four (Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica) are equal in that aspect, which I find pretty awesome!

I know some people say it's cringe and boring, but honestly, it's all on a personal level. And don't refuse to watch the show just because you don't like drama - I don't like drama too but I absolutely love Riverdale!

I hope this was helpful <3

Riverdale is such an amazing show.💕 I love the drama and the couples(😍 Bughead😍 and ❤️Choni❤️) I also like how each episode ends on a cliffhanger, you need to keep watching. It is not your normal teenage drama, but it can be funny, and sad and happy.I love this show, it is well directed and the actors and actresses are phenomenal especially child star Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart ( my favorite actress and actor). And they perfect for there parts. I like how they make Cheryl not such a bad guy anymore and make a whole storyline on why she is kinda like that. They keep adding characters like Toni, sweet pea. And Fangs.

Although I did not like the Grundy and Archie relationship. Season 1 is more like a normal teenage drama, then season 2 gets darker, ,And season 3 takes a huge dark turn, but the show is still good and seemingly keeps all of that high school drama, with breakups, and flings and couples getting together and of course the bughead love 💗.While watching the show you cry or feel sympathy for a character. This is just such a good show if you haven’t seen it, I suggest you do. This is my favorite show and I am a huge fan.😭 And Rest In Peace Luke Perry ( Fred Andrews) I grew up watching 90210😭.

I love I just love it this show is amazing just AWESOME!!!!!!!! I really reccomend it it has romance and mystery in it at the same time my favourite characters are Veronica and Archie I ship those two together anyhow Riverdale is just awesome I just finished the show pretty little liars (pll) not so long ago and its actually a teeny tiny bit similar to that show because it has firstly they are all teens secondly theres both romance and mystery and thirdly there are amazing cliff hanger I know that not alot of people like cliffhangers but to me they are awesome I used to think this show would be as boring as hell so thats the reason why I didnt watch it but then I thought maybe I should try it. After watching abou 2 or maybe 3 episodes of riverdale I absoulotley fell in LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE. the characters are just wow and perfect for the show and the show itself is just perfect. I really really really really like riverdale now the shoe isnt bad and in my opinion i actually think that its a bit underarted. I dont know why there are alot of bad reviews but like I said riverdale rules and you should totally watch it

SPOILERS ENCLOSED!!!!

I have found this TV series to be a fabulous show that I have enjoyed watching and will re-watch in the years to come. I personally feel that Riverdale definitely shows what true friendship is. Bughead has always been my favorite ship because, lets face it, Cole and Lili look phenomenal together. Push that aside, and we have Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones. Now that is a power couple, they come from two completely different backgrounds, one's from the wrong side of the tracks and one lives in a huge house. They both go through so much tragedy, with Betty it's finding out her father's a murderer and Jughead well FP wasn't there and his mom and Jellybean moved out, so he was on his own for quite some time. Now let's move on to Varchie. Veronica Lodge is a fabulous jewel from New York City and when she moves down to Riverdale, their world was never the same, she immediately loved Betty and even though they had their fights, they were inseparable. Finally Archie Andrews, he, Jughead and Betty had been friends forever and as soon as Veronica stepped into town he was a goner and sooner than you'd think the three became four. The four had gotten in trouble countless times and solved way more mysteries than that. But over all this series is the heart and soul of what friendship and being there for your friends is about.

RIVERDALE IS A GREAT SHOW!

10/10 ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ 100%

*Every season has drama, mystery, & horror which leave you shocked.

*Each episode has my eyes glued to the TV screen wanting to know what happens next.

*I can't get enough of Riverdale so I re-watch each season over & over again.

Sadly, I don’t have time to go into detail about “Riverdale” as so many of these smarte pantalones here have done. I plan on coming back tonight and reading all of the comments. Which I can’t make now because.....I’m in the middle of giffing up a Sweet Pea gif and I have to hide from my family to do so bug they usually end up tracking me down.

I just wanted to plead for some kind of answer to the Sweet Pea Debacle. Please.

Season 2’s new kids have done well - Toni and Fangs; and ancillary characters became important players - Cheryl, Reggie, Ethel. And Sweet Pea looked like he was on his way to doing the best of the season 2 kids (Examples: he had scenes where he dominated......blah blah...there so many posts on my Tumblr blog going into this in detail so if you want the gory details, just look thru my Tumblr blog at @fire-na-seaparks . That’s 50% of its content now because I am really peeved out.)

But must easier Is to just believe me. Jordan Connor was being groomed for bigger things on Riverdale last year and now he being groomed into being a dust spore He was set up to be the next Reggie Mantle or rather Reggie Mantle Plus. He was a beautiful blank slate and his fingers could go in many pies. We knew he could act. We loved his “You’re out of order!” tirades to the school board and Betty and Jughead. We know Cole Sprouse was losing sleep trying to keep up with all the Sweet Pea fan fiction, especially the smut, amirite?

Season 3 gave us the no-chem meh of Josie and Sweet Pea but still maybe change was coming. It wasn’t. Think of it. Of all the “kids” who no longer has his or her own little mini Story? Sweet Pea. Who, tonight, had nary a line except for a whiny “Oh c’mon Jug” on a background mix? Sweet Pea! Who, then got a nice big almost close up - that great thespian Fangs who does stage business with the jacket and then a Big Line.”Great leadership, Jughead” or something equally witty yet cutting while in the actual background is the out of focus face f Swee Pea. One more example and i’ll Go. Editing can make or break carreers, movies, tv shows etc. Go back and lock at how they cut a scene with Reggie,FP, Jughead & Sweet Pea mocking the Gargoyle they just ambushed in the woods.Sweet Peas in the group shot.

Then Jughead gets his one shot. Then a three shot of Reggie, FP and Cole. Then FP gets a beautiful close up. And it’s back to the three amigos.

Sweet Pea was in the scene I think you can see a piece of his mitochondria in five or six frames. There was no reason not to include him in the 3 shot. Put him behind someone. He tall

None of this makes sense.Jordan Connor is hired to play a role that’ll clearly be important and did not seem to be a redshirt. And now - buh bye. What is Roberto doing to him and why? Why would Roberto hire Jordan Connor after twelve months throw him to the wolves? And why is no one asking - why would you throw away Sweet Pea and keep Fangs? Cruel but true - in every way one a sparkling and very talented Cinnabon and the other looks like lawn elf and acts like this is his first time starring in the West Bay Middle School’s production of “Bring it On”.

I ‘m sorry to be cruel but i’ve been driven to it by Roberto.

Now, let me be honest here, this show is so damn good......every scene is filled with suspense. I watched riverdale first as a highschool drama but later it got even more interesting... every episode was just so good. the concept and story lining is also so perfect. The all 4 seasons are worth watching. I dont know why people think of it as a boring show, i guess they are not much interested in thriller. But if you are reading my comment then i must suggest you to watch it because it is so damn good to bring you at the edge of your seats. Just open netflix search riverdale and watch all of its seasons i guarantee you that you will not feel dissapointed.

A TRUE RIVERDALE FAN WAITING FOR SEASON 5....!!!!

WOW! I love this show. It just give you like i wanna be a teen in riverdale vibe. Me and my friends always talk about this show we are constantly asking each other what episode were on or what season we are on. I love how teens come together and be their next to each other when someone needs them. My personal favorite is cheryl blossom her characters turns from a selfish sassy girl to a brave and caring person. My favorite couple is probaly cheryl and toni I think they've come a long way from hating each other to loving each other. What I love about riverdale so much is that the give you what in the world vibes also the have a lot of cliffhangers but they always cover it in the next episode. I think that all the teens betty, jughead, veronica, archie all have a bonding relashionship I think that the show you what a real friendship is they also show you how to stick together. GO WATCH THIS NOW

Where do I start..... Riverdale is the BEST show you will ever watch. I love how the writers made the characters true to the comics and I love the cast sooooo much Lili and cole are my fav ❤️❤️❤️ I don’t understand why people hate on Riverdale so much like if you don’t like it keep your comments to your self “I don’t need your judgement sir, leave that out the door”-madelaine Petsch. The writers are amazing at writing this amazing show I love how different each season is It has such variety. Don’t get me started on the ships there are so many to love bughead is my personal favourite but the one thing that I absolutely hate about Riverdale is BARCHIE 🤮🤮🤮 why does that ship even exist like anyone who ships BARCHIE like are you ok did your mother drop you as a baby cause if you ship BARCHIE that’s just sick in a bad way

Anyway overall Riverdale is an amazing show I promise you will love it don’t judge it by what other people say find out for yourself and Thankyou to the Riverdale writers and cast for making 2020 a better year for me so enjoy ❤️❤️❤️
