Rest in Peace to Tim Curry

a farewell to a acting great

By Revista Miko:XCI Published 9 days ago • 3 min read

Tim Curry passed away and I am going to miss him terribly. He will also remain as one of my favorite actors beyond space and time. Some of my favorite movies that Tim had done are first of all he was the butler in the Clue movie released in the 80’s. Of course, Tim Curry is Dr. Frankenfurter in the iconic film “The Rocky Horror Picture show”. Dr. Frankenfurter is my favorite part of the movie. He had one hell of a singing voice also. My mother had a cassette of a Tim Curry album “Read my Lips” there are a lot of cool songs like “Birds of a Feather” and the song “Wake Nicodemos” which is a killer metal and Hard rock about a folk tale which I believe is a Scottish folk tale. Also for a Disney compilation Tim Curry did a great song an interesting take on Davy Crockett.

Tim Curry did the voice of Nigel Thornberry on the beloved children’s show on Nickelodeon called “The Wild Thornberry’s”. Some of his lesser known film work that I love is the movie from yesteryear that he made called “Blue Money” and here’s a brief synopsis of the film His character is a taxi cab driver somewhere in England in the early 80’s who is struggling to become an actor. One day in his cab he finds a whole brief case of cash and then comedic madness ensues. In the movie his character was auditioning for something and he was doing an impression of Mick Jagger and quite his impression is better than the original, eat your heart out Mick. He has great song and dance numbers throughout.

I consider myself lucky, blessed, and fortunate that I had been able to have Tim Curry sign an autograph for me and I will forever and always treasure it was some type of fan con thing. I would like to add that I consider myself blessed and lucky to have been able to catch the very last interview that Tim Curry had ever done with CBS Sunday Morning. When I had heard that He was going to be on that morning I stopped what I was doing for a few minutes to watch it.

Some of Tim’s more obscure roles were for instance he played the concierge in Home Alone 2:Lost in New York which is one of his best obscure roles at least I think so Tim Curry was made for that role. I mentioned in a previous article that Tim Curry had a brief role on Roseanne who invests in Dan’s project and Tim had some type of a role in a Disney movie where he sang a totally reimagined version of “Davy Crocket” and I got to tell you that has to be my favorite version of the song.

I truly am saddened when I heard that Tim Curry had passed at one point I stood up and saluted him as I was watching the report and I actually felt a tear or two want to emerge from my eye. Tim Curry was truly a one of a kind original without question and will be truly missed but he will live on through his body of work including his obscure role as Dr Poole a linguist he played in an obscure Sylvester Stallone movie called “Oscar”.

“Sweet Transvestite” is one of the first songs I ever learned to sing word for word and all of his songs on the “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” soundtrack. Tim was also cast as Gomez Addams in a straight to video Addams family movie called “Addam’s Family Reunion”.

Thank you Tim Curry and may you Rest In Peace. God Bless you!
