Ranking the Top 10 Worst Movies I Have Ever Seen

I love movies and absolutely hate having my time wasted. So you can imagine the betrayal I feel after watching a two to three hour film and walking away disappointed. Let me know what movie flops you think you'd include on this list in the comments below!

#1 - Snow White, 2025 (-1000/10)

The utter disrespect toward the 1937 original had me rooting for this film's downfall before I even sat down to watch it.

#2 - Mac and Me, 1988 (0.5/10)

This is just a lazy, horribly-executed knock-off of Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial from 1982. There are more than two dozen direct similarities between this film and Spielberg's classic. Who authorized the making of this blatant rip-off?

#3 - The Last Airbender, 2010 (0.5/10)

A film from M. Night Shyamalan that tragically crashed and burned at the box office. It was an especially painful watch for fans of the animated series, who claimed Shyamalan's adaptation was fraught with lifeless acting, butchered pronunciations of beloved character names, extremely rushed and inconsistent pacing, numerous gaping plot holes and lazy choreography.

#4 - The Emoji Movie (1/10)

There really isn't anything redeeming about this movie. The jokes fall flat. The characters are selfish, over-the-top and annoying. Since this is a kids' movie, you'd think there would be at least some important lessons to be learned. Think again.

Instead of focusing on a relatable concept, like our beloved childhood toys coming to life (Toy Story) or our actions being driven by our own complex emotions (Inside Out), The Emoji Movie places all its eggs in one basket, hoping audiences can form deep, meaningful connections with digital, replaceable icons we use to text our friends. I can't think of a more surface-level, juvenile concept for a kids' movie.

#5 - The Wild, 2006 (1/10)

I had completely forgotten about this bizarre animated movie we once rented from Blockbuster Video. An obvious yet humorless Madagascar rip-off with a surprisingly star-studded cast, this one is all over the place.

#6 - Howard the Duck, 1986 (2/10)

If you want to feel super uncomfy for nearly two hours, give this Marvel movie a try. That's right, I said Marvel. Fun Fact, Howard the Duck is actually the first major live-action feature film ever produced by Marvel. Go Figure.

#7 - The Happening, 2008 (2/10)

I love Mark Wahlberg, but I think the script and overall concept failed him here. So many scenes in this movie are supposed to feel suspenseful, sad, or scary, but the film's main conflict and characters' reactions to it don't mesh and deliver a jumbled mess of a plot to audiences. Another one of M. Night Shyamalan's weakest films unfortunately.

#8 - The Goldfinch, 2019 (2/10)

I went to see this with some college friends the week it came out and we all left the theater feeling mentally and emotionally drained. This is a dark, dreary, depressing movie I would never watch again.

#9 - After, 2019 (2/10)

I feel like this movie and all the others in the series exist just to make my generation look bad. There isn't even one likeable character in this film, every single one is hellbent on making the most irrational, petty decisions they possibly can to get back at other characters or sabotage their own relationships.

#10 - Cinderella, 2021 (3/10)

I don't really understand why this film exists. There have been so many adaptations of Cinderella over the years. This installment was outright unnecessary and a little cringe.

***Dishonorable Mentions***

Moana, 2026 (2/10)

I haven't seen it and I probably never will. But I know it deserves to be on this list somewhere, if only in dishonorable mentions.

The Secret Life of Pets, 2016 (3/10)

I don't understand how this movie received decent reviews. The plot was all over the place, the characters were annoying and selfishly motivated, and the jokes were stale. My siblings and I almost left the theater it was so bad.
