Pritam and Pedro Ending Explained: Who Is Martin and Where Was Vinny Really Hiding?

Spoiler Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Pritam and Pedro, including Martin’s identity, Vinny’s kidnapping mystery and the final lighthouse confrontation.

Rajkumar Hirani’s Pritam and Pedro combines cybercrime, comedy, emotion and mystery in a story about two completely different men forced to work together. The JioHotstar series began streaming on July 3, 2026, and marks Hirani’s long-format OTT debut.

At the centre of the story are Pedro, an old-school police inspector who struggles with computers, and Pritam, a highly intelligent ethical hacker who appears to be an ordinary man but carries a disturbing secret from his past.

What begins with an ATM robbery eventually develops into a dangerous kidnapping case involving Sports Minister Dileep Sardesai’s young son, Vinny. But the biggest surprise is that the kidnapping is connected to Pritam himself.

How Pritam and Pedro Meet

Pedro first encounters Pritam after Pritam arrives at a police station to report his grandfather’s stolen tape recorder.

The police initially treat the complaint as insignificant because they are dealing with a much larger ATM robbery. However, the tape recorder contains recordings of Pritam’s late grandmother, making it emotionally priceless to his grandfather.

When Pritam claims that he can identify the ATM thieves within minutes, Pedro allows him to use a computer.

Using digital information, phone activity and online clues, Pritam successfully identifies the suspects and leads the police to the stolen ATM.

Pedro immediately realizes that Pritam understands a world of technology that he himself barely understands.

That skill becomes extremely important after Pedro is transferred to the cybercrime department as punishment following an embarrassing incident involving the Sports Minister.

Pedro Needs Pritam’s Cyber Skills

Pedro hates his new department.

He understands traditional police work, guns, criminals and interrogations, but concepts such as servers, cloud storage and hacking leave him completely confused.

To earn his transfer back to the crime branch, Pedro needs to solve cybercrime cases.

His solution is simple: get Pritam to help him.

Their unusual partnership begins producing results, including stopping a police officer named Carlos from killing his wife, her lover and himself.

But their biggest case begins when the Sports Minister’s son Vinny suddenly disappears.

Who Kidnapped Vinny?

Vinny apparently enters his house after returning from school, but CCTV footage never shows him leaving.

Soon, the family receives a ransom demand for ₹5 crore.

Pedro and Pritam initially trace the calls toward a man connected with Shraddha, Vinny’s mother. They eventually discover that Shraddha had been secretly meeting an ex-boyfriend.

Her former lover had demanded money and threatened to expose compromising photographs of them.

The original plan involved staging Vinny’s kidnapping so money could be extracted from the minister.

However, another person is secretly manipulating everything.

That person is Martin.

Who Is Martin in Pritam and Pedro?

Martin is far more dangerous than the criminals Pedro normally deals with.

He is an exceptionally skilled hacker who can manipulate phones, accounts, networks and digital information while staying several steps ahead of the police.

But Martin’s involvement is personal.

During the investigation, Martin suddenly calls Pritam by another name:

Kabir Sahani.

This reveals that Pritam has been hiding his real identity.

Years earlier, Kabir was an engineering student. He had a strict professor named Fonseca. After being humiliated by the professor, Kabir decided to take revenge.

He hacked Fonseca’s email account and discovered intimate photographs involving the professor.

Kabir then distributed those photographs to people at the college and to Fonseca’s wife.

The public humiliation destroyed Fonseca emotionally, and he eventually died by suicide after jumping from a lighthouse.

Kabir was devastated by the consequences of what he had done. He changed his identity, became Pritam and tried to disappear.

Martin is revealed to be Professor Fonseca’s son.

His entire revenge plan is therefore aimed at Kabir.

Why Does Martin Want Pritam Dead?

Martin believes Pritam destroyed his family.

He wants Pritam to experience the same helplessness and suffering that his father experienced.

After confronting Pritam, Martin orders him to jump from the same lighthouse where Professor Fonseca died.

Pritam is given a deadline.

If he refuses to die, Martin threatens to kill Vinny.

To make the threat even more horrifying, Martin sends photographs apparently showing Vinny with severed fingers.

For Pedro and Pritam, saving Vinny becomes a race against time.

The Biggest Twist: Vinny Was Never With Martin

Near the climax, Pedro notices something strange about Vinny’s photographs.

When Pedro first met Vinny, the boy had a visible burn mark on his hand.

But the photographs supposedly showing Vinny’s injured fingers do not contain the same burn mark.

Pritam examines them and realizes the truth:

The photographs are AI-generated.

Martin never actually had Vinny with him.

This changes the entire investigation.

If Vinny was never physically kidnapped and CCTV never showed him leaving the house, there is only one logical possibility.

Vinny is still somewhere inside his own home.

Where Was Vinny Hiding?

The answer comes from the mysterious online game Vinny had been playing.

The game had been giving him increasingly dangerous tasks while collecting information about his surroundings.

Pritam realizes Vinny had secretly collected survival-related items, including food and other supplies.

Another strange clue suddenly becomes important: the cook had earlier complained that noodles were coming through the water system.

All the clues point toward one location.

Vinny is hiding inside the house’s water tank.

Pedro immediately asks the police to inspect it.

They find Vinny alive inside.

The shocking kidnapping mystery was therefore partly an elaborate digital manipulation. Martin used the game and psychological control to convince Vinny to hide himself while making everyone believe he had been abducted.

Pritam and Martin’s Lighthouse Fight

Meanwhile, Pritam goes to the lighthouse because Martin expects him to recreate Professor Fonseca’s death.

Martin is already waiting there.

Once Pritam reveals that he has discovered Vinny’s location, Martin realizes that his plan has failed.

The confrontation turns violent.

Pedro eventually reaches the lighthouse and gets Martin at gunpoint.

But then something unexpected happens.

Pritam protects Martin.

He tells Pedro that the man standing there is not Martin, even though Pedro understands perfectly well that he is lying.

Pedro nevertheless allows Martin to escape.

Why Does Pritam Save Martin?

Pritam does not save Martin because he believes Martin is innocent.

He saves him because he feels responsible for creating him.

Years earlier, Martin was simply Professor Fonseca’s son. Pritam’s reckless hacking and public humiliation of Fonseca destroyed the family and started the chain of events that eventually transformed Martin into a criminal.

Pritam cannot change what happened to Professor Fonseca.

But he can give Martin something he never gave the professor:

another chance.

Martin is surprised by the decision, and the revenge that has controlled his life finally begins to lose its power.

What Happens at the End of Pritam and Pedro?

Vinny returns safely to his family.

Martin begins reconsidering his actions and even returns the money connected with the kidnapping plan.

Pedro and his wife Stacey also begin repairing their damaged relationship.

Pritam finds an emotional solution for his grandfather as well. Although the original cassette containing his grandmother’s voice is never properly recovered, Stacey’s singing sounds remarkably similar to hers. Pritam records the song and plays it for his grandfather, bringing back the happiness that the missing tape recorder represented.

Pedro, meanwhile, expects that solving the minister’s son’s case will finally earn him a transfer back to the crime department.

Unfortunately, another policeman takes much of the public credit for finding Vinny.

So Pedro and Pritam end the story almost exactly where their strange partnership started—still trying to figure out how Pedro can escape the cyber cell.

Pritam and Pedro Ending Meaning

The ending is ultimately about the consequences of technology rather than technology itself.

Pritam once used hacking as a weapon because he wanted revenge for a small humiliation. He never imagined that exposing someone’s private life could destroy a family.

Years later, Martin repeats the same cycle on a much larger scale.

Vinny’s storyline adds another warning: children can enter dangerous digital spaces without parents realizing what is happening.

The series therefore connects cybercrime with something much more human—anger, guilt, loneliness, revenge and forgiveness.

Pritam cannot undo his biggest mistake, but by refusing to continue the cycle of revenge, he finally begins to make peace with it.

And that is what makes the ending of Pritam and Pedro more than simply the conclusion of a kidnapping mystery.
