This article contains major spoilers for Prince and Family (2025), including the complete story and ending.

What Is Prince and Family About?

Prince and Family is a 2025 Malayalam comedy-drama starring Dileep as Prince Chakkalakkal and Raniya Raanaa as Chinju Rani.

Prince is a quiet, responsible man who runs a bridal boutique and spends much of his life looking after his family. Despite being the eldest brother, he remains unmarried while his younger brothers move ahead with their own families.

After several disappointing marriage proposals, Prince is almost ready to give up. Then he receives an unexpected matrimonial request from 24-year-old Chinju Elsa Rani.

Prince cannot understand why a much younger woman would be interested in him, but the proposal moves quickly. Before he fully understands Chinju’s personality, the two are married.

That is when Prince discovers that his new wife lives almost every moment of her life for social media.

Chinju Rani and Her Social Media World

Chinju is not simply active online—being an influencer has become her identity.

She films family moments, creates vlogs, follows trends and constantly thinks about subscribers, views and engagement. Prince, on the other hand, values privacy.

Even their wedding night becomes a perfect example of their different worlds.

Prince expects the couple to finally have some private time together, but Chinju is busy editing their wedding video because her subscribers are waiting for it.

For Prince, the moment that should belong only to a husband and wife has already become content.

At first, many of these situations are played for comedy. Gradually, however, Chinju’s obsession begins causing serious problems.

The Pregnancy Prank Changes Everything

One of the biggest turning points comes when Chinju tells Prince’s family that she is pregnant.

Everyone becomes emotional and excited.

Then Chinju reveals that it was only a prank recorded for social media.

For her, it is entertaining content. For Prince and his family, childbirth and pregnancy are deeply emotional subjects.

Prince finally loses patience. He tells Chinju that his parents and relatives are not characters she can repeatedly turn into prank videos.

Their argument exposes the real problem in the marriage: Chinju sees content everywhere, while Prince wants some parts of life to remain personal.

How the Restaurant Controversy Gets Out of Control

The situation becomes much darker when Chinju targets Safiya’s small restaurant through her online content.

Prince knows Safiya and trusts her food. He even tries to defend the restaurant publicly.

But Chinju is desperate to protect her online credibility.

When teenage girl Shilpa becomes seriously ill, online reports quickly claim that she suffered food poisoning after eating food connected to Safiya’s restaurant.

The accusation goes viral.

The restaurant is attacked, Safiya’s reputation is destroyed and the online mob decides she is guilty before the complete facts are known.

Unable to handle the humiliation and destruction of everything she built, Safiya attempts suicide and ends up in critical condition.

Only then does Chinju fully understand how dangerous an irresponsible viral story can become.

Was Safiya Responsible for Shilpa’s Death?

No.

The investigation eventually reveals that the original online narrative was wrong.

Shilpa had not died because of food from Safiya’s restaurant. The postmortem and phone evidence reveal an entirely different reason behind her death.

The revelation becomes the movie’s strongest message: once misinformation spreads online, correcting it later cannot always repair the damage already done.

Safiya has already lost her business, her dignity and nearly her life.

Prince and Family Ending Explained

After the truth comes out, Chinju faces serious consequences for what happened.

However, Safiya eventually gives a statement saying she has no complaint against her. This allows Chinju to move forward.

Prince still decides that their marriage cannot continue in the same way.

He plans to leave for Bangalore and tells Chinju that they are probably not right for each other.

Prince points out something painful: Chinju may have millions of followers, but when her life falls apart, how many genuine friends are actually standing beside her?

He also admits that he still cares deeply for her.

Rather than becoming enemies, Prince says he would rather remain someone who will always care about her.

That conversation finally breaks through Chinju’s obsession with her online identity.

She realises Prince was never an obstacle to her success. He was one of the few people who genuinely loved her without caring about her followers or popularity.

Do Prince and Chinju Stay Together?

Yes.

Just when it appears that Prince will leave alone, Chinju chooses their relationship.

The two reconcile and prepare to begin a new chapter together in Bangalore.

But the movie ends with one final joke.

Chinju receives a call telling them that they have been shortlisted as a couple for Bigg Boss Season 7.

Her excitement immediately returns.

The ending deliberately leaves a small question: has Chinju completely changed, or does the attraction of fame still remain inside her?

Prince agrees to move forward with her anyway, suggesting that their second chance is based not on becoming perfect people but on understanding each other better.

What Does the Ending Really Mean?

The ending of Prince and Family is ultimately about the difference between followers and relationships.

Social media itself is not presented as the only problem. The real danger begins when views, likes and online validation become more important than empathy, privacy and truth.

Chinju spends much of the movie trying to build an audience.

By the end, she realises that millions of followers cannot automatically replace one person who genuinely stands beside you when everything goes wrong.

Prince and Chinju’s reunion therefore represents a second chance—not just for their marriage, but for Chinju to create a healthier relationship with fame.
