This article contains major spoilers for Police Complaint (2026), including the complete story, Advaita’s identity, Dr. Ram’s secret, and the final confrontation with Mahakali. Read only if you have watched the movie or want the entire ending explained.

Police Complaint (2026) Story Explained

Police Complaint turns a seemingly strange missing-father case into a supernatural revenge mystery.

The story becomes disturbing when a little girl named Advaita repeatedly visits a police station and asks the officers to find her father. The strange part is that she identifies a different man as her father almost every day.

Even more terrifying, the man she calls “Papa” dies around midnight.

Police officer Lakshmi initially believes Advaita may simply be confused or traumatized. But after several of the men identified by the girl die under mysterious circumstances, Lakshmi realizes that the child is connected to something much darker.

The mystery eventually links Advaita, her mother Sara, Krish, Dr. Ram and the dangerous Mahakali.

Why Does Advaita Call Different Men Her Father?

This is the central mystery of Police Complaint.

Advaita is not randomly choosing innocent men.

The people she identifies are connected to a horrific crime committed years earlier against her mother, Sara. Calling these men her “father” becomes a supernatural signal that another person responsible for Sara’s suffering has been selected for punishment.

The victims therefore appear unrelated at first, but the investigation gradually reveals that most of them share a dark connection.

Even the tea seller, who initially seems completely separate from the others, has a link to the same group.

Who Are Advaita, Sara and Krish?

The biggest answers arrive when the movie moves five years into the past.

Krish and Sara were in love, despite coming from different religious backgrounds. Their families opposed the relationship, so the couple married and started a life together.

Sara later became pregnant.

Krish had to travel to Australia for work, leaving Sara behind. During his absence, a desperate situation placed Sara in the path of Mahakali and his associates.

Sara was attacked and later killed as part of an effort to cover up what had happened.

Before dying, however, Sara managed to give birth to a baby girl.

That baby was Advaita.

Sara’s sister later found the child and took care of her, but Advaita eventually died as well. Around the same period, Krish, who had been left in a coma after being attacked while searching for the truth, also died.

That means the three mysterious supernatural figures are actually one destroyed family:

Krish, Sara and their daughter Advaita.

Their spirits return to punish the people responsible for destroying their lives.

What Is Dr. Ram’s Secret?

One of the darkest twists involves Dr. Ram, Lakshmi’s husband.

Lakshmi trusts Ram almost completely. Earlier in her career, when she investigated Sara’s disappearance, evidence connected to the case was sent to Ram.

Instead of revealing the truth, Ram gave Lakshmi misleading information.

Because Lakshmi trusted her husband, the investigation went in the wrong direction.

Years later, she discovers that Ram was connected to Mahakali’s criminal operation and had helped conceal the truth surrounding Sara’s death.

Lakshmi also discovers disturbing evidence about Ram’s treatment and exploitation of vulnerable women through his medical position.

The revelation destroys everything Lakshmi believed about her husband.

How Does Lakshmi Discover Ram Is Connected to the Old Case?

An old group photograph becomes one of the most important pieces of evidence.

Most of the men connected to the crime can be identified, but one person's face is unclear.

The breakthrough unexpectedly comes from Lakshmi’s daughter.

She recognizes Ram’s watch in the photograph and tells Lakshmi that the man is her father.

That small detail changes the entire investigation.

Lakshmi checks Ram’s belongings and records, and the truth begins to fall into place. The husband she trusted was connected to the same people she had been investigating.

Why Does Lakshmi Kill Ram?

The discovery is especially painful because it happens around Lakshmi and Ram’s wedding anniversary.

After learning the truth about Ram’s involvement and his other crimes, Lakshmi decides to punish him herself.

She poisons the milk she gives him, and Ram dies.

This also changes the plans of Advaita and Krish. Since Lakshmi has already dealt with Ram, their supernatural revenge moves toward the final remaining targets:

Charlie and Mahakali.

What Is Mahakali Trying to Do?

While the revenge killings are happening, Mahakali is pursuing an entirely different goal: immortality.

For years, he has been involved in a spiritual ritual designed to make him impossible to kill.

By the climax, Mahakali is close to completing the final stage of the ritual.

If he succeeds, neither humans nor spirits may be able to stop him.

Mahakali also realizes that Lakshmi has discovered the truth and killed Ram, so she becomes another threat that must be eliminated.

He brings Lakshmi to the location of his final ritual under the pretext of security arrangements.

It is actually a trap.

Police Complaint Ending Explained

The climax brings together Lakshmi, Mahakali, Charlie and the spirits of Sara, Advaita and Krish.

Lakshmi is attacked by Mahakali’s men while Mahakali continues the ritual.

When Lakshmi becomes badly injured, the spirits of Sara and Advaita enter her, giving her supernatural strength.

Lakshmi fights back and eventually kills Charlie.

But Mahakali is far more powerful.

Even with supernatural help, Lakshmi struggles to defeat him.

That is when Krish arrives with the one object capable of changing the fight: a weapon created from Sara’s remains.

Lakshmi takes the weapon and strikes Mahakali.

His attempt to become immortal finally fails, and Mahakali is killed.

Why Do Sara, Advaita and Krish Leave Lakshmi Alive?

Lakshmi made serious mistakes during the original investigation, particularly because she trusted Ram’s false information.

However, she was not knowingly part of Sara’s destruction.

Once Lakshmi learns the truth, she corrects her mistake and risks her own life to stop the people responsible.

Because of this, the three spirits do not seek revenge against her.

With Mahakali dead and the people responsible for their tragedy punished, Sara, Krish and Advaita are finally liberated.

Their revenge is complete.

That is the emotional meaning behind the ending of Police Complaint: the supernatural killings are not random acts of horror but the final consequences of a crime that powerful people believed they had buried forever.

What Happens to Rush and Krish’s Promise?

One amusing loose end remains.

Earlier, Krish gives Rush a Rubik’s Cube and promises that helping him could eventually make Rush rich.

Rush follows Krish’s strange instructions and becomes involved in Lakshmi’s investigation.

However, by the end of the movie, the story never clearly reveals whether Rush actually receives the wealth Krish promised.

It remains one of the film’s unresolved threads.

Police Complaint Ending Meaning

The title Police Complaint has more significance than it first appears.

Advaita enters the police station looking for her “father,” but her complaint eventually exposes an entire chain of hidden crimes.

The movie revolves around the idea that crimes may be hidden temporarily, evidence may be manipulated, and powerful people may escape justice for years—but consequences eventually return.

Advaita’s repeated appearances force Lakshmi to investigate a case that should have been solved long ago.

In that sense, the supernatural revenge becomes the investigation that the victims never received while they were alive.
