‘Pennyworth’: S01.E06. “Cilla Black”
Will Pennyworth discover the identity of the killer?
The latest episode of Pennyworth, the Batman prequel series which chronicles Alfred Pennyworth’s (Jack Bannon) life before becoming the Wayne family’s butler, is an odd bucket of bolts.
In the opening scene, we see Lord James Harwood (Jason Flemyng) remembering who he is. In a previous episode, we saw the British Prime Minister (Richard Clothier) orchestrate Lord James’ torture. From the way the PM behaves while seeing Lord James be tortured, it looked as if he enjoyed seeing the leader of the Raven Society in pain. Since Lord James has been with Peggy (Polly Walker) and Bet Sykes (Paloma Faith), bit by bit, his memories of who he is have returned to him. Consequently, Lord James wants to see the PM dead for the horrors which were done to him. Who can blame Lord James? It’s not as if the PM doesn’t have it coming.
