Pegasus Motion Pictures Releases Trailer for Ip Man 3 Starring Donnie Yen
Earlier this week I decided to re-watch Ip Man and Ip Man 2 out of impulse and also because I have nothing but love for both movies.
Earlier this week I decided to re-watch Ip Man and Ip Man 2 out of impulse and also because I have nothing but love for both movies. After Ip Man 2 Donnie stated that he had no plans reprise the role and do another Ip Man movie. I was convinced that second installment was his last one and didn't really think much on it after that so imagine my surprise when Pegasus Motion Pictures posted the trailer for Ip Man 3 earlier today.
Donnie Yen returns as the titular Ip Man and this time is opponent is none other than Mike Tyson who will be playing a street fighter and property developer who challenges Ip Man. They're also going to feature Ip Man's most notorious student, Bruce Lee, in CGI. The choice to do a CGI Lee was because they couldn't find an actor that could fully capture Lee's badassery.
Judging from the trailer itself, it looks like this installment will follow the same formula as the previous movies of a man just trying to do his thing until a foreigner shows up that he has to Wing Chun into submission. I'm weirdly okay with that. I'll be real honest with you, I love the movies more for their fight scenes anyway. As soon as I can get my hands on it, I'm definitely going to give this movie a watch.
