The Ouran host club is where the schools handsomest boy with too much time on there hands entertain young ladies who also have way too much time on there hands. Just think of it as Ouran Academy's elegant playground for the super rich and beautiful." - Tamaki

REVIEW

This is the show that introduced me to anime. I have a soft spot in my heart for rom-coms and this definitely falls under that category. But speaking of introductions, the intro song to this show is so sappy and yet I love hearing it every time a new episode comes on. It's definitely very good at hyping you up for the shenanigans that go on in this show, and there are a lot. Each episode has it's own story and can make this a good starter anime. If you can't remember what happens in the first episode when you're on the 5th it won't make that big of a difference.

This isn't your typical shoujo anime where all the main male characters are in love with this cute feminine female lead. In this you have a few of the main characters and a few side characters (both male and female) fall in love with the female lead who is pretending to be a boy. This can make for a few odd situations. Like a boy falling in love with a girl, only everyone else thinks it's another boy, and all the girls hearts going out to him when he is rejected before he can even confess his love.

Like I said earlier, each episode has it's own story and sometimes it will end up spilling into the nest episode. Along with making it easy to follow, it also gives you a lot of new experiences to look forward to. They have an episode dedicated to Halloween and a scare competition. Like a lot of other animes out there, they have an episode dedicated to a beach visit. And one of my favorites is an episode that gives and Ouran twist to a famous tale, Alice in Wonderland.

It's a good go to show for a good laugh or to get you in a good mood. the characters compliment each other well bringing all sorts of elements. You have the charming idiot, the mischievous twins, the cutesy cake devour-er and his older big brotherly side kick, the cool business guy and the girl that everyone thinks is a boy. I can't even begin to count how many times this show has made me laugh so hard that I get embarrassed even when no one is around and even though I've seen it several times.

If you think this is your kind of anime and want to go watch it right this minute, here are a few places you can look to find it! This is available in both sub and dub for your enjoyment.

  • Hulu
  • Funimation
  • Amazon
  • Netflix

Thanks for letting my go on about another anime and I hope that you enjoyed. Come back next time for a review on more things to watch. Time to go and eat some sweets.

Nom, nom, nom! Have a good day! :)
