Ormund is Playing a Dangerous Game in House of the Dragon

In the recent episode of House of the Dragon, we now know that Ormund could possibly be the main villain of season 3. He is now desperate to win the war for the Hightower family, after finding out that King’s Landing has been taken over by Rhaenyra and her allies. He is determined to do whatever it takes to turn the tables on them, by capturing a random town full of innocent people. It is called Tumbleton, and it was mentioned multiple times back in season 2, because one random side character wanted to go to this town to avoid the starvation in King's Landing.

I was so confused with why this town was mentioned so many times, but it was actually a slow build up to a major villain that was going to take over the town. The people here were terrorized by this random army that showed up on their doorstep, where they must be forced to house the soldiers in their homes. Ormund Hightower is the cousin of Alicent Hightower and is the leader of this army. I was on his side at first, because he instantly punished a man that attempted to harm this specific side character from season 2, including her own family.

But then like the other villains in this series, Ormund showed his true colors. He was given one task, to look after Alicent's son, Daeron Hightower, to keep him away from the war.

Daeron is unfortunately pulled along for the ride, when the war gets worse for the Hightower family, and now they are trying to do whatever it takes to get back the throne they lost at the hands of Rhaenyra and her allies. Ormund was asked to hand over Daeron to Rhaenyra, as leverage to keep the Hightower family in line. Ormund had tricked Rhaenyra by handing over a different kid, which was quickly foiled once Alicent realized it wasn't her son.

Ormund is determined to keep Daeron safe, but now he wants to use the kid for his own agenda. Once he found out that Aemond and his huge pet dragon was going to be a no show for the war, he decided to make a hasty decision. He is now trying to convince Daeron to become the next king for the Seven Kingdoms. I was so upset with Ormund doing this, because Alicent sent her son away to Ormund, to be protected by him. Now he is being pulled into the war, because Ormund has now exposed him to his first taste of violence.

Daeron was introduced as a kind soul, who carries a huge love for his dragon. Ormund is wanting to change this innocent kid into a total monster, to hopefully have the Greens win the war.

I think this plan is going to heavily backfire on Ormund’s life.

There is a possibility that maybe he will turn the tide for the Greens to win the next battle, but his death is inevitable after this. I think that he will end up getting burned alive by Daeron’s dragon, as the ultimate karma for forcing him to become the next king.

I truly hope this is how he will meet his end, because he 100% deserves to die.

Ormund captured an innocent town, one of his soldiers attempted to harm one woman and broke the arm of another woman, and he then made Daeron murder a man that was from the same family of these two women...which made no damn sense, because I thought he wanted to protect these women, only to have a family member punished for harming the soldier that wanted to hurt the women???

Ormund definitely needs to be killed ASAP.
