Vying for MTV's 2016 Fandom Ship of The Year, Arrow's Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak took on Stydia (Styles and Lydia from Teen Wolf) and WestAllen (Barry and Iris from The Flash) to name a few. On July 23, 2016, Olicity was crowned the winner for the second year in a row. The official awards ceremony aired on Sunday, July 24th on MTV.

Though Olicity has suffered a setback this season, shipper fans remain convinced this couple will overcome their obstacles and reunite in Season 5. Some fans blame Olicity for what they consider to be the decline of the series. Regardless, the MTV Fandom Awards gives fans a voice, and they spoke loud and clear, letting the land of television know they believed in Olicity.

Stephen Amell accepts award / Justjaredjr.com

Stephen Amell was on hand to accept the trophy this year (both he and Emily Bett Rickards were unable to attend 2015's award ceremony) and announced the win to his co-star on his Facebook page while hugging the MTV Fandom balloons!

As long as there has been television, there have been shippers, though they may have been known by different names. Not everyone agrees with romantic pairings, and Olicity is no different. But even those that don't like this couple cannot deny the chemistry that exists between Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards onscreen.

Whether they are fighting, flirting, or helping one another, Oliver and Felicity are a team, and even if they aren't a couple in Season 5, the chemistry will remain. That's not something the stars can fake, and that's the reason this couple won the Ship of the Year Award. So even if you aren't a fan of their romance, Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards still deserve congratulations. It's a success in their chosen careers, and that is what we celebrate.
