They're not as nice as this guy

They have arrived--now the day can start! These little snobs think--no, they KNOW--the world revolves around them. Here are my Top 4 "Snootyboots" Cartoon Rich Kids. And they think it "sucks to be you" because you're not like them!

Bianca Dupree, BEVERLY HILLS TEENS

Bianca and Her Two Lapdogs

BEVERLY HILLS TEENS is what the Archie Gang would look like if all the kids were as rich as Veronica Lodge. And the one BHT who could give Ronnie a run for her money in the snootyboots department is the raven-haired shopaholic Alexis Carrington wannabe Bianca Dupree.

Accompanied by her little pink poodle Empress and her two-legged lapdog admirer Wilshire Brentwood--who doubles as her unpaid chauffeur--Bianca constantly schemes to get her way. Usually that means outdoing her good-as-gold blonde rival, Larke Tanner; and snatching Troy Jeffries, the hottest guy in the Hills, for herself. And since this is a cartoon for kids, Bianca always loses, even when she wins.

For instance, in the episode "That Winning Smile," Bianca grabs a lucrative modeling job away from Larke, only to have to do her own strenuous stunts, like diving into a vat of caviar--all while flashing "that winning smile." But doing stunts is WORK--the dirtiest four-letter word that Bianca knows, that pampered princess!

Still, Miss Dupree has her softer side--like when she attends Larke's slumber party or participates in a charity event--if only because it gives her the opportunity to shop for a new outfit!

Alexandra Cabot, JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS and JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS IN OUTER SPACE

The snootiest girl on Earth--or in space!

Alexandra, younger sister of the Pussycats' manager Alex Cabot III, takes green-eyed monsterdom to the top. Traveling with Josie and company, she, with her wicked little black cat Sebastian, is preoccupied with two things: stealing Josie's hunky blond boyfriend Alan and replacing Josie as lead singer and calling the group "Alexandra's Cool-Time Cats"--that is, when she's not helping the group fight the Villain of the Week.

For instance, when the group stops for Mexican food, Alexandra decides to slip extra-hot hot sauce in Josie's taco--and she ends up biting the too-hot taco! And when everyone goes ice skating, Alexandra orders Sebastian to trip up Josie. The cat accidentally cuts a hole in the ice in which Alexandra falls into. "Some days it just doesn't pay to play a dirty trick!" she laments.

When the Pussycats and their friends get lost in space--thanks to Alexandra tripping them up, of course--it is Miss Cabot who also trips up the gang's attempts to return to Earth.

Cindy Curbstone, THE PEBBLES AND BAMM-BAMM SHOW

When Cindy talks, teens listen

THE PEBBLES AND BAMM-BAMM SHOW features the misadventures of Fred Flintstone's daughter and Barney Rubble's son as Stone Age teenagers. And teenage Pebbles has a rich rival in the platinum blonde Cindy Curbstone.

Cindy, whose rich daddy owns half of Bedrock (her boyfriend Fabian Fabquartz's dad owns the other half), never misses an opportunity to put Pebbles in an embarrassing light, like the time they both competed for first prize in a "Most Unusual Photo" contest and Cindy snapped Pebbles' constant fumbling. (Peb won the contest anyway--with a closeup pic of her thumb!)

One of my favorite "Peb vs. Cindy" episodes has Pebbles boasting about knowing the band The Rolling Boulders and promising to secure them for Cindy's upcoming party. After the usual Pebbles mishaps, she did get the band to perform at the party--where Cindy introduced the Boulders as "my personal friends." The band's leader, Mick Jadestone, then introduced Pebbles as the band's "close personal friend." Take that, Ms. Curbstone!

Trevor Noseworthy IV, JAMES BOND JR.

Agent 007's intrepid teenage nephew fights the good fight against the forces of SCUM (Sabouters and Criminals United in Mayhem) after he and his gang escapes from their high-security high school, Warfield Academy. But Young Bond's biggest foe is right on campus--the ultra-full-of-himself Trevor Noseworthy the Fourth.

Trevor established himself as James' rival ever since the latter's first day at Warfield, and constantly tries to best him at sports, the school play, the science fair, whatever--and he especially likes wanting to tattle on James when he escapes to secretly fight SCUM. This being a kids' cartoon, of course Trevor always fails, getting himself in trouble with Mr. Millbanks, the Academy's headmaster; and Mr. Mitchell, the Phys Ed teacher and James' adult ally.

Trevor also has run-ins with SCUM, sometimes being mistaken for someone else. as when he's misidentified as his father, Trevor Noseworthy III, and hypnotized by the bad guys. Either way, James finds himself having to fish Trevor IV out of trouble, with Trevor not even being gracious enough to thank him. No wonder he's unpopular.

There they are--my Top 4 "Snootyboots" Cartoon Rich Kids. Wait--they're not rich, their fathers are!
