Must See Adult Romance Films

Maybe you’re into romance films like myself.

I'm a sucker for steamy romance films, I'll admit. A complete hopeless romantic. Maybe even the sappy kind.

So, in this article, I've compiled a list of some of the steamiest adult romance films that will leave you craving more...

***Bring your tissue boxes...they may come in handy for them for some of these.***

After: A Netflix Film (2019)

Although this film first premiered on Netflix in October 2019, it still presents itself as one of my favorite films in 2021.

I stumbled upon this title earlier in the year, while browsing Netflix for a romance film.

At first, I was skeptical about viewing it because the previews appeared cheap.

Nevertheless, I took a leap of faith and gave it a chance and boy, I didn't regret it!

Since my initial viewing, I've become addicted!

Synopsis

The story of Tessa and Hardin touched my heart in more ways than one. Their story is romantic, yet complicated all at once.

Tessa Young is just another normal college student, dedicated to her schooling, and a yet a loyal girlfriend to her high school sweetheart, Noah. That is, until she meets Hardin Scott, a mysterious bad boy who captures her heart the moment she lays eyes on him.

Despite dating Noah, she pursues Hardin nonetheless.

Not everything in Tessa and Hardin's relationship is "glitter and gold," as the saying goes. They disagree more than the average couple and entertain unhealthy alternatives, rather than communicating with each other effectively.

But, there is something about Hardin that Tessa just can't relinquish.

All is good for a while, as most romance films usually are. The two fall madly in love, and are totally consumed by one another.

Then a conflict arises. A big conflict.

Hardin is hiding something. Something really horrific.

Will Hardin's secret destroy what he and Tessa have worked so hard to build together?

***I won't ruin it for those who haven't seen this film, but I would be lying if I said I didn't cry during this movie! It's truly an emotional roller coaster. These two characters are infuriating 99% of the time, but it's hard not to fall in love with them nonetheless.

Furthermore, the steamy scenes were truly intimate, and gave me all the feels!

Moreover, I discovered that this film was adapted from a book series written by Anna Todd.

So, of course I had to order the whole entire series!***

Which brings me to my next recommendation...

After We Collided (2020)

Released in 2020 on Netflix and other major platforms, After We Collided is the sequel to After (2019).

The film picks directly up from the major cliffhanger left behind from the ending of the first film.

If you thought the first film was addicting and infuriating, this film doesn't disappoint either.

Synopsis

Tessa and Hardin's relationship resumes once more, despite the hurdle that was thrown their way in the first film.

Time is what they needed in order to grow and realize how important their love truly is.

Love overcomes all obstacles, I'd like to believe. At least that's how love is portrayed in the film adaptation of After We Collided.

But, now the issue of trust arises...Can Tessa ever trust Hardin again after his secret is revealed?

Did I fail to mention that thus secret was revealed in the worst possible way (in the first film)?

Tessa and Hardin's relationship is rocky and back-and-forth in this installment.

At times, I wish I could have screamed at them myself; they are both stubborn, but yet so in love. And love can hurt. I found myself empathizing with these characters throughout the entire film.

Hardin is controlling, whilst Tessa yearns to be independent and still make a life for herself with Hardin included.

However, Hardin doesn't make things easy for Tessa, but things have a way of working themselves out in the end.

I dare say no more for those who have yet to view this film; I don't want to spoil it!

Moreover, the sexual scenes in this film are definitely steamier than its antecedent.

The third installment of this series is currently still in the works, and an official release date is unknown. But, if you're like me, you will most likely order the books and continue Tessa and Hardin's story from there...

Which brings me to my next recommendation...

365 DNI (365 Days): A Netflix Film

I found myself craving more of Tessa and Hardin's toxicity, and I happened to stumble upon 365 DNI on Netflix.

At first, I was skeptic about viewing the film; it hadn't had many positive reviews and such at the time.

Nonetheless, I decided to take a chance on it, too. And yet again, Netflix didn't disappoint!

Although, the nature of this film is entirely different than my previous recommendations, it is truly a must see!

***Most of the film is in a secondary language, other than English, but subtitles are included.***

***Strong sexual context and nudity are included in this film; I would only recommend this to adults.***

Synopsis

The film starts out with the protagonist, Massimo, who happens to be the son of one of Italy's biggest Mafia's bosses, engaged in a secret meeting with his father and a group of unknown businessmen atop a tall building near the sea.

Massimo isn't entirely interested in the meeting at the time, because he is yet to take over the family business.

An unpredicted chain of events occur, which leaves Massimo's father dead, and Massimo severely wounded.

During Massimo's near death experience, as he faded into unconsciousness, the last thing he envisioned before his eyes was a woman (who we later find out is Laura Biel).

This seems impossible because there was actually no woman at the crime scene.

For years after his takeover as the new Mafia boss, Massimo and his associates convince him that he had merely imagined the woman.

However, Massimo is determined to find the woman of his vision.

It wasn't until Laura Biel, who happened to be the woman in Massimo's vision, decided to take a trip from her home in Warsaw to Sicily for her 29th birthday, that Massimo saw for himself that the woman in his vision was indeed real.

Massimo is determined to make her his. He doesn't leave Laura much of a choice when he decides to kidnap her on the night of her birthday, from a hotel that she and her boyfriend were staying at.

Massimo takes Laura to his massive home in Sicily, and holds her captive, where he gives her 365 days to fall in love with him.

He gives her an ultimatum: if the next year on her birthday, her feelings haven't changed, he agrees to set her free.

Of course, any sane person would totally flip out, which Laura did in the beginning.

However, her feelings do end up changing as the film progresses. Massimo seems to grow in her.

It is quite the love story. Maybe not the traditional kind of love story, but the love is still present.

I don't want to spoil this one either because it has an intriguing storyline to it, despite the very graphic sex scenes included.

Not to mention, the ending is devastating and unnerving. The film ends on a major cliffhanger.

***After doing extensive research, I discovered that this film was actually an adaptation from a series of novels written by Polish author, Blanka Lipinska. Blanka mostly writes Erotic Fiction novels.

Even further investigation led me to her books, which were only available in Polish language at the time.

However, the book, 365 Days, was translated to English this year and was released on February 2, 2021.

Of course, I bought it and read it within one day!

In conclusion, there are many more recommendations I could offer you on steamy romances, but I think 365 DNI was by far the best. I've watched all three of these films multiple times, and I'm still addicted. I hope you enjoy these films as well!
