M.R.P Neekentha Naakentha Review: Is This Hindi-Dubbed Dark Comedy Worth Watching?
Three roommates, a failed business, a dangerous gangster and one chaotic plan — M.R.P delivers a familiar but entertaining crime-comedy ride.

If you enjoy dark comedy movies where ordinary people get trapped in extraordinary trouble, M.R.P – Neekentha Naakentha? might be worth adding to your watchlist.
I was a little late watching this movie because so much new OTT content has been released recently that covering everything at once is almost impossible. However, I finally completed M.R.P, and after watching its chaotic story unfold, I would describe it as a decent one-time entertainer rather than a must-watch thriller.
What Is M.R.P Neekentha Naakentha About?
M.R.P is a dark comedy thriller with a runtime of around 2 hours and 22 minutes. The story revolves around three friends who are also roommates.
Like many young people dreaming of becoming financially independent, they decide that instead of continuing with their regular lives, they should start their own business.
There is only one major problem: they need money.
The trio eventually borrows a huge amount from a gangster to finance their business idea. Unfortunately, things do not go according to plan. Their business fails, they suffer a major financial loss, and they are unable to repay the gangster on time.
And borrowing money from a dangerous gangster is obviously very different from missing a normal bank payment.
Their financial problem soon becomes a matter of survival.
From this point, the movie follows the three friends as they desperately search for ways to arrange money, escape danger and somehow save themselves from the consequences of their decisions.
I will not reveal exactly what they do because that would spoil some of the movie's funniest and most important moments.

A Familiar Story With Dark Comedy
The biggest weakness of M.R.P Neekentha Naakentha is its basic storyline.
Friends borrowing money, getting trapped in debt and then trying increasingly crazy methods to escape criminals is not a completely fresh concept. We have already seen variations of this setup in several crime comedies.
Because of that, the movie sometimes feels predictable.
The filmmakers could have done more to make the presentation feel unique. A familiar concept is not necessarily a problem if the execution gives viewers something unexpected, but M.R.P does not always manage to do that.
However, if you ignore the lack of originality, there is still enough entertainment here for a casual watch.
The Second Half Is Much Better
For me, the first half was relatively slow.
It spends considerable time establishing the friends, their problems and how they reach their disastrous financial situation. Some viewers may feel that the movie takes too long to reach its most entertaining section.
The second half is where M.R.P becomes much more enjoyable.
Once the consequences of their unpaid debt become serious, the movie embraces its dark-comedy side. The characters keep falling into increasingly ridiculous situations while trying to find money and stay alive.
This combination of gangster danger, desperate plans and comedy creates some genuinely entertaining moments.
The second half definitely worked better for me than the first.
Should You Watch M.R.P?
That depends on your expectations.
Do not start M.R.P expecting an extraordinary crime thriller with a completely unpredictable storyline.
Instead, watch it as a light dark-comedy entertainer.
If you enjoy movies involving friendship, gangsters, money problems, crime and situational comedy, you can give it a chance. It may not stay in your memory for very long, but it can entertain you for one evening.
In simple words: watch it once, enjoy the chaos and move on.
Where to Watch M.R.P in Hindi
Another interesting thing about the movie is its OTT availability.
M.R.P – Neekentha Naakentha? is streaming on both JioHotstar and Amazon Prime Video, with Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam language options listed for streaming.
That gives viewers more flexibility depending on which OTT subscription they already have.
Final Verdict
M.R.P Neekentha Naakentha is neither a brilliant dark comedy nor a terrible movie.
Its biggest problem is the familiar storyline and a comparatively slow first half. But the entertaining second half, gangster-related chaos and comedy make it a reasonable one-time watch.
If crime-comedy movies are your thing, you can definitely consider giving it a chance.
