Mint Blockchain: Claim the Genesis NFT

Overview of the new Mint blockchain

Over the last couple of days a new blockchain called Mint has been trending on Twitter/X with many influencers that I follow vouching for its great potential in 2024.

In this post I will cover what exactly is the Mint blockchain about and how is different from the other innumerable chains out there.

I will also talk about the Genesis NFT which they have shared with people with significant NFT trade history. I will share my view if this NFT will be worth something or the demand now is purely speculative.

What is Mint Blockchain?

The vision statement of Mint looks at the crypto environment as having 3 phases.

The first phase was Bicoin, the second phase was Altcoins and the future will be driven mainly by NFTs.

They aim to design the first blockchain designed solely for NFTs. It will address all the issues with NFT space like transaction fees, interoperability between chains, lack of central marketplaces for gaming NFTs, giving fair share of revenue to creators etc.

They have an aggressive roadmap planned to complete their implementation and main net launch by 2024 itself.

They have a good head start as they already have the testate ready and a strong community of 100K followers on Twitter is closely following their each move.

What is the Genesis NFT?

They have shared a portal link where you can connect your wallet and see if you are eligible to mint their Genesis NFT. You can access it here - https://www.mintchain.io/claim

Once you connect your wallet it will share snapshots of NFT history of your wallet. Which was your first NFT purchase and when did you make your first purchase. It will show your volume history covering how many NFTs you bought, how many you sold. Which was your biggest profit in NFT trade and which was your biggest loss.

After this they will take to the page where you can see if you are eligible or not for the claim.

Though I did not see any specific eligibility criteria, it seems if you have done a decent amount of NFT related transactions you will be eligible.

It will be a free mint on Ethereum where you just need to pay for gas so pick a time when the gas fee is low so you unnecessarily don’t waste money on transaction fees.

The Genesis NFT is already traceable at Opensea and Elements marketplace. It is seeing a high volume of transaction with the floor at around 0.01ETH which is quite high for a free mint. NFTs minted with a lower mint ID are commanding a premium with people paying as high as 0.05 ETH for NFTs with mint ID less than a 1,000.

My Take on the Project!

I think this project is still in very early phase of it’s roadmap so it is very hard to judge whether it will successful long term or not. The reason why I am going to month Genesis NFT is because in a bull market the sentiment in general is positive and if the market keeps getting more bullish in 2024 than projects with an average level of innovation can also get huge demand.

The main differentiating factor for Mint is the exclusive focus on NFTs. We now that the market focus sifted away form NFTs during 2023 and it was the market segment that saw the biggest losses with many big projects collapsing. There is a good chance that once the bull market gains momentum there will again be interest in NFT space specially around the gaming sector.

In many recent airdrops they have given a good weightage to hold Genesis NFTs so I see no harm in grabbing a free mint and keeping my fingers crossed for a big juicy airdrop in the future.

Cheers,

Sam
