Media That Feels Like Fall

Movies, TV, Music

Harry Potter - Books and Movies

This one is pretty self explanatory, they start school in the fall. All of the feats and common rooms are cuddly and warm. And both the books and movies provide a sense of comfort and warmth. They are the perfect marathon for cuddling up with apple cider, while listening to the rain outside. While I strongly recommend a full marathon as that is really the only way to truly experience the full awesomeness of the series, if you are short on time I highly recommend The Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire and both parts of The Deathly Hallows. I will be having a full marathon as well as re-reading the series for the uptenth time, happy spell casting!

Gilmore Girls

This applies to all seven seasons of the original series and A Year in the Life. Both parts of this beloved TV show have the same vibe. This is the cuddliest of shows, I used to watch it with my mom so it does hold a special place in my heart. Now it's totally understandable to not be able to watch or rewatch the entire series before the end of the year, some people have lives. That said, my favorite cold weather episodes are; 2.10 The Bracebridge Dinner, 3.9 A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving, 5.11 A Woman of Questionable Morals, 7.18 The Haybale Maze, and the Fall episode of A Year in the Life.

Sherlock

Now this one is not really explainable, it's more of a feeling. The BBC Sherlock series feels like fall and I can’t give any further explanation then that because I honestly can’t pinpoint it. It might be the overcast, rainy London sky or the cuddly Sherlock coat and scarf but the show is short and sweet at only a few seasons at three episodes each. Sherlock is a very easy show to catch up on this fall. But if you don’t want to sit through over 1,000 minutes of crime solving fun my favorite episodes are; 1.1 A Study in Pink, 1.3 The Great Game, 2.1 A Scandal in Belgravia, 2.3 The Reichenbach Fall, 3.2 The Sign of Three, 4.3 The Final Problem. Though I strongly recommend the whole series, it is the best on screen adaptation of Sherlock Holmes.

Folklore/Evermore

The first and only set of music on here because absolutely no one tops Ms. Swift. The last two albums in her discography speak of growth and change and the sound is warm, and comforting. With no skips on either album these are the perfect soundtracks to your fall activities. Let Ms. Swift provide the sounds of your pumpkin patch visit, baking time and softly in the background as you read those fall books.

Fall is the start of my favorite time of the year, though I tend to skip straight to Christmas I plan to keep my content creation on a normal human timeline. But be fully prepared for many Christmas articles as there will be many. Now this is a lot of media to consume in just a few months and I realize that not everyone is me so my final recommendation is Taylor Swift as you can listen to these wonderful albums while you drive as well as when you do things around the house. And Sherlock or Gilmore Girls depending on your tastes. If you like slice of life stakes and more personal stories then watch Gilmore Girls and if you like crime solving and a ridiculously hot man solving these crimes with clues only he could pick up on then go enjoy BBC’s Sherlock! Happy Fall and enjoys some wonderful media.
