Mai Ending Explained: Who Killed Supriya? Prashant’s Shocking Truth Revealed
Sakshi Tanwar’s Mai: A Mother’s Rage ends with a devastating betrayal as Sheel finally discovers who was really responsible for her daughter Supriya’s murder.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Mai: A Mother’s Rage, including Supriya’s murder mystery and the final episode twist.
Mai Ending Explained
Mai: A Mother’s Rage begins as the story of a grieving mother, but by the finale it has transformed into a dark tale of revenge, corruption and betrayal.
Sheel Chaudhary’s life changes completely after her daughter Supriya is suddenly killed by a truck. What initially appears to be a tragic road accident soon begins to look suspicious.
The truck driver, Madan, behaves as though he is hiding something. His family suddenly seems to be receiving financial help, including an opportunity for his son to study at an expensive school. For Sheel, these clues are enough to believe that Supriya’s death was not an accident.
She decides to discover the truth herself, even if doing so means entering an extremely dangerous criminal world.
Why Was Supriya Killed?
Before her death, Supriya had discovered suspicious activities connected to medical camps and the movement of illegal money.
She knew too much.
Neelam attempted to silence her by offering her ₹10 lakh, but Supriya did not simply take the money and disappear. Instead, she donated the money to Geeta Bhawan.
That decision showed exactly why Supriya had become dangerous to the people running the operation. She could not easily be bought.
Sheel initially believes powerful figures such as Jawahar and Neelam must be directly responsible for what happened to her daughter. But the deeper she investigates, the more complicated the truth becomes.
What Happened to Jawahar?
Jawahar becomes one of the most important people in Sheel’s investigation.
Believing he knows something about Supriya’s murder, Sheel secretly confronts him. She injects him with a drug and restrains him so that she can force him to reveal the truth.
However, Jawahar suffers a medical emergency.
Sheel desperately tries to save him, even performing chest compressions, but Jawahar dies.
His death pulls Sheel even deeper into the criminal conspiracy.
Prashant and Shankar eventually help cover up what happened. This becomes especially important because Sheel begins trusting Prashant as someone who can help her survive the dangerous world surrounding Jawahar, Neelam and the missing crypto key.
That trust becomes the biggest mistake of her journey.
The Crypto Key and Neelam’s Fate
After Jawahar’s death, everyone desperately searches for a crypto key connected to a huge amount of money.
Sheel eventually becomes deeply involved in the battle surrounding the key. At the same time, she continues pursuing the people she believes were responsible for Supriya’s death.
Neelam becomes one of her biggest targets.
Sheel learns about Neelam’s asthma and eventually uses that weakness against her. Her revenge plan involves manipulating an inhaler so that when Neelam suffers an asthma attack, the inhaler she receives does not save her.
During Neelam’s recorded deposition, she begins struggling to breathe. An inhaler is brought to her, but it is the one connected to Sheel’s plan.
Neelam dies.
For a moment, it appears Sheel has finally punished one of the central figures connected to Supriya’s tragedy.
But Mai saves its most painful revelation for the end.
Who Really Killed Supriya?
The biggest twist comes when Sheel visits Prashant’s house.
There, she overhears Madan’s wife talking to him.
She reveals that Prashant was the person who told Madan to run Supriya over with the truck.
In exchange, Madan had apparently been promised a better future for his family, including help for his child.
This completely changes Sheel’s understanding of everything that has happened.
Throughout much of her investigation, Prashant had appeared to be her ally. He helped her at critical moments, covered up evidence and assisted her while she navigated the criminal network.
But he was actually connected to the murder she had been trying to solve from the beginning.
Jawahar Was Trying to Protect Supriya
There is another painful layer to the ending.
Sheel realizes that Jawahar was not necessarily trying to have Supriya killed.
He had actually been trying to protect her from Prashant.
Earlier clues suddenly make much more sense. Jawahar’s statement about trying to “save” Supriya was not simply another criminal lie.
Sheel had misunderstood the situation.
She accidentally caused Jawahar’s death while believing he was part of the conspiracy against her daughter, while the person much closer to the truth was standing beside her and gaining her trust.
That makes the finale more tragic than a simple revenge story.
Why the Prashant Twist Matters
Prashant being responsible for arranging Supriya’s death changes the meaning of Sheel’s entire journey.
She spends the series moving through a world where almost nobody can be trusted. Every answer exposes another secret, and every person who appears guilty may only be one piece of something much bigger.
Most importantly, Sheel herself changes.
At the beginning, she is an ordinary mother devastated by the death of her daughter. By the end, she has learned to manipulate criminals, hide bodies, deceive investigators and even engineer deaths.
She wanted justice for Supriya, but finding that justice gradually pushed her across moral boundaries she could never have imagined crossing before her daughter died.
And after everything she has done, the final revelation tells her that the investigation is still not truly over.
Mai Ending Meaning
The ending of Mai: A Mother’s Rage is ultimately about betrayal.
Sheel believed she was slowly getting closer to the people who destroyed Supriya’s life. She targeted Jawahar, fought against Neelam and survived multiple dangerous situations.
Yet the most important enemy was much closer than she realised.
Prashant had helped her, advised her and benefited from her trust while hiding his connection to Supriya’s murder.
That final discovery leaves Sheel with an even more personal reason for revenge.
She has already lost her daughter and crossed almost every line she once believed she would never cross. Now she knows the man who helped send her down this path may also be the man who started it.
And that is what makes the ending of Mai so effective: Sheel finally discovers the truth, only to realise that the person she trusted was hiding the darkest secret of all.
