Spoiler Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Maamla Legal Hai Season 2, including important courtroom cases and the ending.

Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 Story Explained

Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 returns to the chaotic world of the courtroom with strange cases, funny situations, emotional conflicts and some surprisingly serious questions about justice.

The biggest change at the beginning of Season 2 is Tyagi’s new position. He is no longer simply an advocate. Tyagi has become a judge.

His friends, including Balli, are excited about his success, but Tyagi quickly discovers that sitting on the judge’s chair is completely different from arguing a case as a lawyer.

Even his oath ceremony becomes controversial.

While repeating the oath, Tyagi coughs around the phrase “without fear and favour,” creating confusion over whether he correctly repeated the oath. Some judges believe the ceremony should be held again.

Initially, Tyagi refuses because he feels he did nothing intentionally wrong. Eventually, however, he understands that the position of a judge depends not only on legal technicalities but also on public trust.

He voluntarily takes the oath again.

Ananya vs Naina: The Deodorant Case

One of the season’s biggest continuing cases involves a man whose underarms are badly affected after using deodorant.

Ananya takes his case and demands compensation from the company.

The company initially offers around ₹1 lakh, but her client wants much more. Making the situation harder is Naina, Ananya’s old competitor, who represents the other side.

Ananya believes laboratory testing will prove that the deodorant caused the injury.

However, the case suddenly turns against her when Rizwan claims that the client's skin was already unusually sensitive and could have reacted to almost any deodorant.

Ananya suspects that Naina has gained the advantage.

But she refuses to surrender.

Later, Ananya and Biswas secretly enter the manufacturing facility while carrying a spy camera. They discover information that could potentially damage the company, including questionable products and expired deodorants.

Their operation is discovered, and it initially appears that all their evidence has been lost.

Then Ananya plays her final trick.

She makes the company owner believe she still possesses damaging evidence. Worried about what could happen if the case continues, the company agrees to compensate her client.

Ananya finally wins the case.

Balli and Sujata’s Chamber Rivalry

Meanwhile, Balli and Sujata receive their own chamber.

Instead of peacefully celebrating their success, another competition begins: whose name should appear first on the chamber?

They agree that the lawyer who secures more relief in cases will receive the top position.

The friendly competition soon becomes much more serious.

Sujata even creates a fake identity named Binu and begins chatting with Balli. Balli becomes emotionally attached to Binu without realizing that he is actually talking to Sujata.

But Sujata eventually develops genuine feelings for him.

When Balli arranges a meeting with Binu, Sujata goes to the restaurant but cannot bring herself to reveal the truth.

She realizes that Balli may hate Binu for deceiving him, but she does not want him to hate Sujata.

Their storyline ends with feelings that are clearly more complicated than a simple courtroom rivalry.

The Fake Judge Twist

Another major storyline involves a mysterious man named Sajjan Patnaik.

Authorities are searching for him, and his location appears to be connected to the court itself.

The truth eventually becomes one of the season’s biggest surprises.

A man everyone has known as Judge Kailash turns out to actually be Sajjan Patnaik, while the real Kailash appears during the Lok Adalat proceedings.

Sajjan has apparently lived under another identity for years.

Tyagi confronts him on the rooftop.

Sajjan admits the truth but argues that even though his identity was false, the decisions he gave while acting as a judge were not necessarily unjust.

Police eventually arrive and arrest him.

The situation also forces Tyagi to think more deeply about what truly makes someone capable of delivering justice.

The Case That Changes Tyagi

The most important moment of Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 comes near the ending.

Tyagi is asked to rule on an extremely serious murder case involving a 24-year-old accused of murdering a 16-year-old boy.

Unlike the smaller and sometimes humorous cases he handled earlier in his legal career, this decision carries enormous consequences.

Tyagi struggles emotionally.

For guidance, he speaks with his father, who also has judicial experience.

His father explains that some cases fall into the “rarest of rare” category and that being a judge sometimes means making decisions that remain emotionally difficult even when they are legally justified.

Tyagi finally delivers the death sentence.

But the decision breaks something inside him.

After seeing the convicted man, Tyagi cannot stop thinking about the responsibility that came with his judgment.

He calls his father and admits how deeply the decision has affected him.

Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 Ending Explained

The final scene gives Season 2 its biggest twist.

Balli returns to the chamber after Binu fails to meet him. He is disappointed, but his mood improves when he notices that his name has been placed first on the chamber nameplate.

Everyone begins celebrating.

Then Tyagi arrives.

Instead of returning as Judge Tyagi, he asks whether there might be some space for his name on the chamber as well.

That moment reveals the truth:

Tyagi has resigned from his position as a judge and decided to return to practising law.

His experience on the bench has shown him that being a judge is not the life he wants.

Tyagi has spent years fighting cases, arguing for people and functioning as an advocate. Although becoming a judge looked like a major career achievement, the responsibility of deciding another person's fate affected him far more deeply than he expected.

The murder case finally makes him understand where he truly belongs.

Why Does Tyagi Quit Being a Judge?

Tyagi does not leave because he is incapable of understanding the law.

He leaves because he realizes the emotional burden of judicial power is something he does not want to carry.

As a lawyer, Tyagi can fight for a position.

As a judge, he must make the final decision.

The difference becomes painfully clear when he has to sentence a young man to death.

His resignation therefore completes his Season 2 character arc. Tyagi begins the season believing that becoming a judge represents progress, but ends it understanding that professional success means little if the role does not suit the person performing it.

Final Thoughts

Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 combines courtroom comedy with surprisingly thoughtful questions about justice, professional ambition, friendship and responsibility.

Ananya finally gets an important victory, Balli and Sujata’s relationship moves into unexpected territory, the fake judge mystery is exposed, and Tyagi goes through the biggest transformation of them all.

The ending also brings the story back to where Tyagi is most comfortable — practising law alongside the people who have been part of his journey.

And that makes Tyagi’s return to advocacy more than a simple career change.

It becomes the real conclusion of his journey in Maamla Legal Hai Season 2.
