Love is Blind: The Bros

We all love cringey 'reality' shows. Just admit it. It's OK. No judgement here. And I've got to say, after the first season of Love is Blind where Cam and Lauren developed the cutest relationship I've ever seen, I was hooked on this show. So when I heard that a 2nd season was coming out, I was STOKED. I got my snacks ready, grabbed a drink, and settled on the couch for some binging.

I was ready for some cutesy romantic love- with the occasional argument here and there to keep it spicy, but hot damn was I not prepared for what this season had to offer. There's so much more to get in to, but right now I want to focus on Shake and Shane. The two 'macho' men who love hot babes and hot bods, but don't really seem to have too much to offer.

Shake came right out the gate insisting that he only wanted a sexy chick, no bigger than a broom stick. That turned me off right away. Even if that's what you are attracted to- and there's no fault in being attracted to 'the perfect body'- there's a way to be a respectful human and not a slobbery dog about it. So when Shake was SO animalistic about his attraction to Deepti when they first saw each other, I thought oh wow, maybe something changed in his bro mind and he will love her body regardless of how it used to, or currently looks. Nope. Dude turned that switch off immediately, like it was never on. From that point on, he told everyone she reminded him of his Aunt, and winced from her touch. Deepti is drop dead gorgeous, and it seems he couldn't get past his own image of female perfection, and their relationship blossomed only into friendship. I really thought that maybe he had changed into a respectful human when she walked down the aisle. The look on his face as he watched her walk down didn't look like disgust. It looked like love. But as we all saw after she walked away, he spent a good amount of time making sure everyone around him knew that he wasn't into it either, and he was better off this way. I was feeling major second-hand embarrassment as he preached to the crowd surrounding him about how this is what he wanted and he didn't want her. I still don't know which version of Shake is the real one. The one who looked at Deeps in awe as she walked down the aisle towards him, or the fumbling machismo bro who followed.

Shayne's turn. What in the world is this guy? He likes Natalie, he likes Shaina, he likes Natalie, but upset Shaina didn't tell him she liked him first... In the pods, sweet little Natalie didn't deserve to be treated the way he treated her. Out of the pods Natalie is a whole different person (more on that later), but In the Pods Natalie was a dainty flower and Shayne didn't deserve her! When Shayne went in to crazy weird defensive mode when he started talking to Natalie like he'd talk to Shaina because he didn't realize it was her, I knew he was going to be a problem. No, scratch that...when I first heard that high pitch giggle laugh is when I knew he was goin to be a problem. Of course Natalie had every right to be upset when he was asking her what she was wearing. That proved to her that he was making connections with other girls while she was just sitting there pining for him. And when Shaina told him that she had feelings for him AFTER he had already asked Nat to be his girlfriend, his response was insulting to Natalie. Did Shayne and Shaina even talk about anything other than what they were both wearing??

I did feel bad for Shayne a LITTLE bit, though, when Out of the Pods Natalie kept saying rude things to him. Calling him a 'piece of shit' crossed the line a little too far to be considered a joke to him. Out of the pods Natalie and Shayne seem like a better couple than In The Pods Natalie and Shayne, but still a bomb just waiting to explode. Shayne just constantly flew off the handle at everything. And at the wedding- he had to be on something...did you see those jittery moves and buggy eyes? I don't know for sure, but something sure seemed fishy.
