Two strangers -Mortal enemies. A turf war - Apologies. Enemies to friends. A misunderstanding. A profession of love - Passionate lovers - The end. Sound familiar. Yes! Like every romcom that ever was. But what would make this one stand out from the crowd? I'll tell you. It's the ambience, the history, the lovely sights and sounds, the poetry, and the celebration of fine wine and Shakespeare. Love in the Villa is a delightful movie for lovers of rom-com, travel, history, fine wine, poetry, and literature. The scenic locations, wine, spats, crazy taxi drivers, and other quirks all add to the beauty of this movie. If you enjoyed watching A Perfect Pairing, you will definitely love this movie.

Conclusion and Key Takeaways

There will always be people who say romcom is cheesy, cliche and the tropes overused but, methinks that sometimes, one should just enjoy the movie experience, learn a thing or two and chill. The things I enjoyed most about this movie were the beautiful scenic locations and the whole magical atmosphere and history behind Juliet's house and the balcony. I also loved the winery, wine tasting, and wine festival scenes

Major takeaways from this movie include:

  • Sometimes, you can be organized and do everything right but things still go awry and out of control by no fault of yours.
  • Do your best and leave the rest. Don't be stressed by the journey but try to enjoy it
  • Every disappointment is a blessing and behind every dark cloud is a silver lining
  • Lower your expectations and remove your rose-tinted glasses. Life can be a bummer but you have to roll with it wherever possible
  • Fights, quarrels, and conflict can be exhausting. Mutual understanding, cooperation, and peace are always the best policy
  • You may find love in the most unlikely of places
  • Cats are attracted to olives! I didn't know that
  • Wine, winemaking, and wine tasting are an art. The entire process from growing grapes to the aging process and storing in barrels is mesmerizing

My Take: Love in The Villa is a relaxing not so serious enjoyable watch for the holiday or weekend or for Netflix and Chill nights
