Are you a GOT fan? Were you sad after the season’s finale? Do you like watching manga? Then I’ve got exciting news for you. Attack on Titans has been purported as the anime version of Games of Thrones.

Attack on Titan came with a bang to revolutionize and dominate the screens just as GOT did. The anime is an adaptation of a popular Japanese manga. It came just at the time the world needed a bit of fresh air to spice up the lackluster of other mangas.

Both Games of Thrones and Attack on titans are fantasy genre-busting epics. They are both set in a dystopian alternate history. Both kingdoms were facing the worst threats they have ever faced. A threat that threatens to end humanity itself. Unlike most movies with this same storyline, both movies managed to revitalize a genre fast, losing their appeal and subverted decades of audience expectations.

The plots are unbelievable and unpredictable to keep you hooked to your television set. The creator created a story, so complex yet perfectly weaved it back naturally. Fans have had to deal with the unexpected and shocking deaths of our favorite characters. The plot is so thick you will not know if your favorite character is getting axed next. Nothing ever goes exactly according to plans in the Titans campaign; whew, neither does it in real life. The manga is more realistic as your heroes make it home by the skin. The heroes either win by a landslide or slight margin or lose with great tragic losses. My advice, don’t get too attached to any character.

While GOT had to fight off white walkers, Titans must wade off multiple attacks from giant zombies who happen to be naked. This television series started in 2013 and is still going strong, with the final season set to be aired this year. The final season promises to be heel turning, featuring heroic characters. One striking similarity in both series is Daenerys Targaryen-like character. The hero in Attack of titans started noble and strong before spiraling into a threat to the world he helped protect.

Ratings

Attack on Titan has solid ratings on different websites. IMDb gave it a generous 8.5 out of 10. The movie got 94% on rotten tomatoes and 8.5 out of ten on https://animalist.net. The majority of viewers gave it a 5-star rating and will recommend it to their friends. Personally, I will give it a 9 out of 10 ratings.

My Take

Grab a pack of popcorn and go see the Attack on Titan. It is one of the greatest television shows ever created. The manga is incredible. Eren Yeager is one character you should watch out for; as you have probably guessed, he is my favorite. Let me know who your favorite character is after watching the television series.
