After a flood of new content arriving every day, I finally got the chance to watch Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri’s latest movie Lenin. The film was released two days ago, but now that I have watched it completely, let’s quickly discuss what this action drama has to offer and whether it is worth your time.

Lenin is an action-drama film with a touch of mythology and social themes. The movie has a runtime of around two and a half hours, and the story tries to mix emotions, revenge, justice, and mythological references in an interesting way.

The story takes us to a village called Sri Rampuram, where we meet Lenin, played by Akhil Akkineni. Lenin is an orphan who has nobody in this world. He grows up under the care of the village head and Jayamma, who become his support system.

But things change when the villagers get into a conflict with a powerful and dangerous villain. This creates a huge problem in the village, and Lenin decides to become their protector. He takes the responsibility of fighting for justice and helping the innocent people.

Whether Lenin succeeds in bringing justice or not, and what happens during the conflict involving caste issues and power struggles, is something you should experience in the movie because revealing more details would enter spoiler territory. The idea is to keep your movie-watching experience intact.

Talking about the positive side, Lenin does many things really well. The movie beautifully brings some elements inspired by stories like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, giving it a mythological flavour. These references add a unique identity to the film and make some moments feel larger than life.

In fact, the movie works better than the expectations many people had from it. The first half especially has some powerful scenes. One particular action sequence is extremely intense and shocking, where Lenin’s character shows his ruthless side. That scene can genuinely give you goosebumps.

Akhil Akkineni has given a strong performance. His action scenes, emotional moments, and screen presence work well for the character of Lenin. The character transformation from a simple village boy to a protector is shown effectively.

The love story is also one of the highlights of the film. Bhagyashri leaves a strong impression whenever she appears on screen. Her expressions and screen presence make her character memorable. She has performed confidently and adds charm to the emotional side of the story.

Interestingly, before Bhagyashri, actress Sreeleela was reportedly considered for the role, but due to some reason, she was no longer part of the project. However, after watching Bhagyashri’s performance, it feels like the casting decision worked well for the movie.

However, Lenin is not a perfect film. There are certain portions where the movie feels slow and stretched. Some scenes could have been shorter and more engaging. The VFX quality is also mixed. In some sequences, the visual effects look impressive, while in others they do not match the expectations.

There were reports that the movie was made on a budget of around ₹100 crore, and considering that budget, some VFX shots could have been better. But at the end of the day, the budget does not decide the complete quality of a film. The overall storytelling and emotional connection matter more.

The movie had a decent opening, collecting around ₹15-16 crore on its first day, while the two-day collection reached around ₹22-23 crore. If the same momentum continues, the film has a good chance of recovering its budget.

If you are planning to watch Lenin, you can enjoy it in theatres. Currently, the movie is available only in Telugu and the Hindi dubbed version has not arrived yet. It is also a film that can be watched with family, especially if you enjoy action dramas with mythology-based elements.

Overall, Lenin is not a flawless movie, but it has enough action, emotion, mythology, and performances to keep you interested. For me, the film deserves 3 out of 5 stars.

If you enjoy larger-than-life stories with a mix of justice, mythology, and action, Lenin can be a decent one-time watch.
