I'm a fan of Jenny Nicholson, I have been for some time now. My Jenny awakening came when she dropped her incredible fandom deep dive on Bronycon. I was vaguely familiar with Bronycon as I had once been assigned to write about Bronies, a documentary about the seemingly odd phenomenon of adult men who enjoyed watching the cartoon series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. The documentary was not very good. It contained few insights and came off as clearly pandering to the Bronies rather than providing any real insight about this unique fascination.
In 2021 Jenny Nicholson dropped The Last Bronycon: A Fandom Autopsy. The video went viral and when it was nominated for an award next videos by another YouTube favorite of mine, Lindsay Ellis, I became curious. Then, when Lindsay dropped Jenny's name a few times on Twitter and used her voice in a video, I was compelled to learn more. I watched her Bronycon video, and I was hooked. I immediately began binging Jenny's videos and I have been a fan ever since.

Her unique style is something I just find endlessly engaging. She appears innocent, seemingly naive, and then she drops banger after banger of insightful and funny lines in her videos and you realize the steely intelligence behind her sweet exterior. She has both a childlike enthusiasm for the things she loves and a searing wit for the things she doesn't like. She comes to her videos with receipts when she has a point to make about something she doesn't like, she can back it up when she has a criticism of something.
But she's also incredibly inviting, a little goofy, a little awkward, but when she decides to turn it on, her wit has a serious bite to it. My favorite Jenny video is her review of the awful movie, Escape from Tomorrow. She eviscerates that movie. Moreover, she eviscerates the director of the movie, Randy Moore. But she does it by using his own words against him. She shows videos of him making some very stupid, thoughtless things, and calls him out. She then digs into themes and offers an insightful examination of the various failed and lacking themes in the movie.

This is a way of saying that I have followed Jenny for a long time and this list is merely me satisfying my own curiosity about Jenny Nicholson's work in the wake of the viral success of her video The Spectacular Failure of the Star Wars Hotel. A lot of people are discovering Jenny for the first time because of this four hour Star Wars Hotel video. But, at 5.4 million views as of 5.4 million views, as of this writing, May 27th, 2024, this is only Jenny's 5th biggest video of her YouTube career. Despite it making her the most talked about YouTuber of the moment, there are videos she's made that are way bigger than this one. Take a look: Here's Jenny's million plus videos by views.
