This Is Good!

This past June, DC FanDome officially announced that the online event would include a panel for The Suicide Squad, which is helmed by Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn. Then, earlier this August, we got a tease from Gunn himself again that the fans are going to be seeing a glimpse from his highly-anticipated sequel to 2016's Suicide Squad. The previous film was helmed by David Ayer, whose screen credits include End of Watch, Bright, Fury, and, more recently, The Tax Collector starring Shia LaBeouf, which is still playing at drive-in theaters and on video on demand. While the first film did not get the best reception, this next one is expected to breathe new life into the IP as far as the big screen is concerned. The official logo for The Suicide Squad was also showcased in multiple languages.

Now that we have the official schedule for DC FanDome, James Gunn has posted a a preview to DC’s The Suicide Squad panel with a glimpse on how the DC’s The Suicide Squad will look. In the Twitter post, James Gunn included a quick short video to give the fans the taste of what The Suicide Squad will be like at DC FanDome.

“In just one week, join me and the cast of The Suicide Squad at DC FanDome for a sneak preview of our film and to see who’s who! Hope to see you there! Add us now to your schedule at DCFanDome.com.”

This panel is actually pre-recorded, which would explain why Gunn’s post shows excerpts from the upcoming panel for DC FanDome. In his Twitter video, we see glimpses of Zoom clips from Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Michael Rooker, Viola Davis, and Sean Gunn, just to name a few. It seems from that the majority of the cast of DC’s The Suicide Squad are present. Hopeful fans are aware at this point that this panel is a pre-recorded show. Nonetheless, this should be interesting and very exciting at the same time for DC FanDome, the actors, the director, and the fans. Actually, this will be very exciting to experience a convention. It is a relatively new way of interacting without having the actors and director come out and be onstage with their microphone, reacting, answering questions, and dealing with a large excited crowd of fans.

From the pre-recorded footage that was shown on James Gunn’s Twitter video post, it seems like the panel will be presented with a replication of a stage with one huge frame in the center and other screens surrounding it. It is like Zoom or the opening credits from The Brady Bunch TV series, but a fancier way displaying it. There will be, no doubt, pre-determined cuts to whoever is talking, with videos and pictures, as shown on Gunn’s Twitter video.

The DC FanDome panel for The Suicide Squad is scheduled for August 22 at 11:55 PST. Make sure to clear your schedule and catch it at the DC FanDome online. And if you have even more free time that day, you can catch panels for other DC films, including Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, and Zac Snyder's Justice League. As such, fans will get glimpses of what to expect from the near future of DC filmmaking.

DC’s The Suicide Squad is starring Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Alice Braga, Jai Courtney, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, Michael Rooker, John Cena, Storm Reid, Joaquin Cosio, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Peter Capaldi, Daniela Melchior, Sean Gunn, David Dastmalchian, with Julio Ruiz and Taika Waititi.
