This month's box included 4 magical items.

Loot Crate is a subscription box service that provides exclusive, quality items for fandoms — this is my review for the January 2018 Wizarding World crate. I am not sponsored by Loot Crate, all opinions are my own.

Shipping: This is January’s box, which I received towards the end of February. Loot Crate had sent out an email saying that the shipping for this box was delayed and included a store credit for the Loot Vault — a collective shop with previous LC items for discounted purchase. I don’t believe that this sort of delay is a regular habit of Loot Crate, as their customer satisfaction rates are relatively high. I was slightly concerned at first, wondering if it was a fault on my end. But once I received the informative email about the shipping delay I was relieved and didn’t mind waiting. Even with the delay, I found the communication satisfactory and the tracking number sent by Loot Crate was active, allowing me to know when to be home for the delivery.

Overview: Four Magical Items, Ravenclaw House

I chose my house, Ravenclaw! All house choices are available when ordering your crate.

I was very pleased with the content and quality of this month's crate: The Ties That Bind Us. The wait was totally worth it. As a Ravenclaw, I was extremely happy with the house representation — look at the Lost Diadem pin! I also LOVED that the actual box transformed into the Weasley's family clock, the artifact that embodies family ties and what binds them.

Item #1: The Black Family Tapestry Shawl/Scarf

Sirius's face is burned out — that small attention to detail is impressive!

First thing's first, the wearable! As soon as I saw this I immediately fell in love, my very own Black family tapestry! This flowing shawl is beautiful, the quality is fantastic, and has a dual purpose. I personally used this shawl as an actual tapestry, and have it hanging on my office wall — whenever I work I feel like I'm in 12 Grimmauld Place. MAGIC.

Item #2: Hogwarts Uniform House Tie

The Ravenclaw House tie is essential for the brainy Hogwarts student.

Next item, another wearable. I had a laugh when I saw the tie, as it perfectly suits this month's theme, "The Ties That Bind Us." This item is a bit simplistic, but it is certainly essential to any Potterhead. I find the quality is synonymous with the other items and since the design is simple it can be worn regularly, adding a little magic to your business attire. Though I won't be wearing this tie, my Ravenclaw father was all smiles when I gave it to him.

Item #3: The Wand Collection Book

It is a fun coffee table book, every page is full of magical photography.

The next item is this Loot Crate exclusive mini version of "The Wand Collection." I was particularly excited for this item because I have seen the original version of the book and wanted it, but the mini version is even better! Every glossy page of this book is a photograph of a unique wand, it's owner, and a description of it's make/model. Many characters are represented, from Hagrid's makeshift umbrella wand to the notorious Elder Wand. I think this book makes a great coffee table piece; it's beautifully made, space conscious, and great to flip through either during commercial breaks or while you’re waiting for your potions to brew.

Item #4: Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw Pin

It is a beautiful replica pin for any collection, outfit, or display.

Last item, the pin. Loot Crate has been following a series for the pins- Horcruxes. This double-backed pin is gorgeous! The hanging gemstones add to the detail and quality, and the quote etched into the bottom "Wit Beyond Measure Is Man's Greatest Treasure" made my soul happy. Mind you that all Loot Crate pins are very lovely and high quality, but I must say that the company really outdid themselves with this wearable replica.

And that concludes the J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World Loot Crate for January 2018! Overall I really enjoyed the surprises this month's crate included, and I thank you for reading my review!

Until the unboxing of March’s magic, Alexandria ☽
