Is Molly Burnette returning as Maxie on General Hospital?
The soap vet is rumored to be replacing Kirsten Storms in the role of the beloved character.

Is Kirsten Storms being replaced?
Rumors abound on social media about a change in actresses on one daytime drama. According to Facebook, Reddit, and YouTube soap vet Molly Burnett will replace Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones on General Hospital. This news has not been reported by GH representatives or spoilers. Is this legit or did someone start a false rumor?
Every day there is fake news and soap viewers must decide what is accurate and what is not. Those who enjoy General Hospital are hoping Storms will get the help she needs and return to the soap but understand that the show must go on. Fans were stunned last week when TMZ broke the news that Brandon Barash received a restraining order against his ex-wife and mother of his daughter Harper Rose Barash claiming Storms was having mental health issues. .
Barash claims Storms is hearing voices, hallucinating and told him she did not believe she could handle her parenting time with Harper Rose. He said his current wife had assisted Kirsten who went to a medical facility near the end of last year.
There is no news at this time on if or when the beloved actress will step back into the role. If Burnette is replacing Storms fans wonder if it will be temporary or permanent.
Storms has been through a lot and GH execs have allowed her to come and go as needed. She dealt with a brain aneurism, a cyst on the brain, COVID, severe stress that caused her skin to break out, a broken finger and now an alleged mental health crisis.
Is Molly Burnette headed back to General Hospital?
If Burnette looks familiar, it’s because this would not be her first time in Port Charles. She ystepped in for Storms as Maxie in 2016 and again in 2018. Jen Lily and Nicole Paggi also portrayed the character in later years.
Burnette also played Melanie Jonas on Days of Our Lives (2008–2012, 2014–2016), and Kelly Ann on Queen of the South (2017–2021), She also had the role of Grace Muncy on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2022–2023).
In 2010 and 2012 the actress was nominated twice for the Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for work on DOOL. She was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series in 2018 for Relationship Status.

Maxie is needed in Port Charles
Maxie is part of several front burner storylines on GH and needed onscreen. The man she believes is her dead husband returned to life Nathan West (Ryan Peavey) is his evil twin Cassius Faison.
James West (Gary James Fuller) believes this man is his father and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) thought her son's twin died at birth. As the truth unfolds Maxie needs to be there for her son and her friend Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) who is in love with the fake Nathan.
Maxie should be having some contact with Cassius and realizing that something is off about him. Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) initially suspected Nathan was a fraud but he has not been on screen lately and unable to pursue this situation.
In addition to Kirsten Storms, being off-screen Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and John J York (Mac Scorpio) have both been MIA for a while without explanation.
General Hospital fans desire to see all three characters back in action in Port Charles and for certain storylines to wrap up. Be on the lookout for updates on York, Hughes, Storms and Burnette and spoilers to reveal what’s coming next. Continue watching the drama unfold weekdays on ABC.
