If Dragonball Ever Ends, Should the Series End with Gohan's Death?

After watching the latest Dragonball Super film with Gohan and Piccolo fighting together, and getting stronger, this movie has left me with a brand-new theory on how this show will possibly end. 

If Dragonball will one day end, I think there is a crazy way this show could end. 

I feel that Gohan is secretly the main character. Even though Goku, his father is the main character, Gohan has always been hinted to be stronger than his own father. 

Also, Gohan has never actually died in the entirety of the show. 

Minus the old Dragonball Z film where Gohan dies to save Trunks. 

The reason why I think this show should end with Gohan's death, is because if Gohan is stronger, and if the crew ever faces a very powerful threat…it would be the perfect way to end the whole show.

We all know that Gohan deeply loves his family, and yes, Goku does too, but I think we can all agree that Goku can be pretty dumb and selfish in his own way when it comes to villains the crew faces throughout the series. But when it comes to Gohan, he actually does take every threat seriously, and he does whatever it takes to win, even if he will get injured or almost killed. 

In other words, Gohan is a true hero. 

He always places his family and friends above his own life, because he truly cares for them, and would most likely die for them if that's what it would take. 

Hell, his bond with Piccolo is starting to get even more stronger in the show.

During the last Dragonball film, I was so happy the writers finally gave Piccolo and Gohan their own standalone movie. Their bond has always been a huge highlight for me during the series, and it was so cool to see Piccolo being there for Gohan's daughter, while also taking on more dangerous androids. Gohan eventually does join this fight, and we really see how powerful he really is during the show.

He literally achieved going past a super Saiyan again, and then he went head-to-head with the new Cell, an old antagonist from the main Dragonball Z series. 

Gohan keeps on proving his potential among the Super Saiyans, and it's really starting to make me wonder how the show will end. At some point, I think Dragonball will eventually end, and yes, this is going to hurt for so many fans, but at least it will possibly end with a bang.

My theory for the ending is going to have Gohan take on the worst villain of all time, a foe that is even stronger than many villains the characters have faced throughout the entire show. I am going to predict that somehow the Dragonballs will end up not being available for the first time, and whoever dies will permanently stay dead. 

Maybe this villain will interfere with the Dragonball abilities, leaving the characters feeling completely hopeless for the first time. 

Gohan will have to step in, but it result in his death. 

If Dragonball ever goes down this route, it's going to hurt so bad.

I would dread seeing Piccolo's reaction to his death, because of how close they are. 

Goku is Gohan's biological father, but come on, we all know that Piccolo is secretly his real dad. He has been there for him since he was a child, and Piccolo helped him to get to his real potential. Hell, he even stood up for Gohan during the Cell Games as Gohan was battling Cell for the first time. 

His love for Gohan is so strong, and if Dragonball does end with Gohan's death, then damn, I'm going to bawl my eyes out when Piccolo witnesses his death.
