Ideas on Moff Gideon’s background

Moff Gideon is a striking character. Many of us ask: How did he came to be? How did he achieve access to the darksaber ? Is Giancarlo Esposito (his actor) alluding that he is in fact force sensitive?

Here’s what I believe, take most of what I say as a tale. Moff Gideon started off as a member of House Vizsla and as the Clone Wars dragged on, Death Watch came under the control of Darth Maul. Gideon was chosen a spy of Darth Sideous, a clear rival of Maul and someone who would want to keep an eye and ear on all of his enemies. He was captured by Sideous after Sideous defeated Maul on Mandalore, and instructed to be his eyes and ears as well as informing Gideon that he was in fact, force sensitive and he may one day be strong enough to face Maul.

Gideon would fall victim to the republic siege of Mandalore, but survived and fully recovered with a stronger vengeance towards Ahsoka Tano and Bo Katan, who he claimed invaded Mandalore. He remained imprisoned by Bo Katan who acted as regent until the Empire forced their will on Mandalore.

When Gideon’s superior, Gar Saxon was released from imprisonment by the Empire and elected as Imperial Viceroy, Governor of Mandalore, and the Emperors Hand, Palpatine remained in contact with Gideon via hologram as he had since Mandalore’s previous shadow leader, Maul. Sideous made sure that Gideon kept a close eye on Gar Saxon and make sure his interests aligned with the Emperors interests, as an undercover ISB agent within Gar Saxon’s Imperial Supercommandos.

Gideon had hoped for his daughter (who I blindly hope is the Mandalorian friend of Sabine, Ketsu Onyo) to become a Supercommando just as he had. She however, escaped the Imperial Academy on Mandalore with traitor Sabine Wren. The Emperor tasked Gideon to harness the Duchess, a weapon created by Sabine that can target Mandalorian iron known as Beskar. The Duchess would be used for future use if the Mandalorian insurgents become too powerful of a threat and would target their armor instead of the Imperial plastoid armor.

Together Gar Saxon and his Supercommandos followed every one of the Emperors orders and kept Mandalorian Space under Imperial control through sheer force. Gideon was Saxons most elite warrior besides Saxon’s own brother. They kept Bo Katan in hiding, they kept traitors out of the Mandalorian Imperial Academies, and they even demolished the Mandalorian Protecors of Concord Dawn after deeming them traitors.

It wasn’t until after the death of Gar Saxon and his brother Tiber Saxon that there was a power vacuum on Mandalore that the resurfaced regent, Lady Bo Katan was prepared to take upon unifying the clans under the darksaber. The Emperor personally elected Gideon as Mandalores new governor and viceroy, replacing the Saxon’s and to swiftly handle the Mandalorian insurgents.

Sideous immediately ordered Gideon to lead reinforcements of an Imperial fleet to sweep out these Mandalorian rebels. This fight carried on for some time. Gideon therefore lead the Supercommandos and threatened Bo Katan’s still alive nephew, Korkie Kryze, who was surprisingly alive in a far away imperial prison. Bo Katan sent troops lead by Sabine to rescue her nephew while she personally faces Gideon.

Lady Bo Katan and Gideon faced off at the statue of Tarre Vizsla, the original leader and creator of the darksaber Bo Katan weilded. Gideon and Bo Katan faced off in a ceremonious and traditional Mandalorian Face off, that unbeknownst to their troops that watched, Gideon actually was force sensitive, and used the force to take the dark saber and defeat Bo Katan.

Meanwhile, the troops of Sabine had come to a dead end and a trap, and Bo Katan had gotten captured. The Darksaber was now under possession of Moff Gideon.

Taking orders directly from the Emperor, in an operation mirroring Operation Cinder, Operation purge commenced above Mandalore and all worlds allying with Bo Katan’s cause, and decimated those that opposed them wearing Beskar.

This was accomplished by outfitting the Imperial technology with the same targetors found in the now destroyed Duchess. This targeted Mandalorian Beskar, found in any of those that opposed the Imperials law of no beskar and very likely supported Bo Katan’s cause. The plastoid wearing Supercommandos and Stormtroopers on these planets were unaffected by this sudden lightning storm as their plastoid armor was unaffected by this strike.

As Mandalore suffered below, Moff Gideon watched in his ship above with his captive Bo Katan. The Emperor congratulated Gideon and Immediately promoted Gideon as Moff. He ordered Gideon to relocate his prisoner to a facility on Kamino where Korkie Kryze resided.

On Kamino, Moff Gideon had himself cloned to lure any false capture, as well as cloning Bo Katan in the hopes of luring the remaining Mandalorians out of hiding and execute them.

Gideon had a hand in Palpatine’s cloning operations, including those on Exogol and still reported to both the First Order and the Sith Eternal on Exegol.

Moff Gideon initiated his clone decoy of himself to get captured by the New Republic and executed that way he was perceived as dead. Meanwhile he honed his skills with the darksaber and reported to his Master, Darth Sideous. Gideon even possessed the Sith Holocron of Darth Maul, who he had been tasked to watch after during the Clone Wars.

Sideous would task Gideon of capturing force sensitives, cloning them, and extracting all of their Midi-Chlorians for his sinister use on Exegol (This is why Gideon is intensely after the Child because he has a high midi-chlorian count). Unfortunately, a Mandalorian survivor got involved with the Child Hunt and is going to soon challenge Gideon in grand ways.

I feel as though Gideon may face off with Din Djarin and his allies in front of the statue of the creator of the Darksaber, Tarre Vizsla on the ruins of Mandalore.
