I'm so Tired of Television Making Their Characters 'Weak'

Why do writers suddenly make their most powerful characters in television so weak in the final seasons?

This has been a huge 'plot device' from writers for the final seasons of their popular television shows. I have seen so many television shows where they suddenly make either their villains, or even several of their characters super weak for the final season, so that writers can give their fans a proper happy ending.

But in reality, this pisses off the fans.

Every. Single. Time.

I personally have noticed this stupid change within powerful characters for these particular television shows, and yes, I'm going over ones that I have already talked about recently, but man, it's gotten so obvious in a bad way over the years of television.

- The Boys

- Game of Thrones

- Stranger Things

I haven't seen the ending to The Boys yet, but the constant complain I keep hearing about this season, is the lack of power among the superheroes in the final season. I recently heard that two superheroes, known as Soldier Boy and Black Noir got taken out by a chokehold. You're telling me that some of the most powerful superheroes in the show are getting taken out so easily???

I won't even be surprised if I hear that Homelander suddenly gets killed in the final episode for the stupiest reason possible. Dude is now ultra powerful, and if he gets 'nerfed' in the final episode, I won't even be shocked. If the writers are already nerfing their other superheroes, then we could be getting a disappointing ending.

Game of Thrones got some of the most obvious nerfs in history among television for the final season.

The Night King showed up with his zombie army, ready to finally begin his takeover of the entire seven kingdoms. Dude got killed by a knife, wiping out his whole army. I was alright with this realization, because this specific knife had been mentioned throughout the series before the final battle with the Night King.

But the reason why the writers screwed this season up, is because this fight should have been drawn out much longer. This battle should have lasted throughout the final season, at least to the finale, or even before the final episode. This fight only lasted for one episode...the Night King was being hinted to be one of the most powerful enemies in Game of Thrones, and you're telling me it took only one episode to get him? A dude that had been hyped since season one???

Come on, he literally was so damn deadly in season 5 when the main cast first met this monster. How did this guy get nerfed in the final season, who had a freaking ZOMBIE DRAGON???

I was definitely one of those few fans that was so disappointed by the Night King's ending.

Stranger Things was another one that made it extremely obvious when it came to the main villain.

Vecna, a powerful entity who had been leading the Upside Down for who knows how long...who even summoned a huge monster to take down Eleven and her friends...got taken out like whatever in the final episode by the main heroes.

How could Vecna...along with a huge monster that he had summoned during the fight...get taken out so easily? Vecna was a massive threat back in season 4, and he was deadly, and he got so many people killed during this season. And to top it off, the heroes STRUGGLED to fight him.

Yet for some reason, they didn't struggle as much anymore for the final fight.

I get why fans do get upset over these changes for the final seasons, because it's not because we fans are picky...it just doesn't make any sense.

We fans became so familar with our favorite characters and villains, so we know what to expect of these characters when they interact or fight.

I'm so tired of seeing the same old thing over and over.

You would think that when these creative writers are given such a big budget, they would take advantage and go all out for the final seasons.

But instead, we are met with disappointment.
