I have come to resent Daria

I loved Daria which is a Spin off of Daria from Beavis and Butthead until she stole her best friend Jane Lane’s boyfriend and that left a bad taste in my mouth. Whoever writer thought of this idea is wrong I mean Daria represented the outcast and a brain but somehow she became like her sister Quinn who was stealing boyfriends on a daily basis. I don’t like how Daria betrayed Jane by taking her man Tom but what makes it even worse is that Tom willingly went along with her. No wonder why Beavis and Butthead were coming down hard on her, did they know something that we didn’t? Daria turned out to be a bitch and she stole her best friend Jane’s Boyfriend Tom. They even had a cha cha number for her “Diarrhea Cha Cha Cha”.

Initially , I liked Daria she and her best friend Jane were outcasts and they had a refreshing view of the world and their fellow student body. Daria was indeed an original who took on the ridiculousness of highschool and teenage life and to dealing with family and parents. Some of my favorite episodes of the show to begin with is her English teacher Mr. O’Neill sends her essay to a teenage magazine named “Val” and the editor of said magazine loved the essay and decided to spend a day with her when at the end Daria confronts her about being a propagandarist who makes money off of teenage culture. Daria also had a huge crush on Jane’s brother musician Trent Lane who had his own band “Mystic Spiral”. In truth my favorite characters in the show are Trent and Jane. The Daria theme song is one of my favorite theme song it’s a alternative rock song perfect for the show.

Daria and Jane had a favorite television show that they liked to watch called “Sick Sad World.” As the name of the show implies it is about the sickness and sadness of the world in a funny fashion. God I wish that that was an actual show. Throughout this article I will continue to mention my favorite episodes there is a episode where her economics class a field trip to a large mall to learn about economics. Daria initially aired of MTV. I liked the way that this cartoon was animated it is a unique way of animation. There was another episode where Daria and Quinn go to a plastic surgeon because she wanted to have plastic surgery but Daria doesn’t walk away empty handed Dr. Shar gives her a set of fake boobs. Her parents Jake and Helen were hippies who sold out. I love her father he happens to be one of my favorite characters on the show.

Helen is a corporate lawyer and Jake is a stressed out advertising executive, go figure. Another episode that I thought of was the one where Jake and Helen’s hippie friends come to town that they knew apparently Jake and Helen had lived in a hippie commune. At the end of every episode the characters get drawing of some of each characters alter ego. Whosoever in the writer room decided to have Daria steal Jane’s boyfriend I always thought it to be a bad idea however that is just me.

Daria was and is a good show but they didn’t have to make her steal Jane’s Boyfriend but Tom did’nt help he actually came on to Daria. Quinn was a popular person and she and her friends called the fashion club and some how Daria became like Quinn in the sense that she stoled her friends boyfriend and was into Trent too.
