House of the Dragon S2, E1

SPOILERS

By Alexandrea CallaghanPublished 10 days ago 3 min read

House of the Dragon is finally back for its second season and the dance has begun. At the end of the first season Rhaenyra had been usurped by Alicent and her little rapist son Aegon. Lucerys and his dragon died at the hands of Vagar and Aemond. Rhaenyra birthed her own stillborn child and everyone is getting ready for war. House of the Dragon season 2 promises more dragons, and more violence. I am going to state this now, if you are in any way, shape, or form team green you are going to want to stay far away from me. There is no justification for that and if you’re team green I am going to assume that you are stupid and therefore your opinions and thoughts mean nothing.

Titled “A Son for a Son” House of the dragon jumps right back into the story. Pretty much right where we left off. Everyone is finding out about Lucerys’ death and figuring out how to retaliate. My Rhaenyra looks about ready to burn the whole of King’s Landing right now.

Corlys is looking a little worse for wear as his men work maintenance on his ships. Not sure how much help he is going to be when the fighting starts.

Aemond all of a sudden is upright and vaguely resembling a human being. As this season goes on, let's not forget that he’s a rapist. He conducts himself in court like the dumbass child that he is.

Alicent is now fucking crispy Cole, can’t wait for him to die. The fact that she only has him in any way because Rhaenyra rejected him is a little hilarious and a lot pathetic for her.

Emma is doing such an incredible job of portraying the grief of losing a child. She has isolated herself. She is angry. But mostly she looks like she just feels lost and empty without her baby.

And then we have this idiot on the actual iron throne taking petitions from the public and he doesn’t think before he speaks. He simply churns through these people without actually listening or pondering a response. He does however do a decent job of shutting down Otto, who I want to hear talking about as little as humanly possible.

The fact that Alicent STILL thinks that her Aegon is who Viserys was talking about just proves how unbearably stupid she is. Ma’am Viserys all but ignored your first born his entire life, he continuously backed up Rhaenyra, he called you by Aemma’s name repeatedly and you think he was talking about your little rapist cunt on his deathbed? Brain dead. Alicent is truly the most idiotic dipshit in all the seven kingdoms.

My sweet, perfect Rhaenyra ordered a hit on Aemond, which of course made Daemon happy. Rhaenyra and her eldest crying together definitely made me cry. The Blacks are going through it right now and the Greens are sitting way too comfortable, I need them to burn. Alicent’s little candle lighting bullshit can fuck right off. You don’t even get to say that baby's name, you literally tried to have him murdered every time you opened your stupid mouth about his parentage.

Daemon sets out to fulfill his queen's order. Though the mark is Aemond they clearly have a backup plan. The only person on team Green I have an ounce of sympathy for is Heleana. The poor girl has just been abused her whole life, popped out heirs for her brother and now she just walked in on her mother having sex after watching her son get beheaded.

I feel like we all knew blood and cheese was going to happen but they really added an extra layer of trauma there. As far as the timeline goes I don’t really know how far into the dance we are going to get as this episode ends with blood and cheese and the rest of the episode was a lot of building to get there. I can’t wait to see Aegon’s reaction to his son’s death. I hate the hurting of children but I love the pain it causes shitty parents. There is going to be a lot of death and destruction this season, I think starting with something as violent as the beheading of a 4 year old really sets that up.
