There has been much murmuring about the potential for a reboot of the Charmed series that ran from from 1998–2006 on the WB network. The series, about a trio of sister witches living in San Francisco, has steadily gained popularity thanks to Netflix and a new influx of viewers. Even though I've seen every episode at least three times, Charmed still tops my list of go-to shows whenever I just don't know what I want to watch so the thought of a reboot is both exciting and terrifying. I say terrifying because there is some talk about remaking the show without the original cast. And with all the old shows getting reboots: 24, The X-Files, Heroes (titled Heroes Reborn), Gilmore Girls, and Prison Break (to name a few), I know fans won't settle for anything less than the original Halliwells. Fortunately, it seems like the actresses are amenable to the idea.

Alyssa Milano

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alyssa Milano, who played Phoebe Halliwell, expressed her interested in returning to the show:

"It seems like that's going to happen any second. I just feel like with all these reunions, and we still have such a cult following, that I feel like someone's going to put that together at some point, and we're all totally on board for that!"

She clarified her statements later on the Twitter by saying:

Nothing has been confirmed...With all the reunion shows it seems like #charmed would be a great choice since we have the most loyal and best fans ever. But I would imagine until CBS makes a decision on their reboot a true reunion type of show will not be happening due to CBS owning the rights.

Shannen Doherty

In 2013, Alyssa Milano reached out to her Charmed sisters, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan, and Shannen Doherty to ask if they would be on board for a Charmed TV movie. Shannen's response delighted fans:

Yep, I would. Enough was left undone to address and make a good movie.

Holly Marie Combs

And Holly Marie Combs, when speaking to US Weekly, confirmed that the girls were on board.

"People keep talking about it. CBS has the rights to it."

Rose McGowan

In 2015, Rose McGowan confirmed her interest to E!

“Witchcraft is kind of awesome and I had the best powers, so I hope so.”

The downside to the lady witches' thumbs-up is CBS could insist on rebooting the series with a new cast of characters. Thousands of fans are hoping this is not the case as the only Charmed reboot we want to support is the one with the original Halliwell sisters. To keep up with the fans determined to bring this reboot to life, follow Charmed Reunion on Facebook. With over 27,000 members, they are actively promoting a renewal of our beloved show!
