The MCU has some exciting news, Halle Berry would like to be cast as Storm in a future X-Men film. If you remember, Halley Berry has been cast as Storm in other X-Men films. Storm is able to control weather and wield it to her will, making her one of the most powerful heroes on the globe. The last movie Halle Berry was cast in as Storm was X-Men: Days of Future Past, in 2014. So, its been awhile since Halle Berry has played Storm. The actress has expressed much interest in returning in the role of Storm in a future MCU X-Men film.

As with any fanbase, fans of the MCU have high expectations and an impact in this story. The impact of the fanbase expectations is not always a benefit to the MCU or other IPs. However, X2: X-Men United was generally well received and is a favorite movie for some in the Marvel fanbase. Other favorites include X-Men: First Class and Logan. These movies were non-MCU Marvel films, but Disney now has control over X-Men and the MCU, leaving a combining of the two inevitable. Although 2019's Dark Phoenix was not perceived as very successful, the release of a new film bringing the group back together with Halle Berry as Storm shows potential, especially in the MCU. We will have to wait and see.

Vanity Fair was able to interview the actress, Halle Berry, who told them she would be willing to return as Storm, saying she enjoyed the films and her character;

I would absolutely return to it, it's a beloved character, I loved playing Storm, and people love Storm. So, I would absolutely, you know, if we could find a version that would make sense, or a storyline that would make sense, I would absolutely do that, for sure.

Just a short time ago, Marvel studios made an announcement of a sequel show to the popular animated X-Men series that ended in 1997. While it is unlikely that Halle Berry returns as Storm for a voice over role, this could be a precursor for things to come. Berry and Kevin Feige should be familiar with each other since they were both involved in the original X-Men trilogy from Fox Studios. Speculation is that the fanbase would agreeably welcome Halle Berry back to see her control weather again to fend off villains.

Disney and Disney+ have a lot of new projects in the works. The new shows consist of Moon Knight, X-Men '97, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Marvel Zombies, Echo, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, I Am Groot, Season 2 of What if…?, Iron Heart, Agatha: House of Harkness, and Ms. Marvel. Hopefully, this is just a glimpse of what the theatrical films will be like. We are set to find out a little bit because of the December 17 release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. This might set the stage for Halle Berry’s return as Storm since Spider-Man: No Way Home is already returning some former actors in familiar roles.

The downside to this news is that Marvel Studios has already delayed scheduled films in the works. Disney announced that the entire list of films to be released in 2022 are being postponed by at least one release slot. The Marvel Studios films aren’t the only films being delayed. Disney just announced that they will also delay the 5th Indiana Jones film until June 30, 2023. This film was supposed to be released July 29, 2022. It’s going to be interesting to see where all these new film releases end up. The Disney and Marvel fanbase have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of years. It’s possible it could take us into 2024 and 2025 to see all the announced projects come to light. The fanbase should be very excited at the upcoming film and Disney+ release agenda.
