The third instalment in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga and the second film of phase 5 of the MCU. Unlike recent marvel projects this one was more emotional than before and also unlike previous installments such as ant man and the wasp quantumania and Thor love and thunder this instalment the humour actually works and generally made me laugh at certain points. I’ve never been a big fan of the guardians of the galaxy p, even the first film I know controversial but this film was just way ahead of its predecessors, still a couple of flaws that I will get into but overall this was a satisfying end to this trilogy.
Starting off this film shows more emotion that the two previous guardians of the galaxy and possibly this might go down as the most emotional MCU film. It shows the early life of Rocket and his dark upbringings where he was created by the high evolutionary who later on in the film grows more insane and wants to create a different for all living animals and be exactly like Rocket to take over the world.
After being attacked by Adam Warlock, Rocket suffers near death injuries and is put on life support, Quill and his gang embark on a mission to receive a code in an attempt to save Rockets life. Along the way the gang meet past Gamora who still doesn’t remember the event from the first two films as she is the Gamora from the time travel stunt from Avengers Endgame, reluctantly goes with them to receive the code.
Along the way Quill is trying to win Gamora back by trying to bring back the past but Gamora doesn’t fall for his tricks and rejects him every time, in one particular scene they have space suits on and Quill believes she is talking to Gamora alone but in fact picked the wrong settings in their space suits and the rest of the gang can hear what they’re saying which Drax saying it was painful to listen to. Also we see Drax and Mantis grow more close and start to show more of a romantic relationship.
After a lot of stubbornness towards Peter Quill who is trying to love her again Gamora eventually sees the importance in saving Rockets life and the gang successfully receive the code and Rocket is resuscitated. However the evolutionary is still at large and still wants Rocket but the guardians defeat him and also save all of the other that the evolutionary had captured.

After nearly getting caught by the explosions of the action, Peter Quill jumps into space and nearly freezes to death but Adam Warlock after seeing the great in good attempts to save him and successfully does. After reuniting the guardians reveal to each other that it is time to move on with life and that Quill should finally meet his grandpa, Drax should become a dad and finally that Rocket should be the new leader of the guardians which has a new group consisting of Adam Warlock and other members.
To summarise this movie was a really funny and emotional movie and I probably think it is the best Marvel film since Endgame and possibly after a rewatch this could surpass Endgame and may even be higher on my MCU ranking, currently if I was to do a ranking it would probably be in the top 8 but it could up overtime and I can’t wait to see if these characters are in future MCU installments such as the two upcoming Avengers films but if this is the last we see these characters then this is the near perfect way to send them off.
