Good and Bad about working in a Film Production?

Working in film production is an enjoyable and fun job. This job is not like convention 9-5 – there’s no time of arriving and returning home. The best part about film production is telling stories through the camera and capturing masterwork one-after another. It’s a dream come true for many aspiring students to get a job in a film production firm. However, all the shine is not good, and it also has a different perspective to see through.

Entertainment Oxygen enables you to get in touch with producers, directors, and actors to showcase your talent. If the filmmaker finds you fit for the job, they will contact you for the job. But today, our topic of discussion is the pros and cons of working in film production. We will share the two sides of a coin, and readers will be the best judge. Let’s begin:

The Enjoyment…

• Creativity Enhancement

One of the most creative jobs in filmmaking, in my opinion. It gives you independence on the creative horizon. You can express yourself in any manner, and you showcase your talent. With the gradual enhancement of talent, one day, you may become a director, actor, or filmmaker.

• Combination of Different form of Art

It’s the best part about associating with a movie because it contains a different form of creativity before you air a final project on-screen. There are sound designers, scriptwriters, makeup artists, costume designers, directors, and much more.

It’s great if you think about such things. The original thoughts coming out from the plenty of artists make a fabulous thing. Sometimes it works so phenomenally, and people remember it forever in their life. Secondly, you may do the way you want to brings empowerment feeling.

• Social Environment

Mainly people have ambitions, mindsets, and dreams before entering the film industry. So, if you have a passion for filmmaking, you can connect easily with your seniors who supposed to share a similar dream of your age. You can also explain to them artistically. Apart from it, you will be excited to meet so many creative people.

• Interesting Work

If you take my view, the amazing aspect of filmmaking is the film crew find the best surrounding and create a remarkable experience. With creative people, it will enable you to visualize stories and attain the goal. Usually, jobs have a dogmatic routine to follow – but in the case of an entertainment industry job, there is a diversified experience each day. The lifestyle is on the toes for the sake of the project. If you are working with complete dedication, you’ll love to work and cherish memories forever.

• Personal Prize

As a filmmaker, you will love to watch a film where you’ve been a part of it once. You’ll see the work you’ve done and your team. While recalling all the efforts and time you have given to put this into a frame.

Another side of the story…

• All that shine is not glamour

There are many unrewarding things done during film makings, such as working as an intern or assistant production. It drains, and frustrates you because this is not your job – you’re not paid for it. On the contrary, there are a variety of tasks performed in film production, which you can learn. It’s an important lesson for all the amateurs to take different experiences. So, if you’re new to the film industry, you may have to start from any of these jobs.

• Tough beginning

There are plenty of enthusiastic artists, but nobody can assure you about your success in the industry. The fact is you need to work hard and showcase your talent astoundingly to climb the ladder of success. You have to move in the right direction in the right place, which is something you can’t buy or learn. There is also a part of lady luck for blessings and courage. Try to start your career with average expectations to move calibrated in your career. However, nobody is stopping you from having dreams.

• Criticism

You might hear from too many people, however. You’ve to develop thick-skin. There will be your relatives, friends, and family, giving a hard time but don’t get annoyed to depressed. If you get discouraged, it will create impediments in your life to reach your final dream. It’s your responsibility to see tangible criticism and remain confident in your work. Only learning will grow you and master skills. However, many times, you have to face the insult or ranted.

• See Unconventional People

Conventionally, this can become a pro-argument point. But your opinion will depend on the people you generally meet and greet. Brace yourself to see weird people with weird traits. Don’t get awful or react to see them. Certainly, some actors do have arrogance because of the glamour received throughout their careers. They get angry in a bad mood. Don’t get violent or disturbed – just take a deep breath and forget it.

• Time taking

In the creative industry, you don’t work from 9 am to 5 pm. It doesn’t work in a dogma modus operandi. There are different phases of a project, where you have to work in the morning, afternoon, evening, and late at night. For example, if a film has to show the night scene, they will need to shoot in the night time.

Similarly, in the post-production, you’ve to do all the necessary editing and fine-tune film before it airs on the floor of the cinema. It goes hectic because the release date is too close, and things are still pending. Teams have to work day and night to accomplish the task on time.

Last Word

Working in the film industry is informative, interesting. If you have an answer to the following, a question, you must go into the film industry without thinking for a second:

1. Is the film industry your dream?

2. Are you willing to give your sweat and blood for the film industry?

3. Are you ready to get out of your routine comfort zone?

If you’ve sincere answers to the question, forget about the bad side of the filmmaking, continue to pursue your dreams.
