Why is Kin Shriner so vague with his tweets?

Many General Hospital fans are feeling like Tigger in the Winnie the Pooh cartoons this morning and saying "We have bounced this way before." This is because Kin Shriner who portrays Scott Baldwin on the ABC soap has yet again left his followers baffled by his wording. Viewers are scratching their heads and attempting to decipher Shriner's recent tweet. The veteran actor has been on and off the soap since 1977 and Soaps in Depth is reporting that on Tuesday evening he suggested that his run on GH may finally be over and he thanked his fans for their support.

In December 2021 Shriner tweeted something similar and fans believed he had been fired from General Hospital. They waited for a more detailed explanation but it never came and Shriner later posted about needing time for family and within a matter of months he was back on screen. In 2021 the actor said his time on General Hospital was ip which certainly sounded as though his contract was not being renewed but he returned.

Fans are wondering what to make of the situation

Shriner's fans are once again left to wonder if his recent tweet indicates he is just taking some time off from the soap or if he indeed will not return to General Hospital. It's possible that the actor does not intend for his posts to be purposefully misleading to fans and he may be taking a proactive approach to his current situation. Soap fans never know what is going on behind the scenes with the cast and the executives. Scott's portrayer could be letting his fans know that his current contract is up and there is no guarantee it will be renewed or that he will be asked back.

There seems to be a pattern so perhaps it's written into Shriner's contract that after working for so long he gets an extended break. Finola Hughes who portrays Anna Devane has it written into her contract that she takes the summer off every year and Genie Francis who plays Laura Collins leaves General Hospital near the end of each summer and returns in the fall. Both women have given interviews about their set up but Shriner has not offered any details which is why his fans are speculating.

General Hospital viewers will have to wait for answers

Scott Baldwin has been involved with several of the beautiful leading ladies in Port Charles including Bobbie Spencer (the late Jackie Zeman who recently passed away), Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), and Laura. GH viewers were delighted when he was paired with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and enjoyed their scenes together and the pet names they gave each other.

"Sciesl" fans were hoping to see the couple have a big reunion once Obrecht returned from Greenland but she is still frustrated with Scott. Perhaps if Kin Shriner does return at a later date this fan-favorite couple might finally have the time to make things right with each other. Obrecht is angry that Scott defended Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) who knew Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) was not the Hook Killer.

Liesl believes if Elizabeth had come forward sooner Heather Webber (Alley Mills) might have been arrested much quicker and her daughter Britta Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) would not have died. Shriner's exit will not give "Sciesl" fans the happy reunion they have been waiting for. Kin Shriner's fans can only wait to see if he reveals more about his current situation and continue watching General Hospital to see if he returns at some point in the future.
