General Hospital fans note the lack of romance between two popular couples
Viewers have been waiting in vain for steamy love scenes

General Hospital fans are asking "Where is the love" and are curious about the lack of romance between two popular Port Charles couples and desire answers.
Viewers have observed several changes since Steve Burton returned as Jason Morgan. His decision to walk away from mob life with Sonny Corinthos and devote more time to Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzn stunned all of Port Charles and many viewers.
Most noticeable is the downplayed relationship with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). When Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart) returned to Port Charles he and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) ran into each others arms and passionately kissed. This was not the case for Jason and Britt.
Burton was recently away from GH for about six months to spend time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom, whom he married on May 17, 2025. Before being sent to Steinmeier prison, Jason and Britt said "I love you" to each other.
Fans thought that once Jason was back in Port Charles, the two would spend some romantic time together. It's been over a month since Jason's return, and he and Britt have only kissed a few times.
They have not been alone together and have not been intimate (at least not onscreen). When they are together things seem awkward as if they are not sure how to proceed. Some fans wonder if Burton may have something in his contract about not playing hot love scenes since he remarried. Two of his castmates have also toned down the romance.

Amanda Setton (Brooke Lynn Quartermaine) and Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase) reportedly don't want to do racy love scenes because they are married off-screen).
Swickard has no problem showing off his well-toned body in shorts and swim trunks, but Setton does not wear revealing clothing because of her Jewish faith.
Some fans say the actors should do whatever the scenes call for, while others applaud the actors setting boundaries. Whatever the reason, Jason and Britt have not hit the sheets; many GH viewers are invested in the couple.
Others say they believe Britt will fall for Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Gayer). At this time, Dr. Westbourne seems annoyed with him because of his WSB connections. This is a soap so everything could change.
Do General Hospital viewers have the right to be upset if some cast members don't want to show their skin and have simulated sex? Is it wrong to respect a husband or wife and not want your body in suggestive situations even if it is acting?
Soap fans across the board have complained that daytime is looking more like soft porn. When Albert Alarr was the executive producer of Days of Our Lives, men and women were scantily clad, sex scenes were over the top, and there was a threesome.
Once Alarr was fired, Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) said he hoped DOOL would return to being a family show again. Will General Hospital fans as a whole embrace the actors who choose not to do steamy love scenes, or is that what most soap fans tune in for?
Chase and Brooklynn never have a dull moment in the Quartermaine home. Things have become more interesting since they adopted baby Phoebe Chase, (Lucia & Luna Creighton) and Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) is back living in the Gatehouse.
Jason and Britt are not involved in any front-burner storylines at this point, so it's not clear what will keep them busy without love scenes. Steve Burton has not addressed this issue, so those who enjoy General Hospital will have to continue watching and see what happens with Britt and Jason and Chase and Brooke Lynn.
