Fuze begins like a tense bomb-disposal thriller, but slowly transforms into a complicated heist story filled with betrayals, fake diamonds and hidden alliances. For most of the movie, Major Will Tranter appears to be the man desperately trying to save London from a devastating explosion.

The ending reveals something completely different.

The bomb was never simply an unfortunate discovery. The evacuation, the blackout and even much of the chaos surrounding the explosive were pieces of a much larger plan.

And Will was not trying to stop that plan.

He was one of the people behind it.

What Happens at the Beginning of Fuze?

The story begins at a construction site in London, where workers digging underground discover an enormous bomb.

Police immediately contact bomb-disposal expert Major Will Tranter.

After examining the situation, Will warns that the device could cause catastrophic damage. To make matters worse, authorities discover that the city's main power infrastructure lies beneath the area.

The surrounding buildings are evacuated and electricity is disconnected.

Almost everyone leaves.

However, four men remain secretly inside one apartment.

Their decision to stay is not accidental.

While police and military personnel concentrate on the bomb, the four men enter the basement wearing uniforms that make them appear like legitimate workers. They begin cutting through a wall.

On the other side is a bank.

The supposed bomb emergency has created the perfect opportunity for a robbery.

Karalis and His Crew Use the Bomb Scare to Rob the Bank

Karalis and his partners have carefully prepared for the evacuation.

With electricity disconnected across the area, they use their own generator to power cutting equipment and begin breaking through several layers protecting the bank vault.

Even when the bank alarm activates, nobody immediately suspects a robbery. Police assume that the blackout and emergency conditions have caused a technical malfunction.

That misunderstanding gives the thieves exactly what they need: time.

Eventually, they penetrate the final steel barrier and enter the bank's main vault.

They spray the security cameras and begin emptying valuable lockers. Cash, jewellery and other valuables are collected.

But Karalis is interested in something much more important.

He knows about a particular box containing uncut diamonds.

These diamonds are supposedly worth around $30 million.

Karalis quietly takes the box, but another member of the team, known as X, notices him and reminds him that nobody is supposed to keep anything personally.

This moment becomes extremely important later.

Why Was the Bomb So Suspicious?

Meanwhile, Will and the bomb squad continue working on the explosive.

At first, it appears to be an old bomb buried underground for decades.

But one officer notices something strange.

Part of the bomb looks old and corroded, while its lower section looks surprisingly new.

Will dismisses the observation, suggesting that construction machinery may have scratched the surface.

It is one of the first major clues that Will knows more than he is admitting.

The situation becomes even more dangerous when Will discovers that the bomb contains a functioning timer.

He temporarily stops it using a magnetic device, but nobody knows how long the solution will work.

Eventually, the timer starts moving again.

Will then suggests another method of delaying the explosion while emergency teams work to contain its potential impact.

The ending reveals that this appearance was carefully manufactured.

How Does the Bank Robbery Get Discovered?

The thieves almost escape without attracting attention.

Their mistake comes from the equipment they are using.

Even though electricity has been disconnected across the evacuated zone, police detect unexplained heat signatures.

One comes from the bomb site.

Another appears inside the supposedly empty apartment building.

Chief Superintendent Zuzana Greenfield sends officers to investigate.

Karalis realizes police are approaching and tells the others to abandon the operation.

The thieves escape in different directions.

Some head toward a vehicle while others take the stolen valuables to the roof and attach them to a drone. The drone carries the loot away while the men use underground sewer routes to escape police.

At almost the same time, the bomb finally explodes.

Because the surrounding area has already been evacuated and emergency personnel have moved to safer positions, the explosion does not cause the mass casualties everyone feared.

Soon afterward, police discover the damaged walls leading directly into the bank vault.

Zuzana finally understands the connection.

The bomb scare was used as cover for a massive robbery.

What Happens to the $30 Million Diamonds?

After escaping London, Karalis and the surviving robbery team reach a safe house.

Karalis finally opens the special box.

Inside are uncut diamonds supposedly worth approximately $30 million.

Because the stones have never been cut, Karalis explains that tracing them would be extremely difficult.

For a moment, it seems the robbery has succeeded.

Then everything goes wrong.

Karalis secretly contacts someone outside the group.

Soon, armed gangsters led by Ludo attack the safe house and capture the robbers.

X realizes Karalis has betrayed them.

Karalis had already made a separate arrangement with Ludo: Ludo would receive most of the stolen material while Karalis kept the diamonds.

But Ludo decides he wants part of the diamonds as well.

The argument escalates until Ludo strikes one of the stones with a heavy object.

Instead of surviving the blow like a real diamond should, it breaks into powder.

The truth becomes obvious.

The diamonds are fake.

Neither Karalis nor Ludo understands where the genuine stones went.

Rahim Secretly Has the Real Diamonds

The answer comes through one of the movie's biggest twists.

Rahim initially appears to be nothing more than a resident of the evacuated building. He lives there with his elderly parents and had access to the basement.

When police question him, Rahim explains that people claiming to be from the water department had previously presented official documents, which is why they obtained access.

His explanation sounds believable.

It is also incomplete.

Rahim was secretly part of the plan.

During the robbery, Karalis had already separated the genuine diamonds from the fake ones.

Instead of allowing the real diamonds to travel with the drone, he hid them inside a chimney on the building's roof.

The box transported away during the robbery contained fake stones.

After the chaos dies down, Rahim returns to the roof, retrieves the box containing the genuine diamonds and hides it inside his luggage.

He then heads to the airport and leaves the country.

This explains why Ludo ends up with worthless stones.

The real $30 million prize was never with Karalis after the robbery.

Was Major Will Tranter Behind the Bomb?

Yes.

This is the central twist of the Fuze ending.

After the explosion, further examination reveals that the bomb was not actually an untouched World War II explosive as initially believed.

It had been constructed recently using military-grade components.

That discovery changes the entire investigation.

The officer who had earlier noticed the bomb's unusually clean section investigates further and discovers another important clue involving the timer.

The system could be remotely manipulated, and Will had the necessary control over it.

Will was not simply responding to the bomb.

He helped create the entire bomb scenario.

His position as the bomb-disposal expert gave the conspiracy a huge advantage.

He could control how police interpreted the explosive, influence how long the evacuation continued and keep everyone focused on the bomb while Karalis and the others entered the bank.

The man presented as one of London's protectors was secretly one of the masterminds of the robbery.

Why Does Will Kill X and the Other Robbers?

After Karalis is taken away by Ludo, X manages to escape captivity.

X had already suspected Karalis might betray the crew, so he had secretly placed a GPS tracker among Karalis's belongings.

X frees the other robbers and follows the signal to Ludo's location.

They attack the gangsters and rescue Karalis.

But they have no intention of forgiving him.

X and the others begin suffocating Karalis with plastic as punishment for betraying them.

Before they can kill him, a bullet suddenly hits X.

The remaining robbers are also killed.

Their attacker is Will.

This confirms beyond any doubt that Will is part of the conspiracy.

The expendable robbery crew has served its purpose. Allowing them to survive would create witnesses capable of exposing the larger scheme.

Karalis, however, is part of Will's real inner circle.

How Does Zuzana Discover the Connection?

Zuzana's investigation gradually connects the three masterminds.

Police identify Karalis through security footage and discover his previous involvement with diamond-related crime.

Then investigators uncover Will's manipulation of the bomb.

Finally, Rahim becomes the missing link.

Zuzana learns that Will and Rahim already knew each other.

Years earlier, when Will served in Afghanistan, Rahim worked as his local translator.

The connection makes everything clear.

Will, Karalis and Rahim were not three strangers who happened to become involved in the same emergency.

They were working together.

By the time authorities understand the full conspiracy, however, all three men are already escaping.

Karalis obtains a new passport and leaves the country.

Will escapes using a private helicopter.

Police raid Will's home and discover evidence connected to bomb construction, but they are too late to capture him.

Why Were Will, Karalis and Rahim Working Together?

The final flashback explains the origin of their partnership.

Years earlier in Afghanistan, Karalis was being transported by men connected to a previous diamond operation after being betrayed by his employer.

Around the same time, Will and Rahim were returning from a mission when they became trapped inside an area filled with landmines.

An explosion creates an opportunity for Karalis to escape.

The three men eventually end up trapped together.

Rahim fights off attackers while Will and Karalis work together to disable the explosives surrounding them.

Their cooperation saves all three lives.

The dangerous experience creates a bond between them.

Karalis later explains that he wants revenge against the people who betrayed him and dreams of carrying out a huge robbery that would make them wealthy in a single operation.

Years later, that idea finally becomes reality.

Fuze Ending Explained: Who Actually Wins?

Despite everything that happens, the three original conspirators effectively succeed.

Rahim escapes with the genuine diamonds.

Karalis escapes using a new identity.

Will leaves before investigators can arrest him.

Later, the three reunite in Turkey.

The diamonds can finally be sold and the money divided between them.

The apparent chaos throughout the movie suddenly makes sense.

The bomb was not simply a distraction invented by Karalis's robbery crew.

It was part of a far more sophisticated operation involving someone inside the military response itself.

Will could make the threat look legitimate.

Karalis could organize the physical bank robbery.

Rahim could remain hidden in plain sight and safely remove the genuine diamonds after everyone else had attracted police attention.

Even the fake diamonds functioned as another layer of protection.

If Karalis's temporary criminal partners or Ludo betrayed him, they would fight over stones that were worthless anyway.

What Does the Ending of Fuze Really Mean?

The biggest trick in Fuze is not the bank robbery.

It is the movie's manipulation of whom the audience trusts.

Will spends most of the story appearing responsible, calm and heroic. Every decision he makes seems motivated by the need to protect civilians from an unpredictable bomb.

Once his involvement is revealed, those earlier scenes take on a completely different meaning.

His dismissal of suspicious details surrounding the bomb is no longer simple professional confidence.

His control over the timer is no longer just technical expertise.

And the evacuation itself becomes part of the robbery.

Karalis is presented as the obvious criminal, which helps hide the fact that the larger operation has another mastermind standing directly beside the authorities.

Rahim provides the final layer of deception. Because he appears to be an ordinary resident worried about his elderly parents, almost nobody views him as a serious suspect.

That is exactly why he becomes the perfect person to walk away with the most valuable part of the robbery.

By the end of Fuze, the police understand what happened but reach the truth too late.

Will, Karalis and Rahim survive, escape and reunite with the fortune they planned to steal years earlier.

The bomb may have exploded in London, but the real weapon behind the heist was deception.
