Creators are planning a reboot for the hit TV show Frasier. However, it is difficult to recast the most successful and iconic sitcom TV show. Still, fans would love to watch what the team has to offer them. Audiences would love to watch the comeback of the old cast, which seems impossible. The series needs to shape into a modernized theme to make its place again. And one of the original cast John Mahoney who played the iconic character of Martin Crane, is sadly no more with us.

David Lee, David Angell, and Peter Casey created the American sitcom TV-series Frasier in 1993. The show concluded on 13 May 2004. The series was critically acclaimed, and the cast received thirty-seven Primetime Emmy Awards. It also got the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for five years.

The team is discussing the reboot of the series, which was initially planned to air in 2020. However, they haven’t yet revealed the name of the cast. In this article, we tried to list some A-listed actors and actresses who would be perfect for the role if they got a chance to audition for the iconic characters.

David Harbour As Frasier

Fans are waiting to hear the iconic phrase “I’m listening” from David Harbour. He would be a perfect actor to play the opera-loving, tweed-clad, superb radio psychiatrist, and one of the most interesting characters in the sitcom culture.

David Kenneth Harbour is known for his incredible performance as Jim Hopper in the Netflix sci-fi show Stranger Things. He also featured in films like Quantum of Solace, Brokeback Mountain, The Equalizer, End of Watch, Black Mass, the title character in Hellboy, and many more.

Harbour has won the Critics’ Choice Television Award and has been nominated for Golden Globe Award and Primetime Emmy Award.

Harbour would easily make the character of Frasier his own. He is a terrific actor and is pro in performing a wide range of characters. Harbour is one of the actors who can oscillate between two extreme roles in Hellboy and Netflix’s mockumentaries.

Jim Parsons As Niles

Jim Parsons has played the fastidious, snobby, neurotic doctor Sheldon Cooper in Big Bang Theory for over a decade. So playing the character of Niles would be an easy task for him. The Nile’s character in Frasier has many layers in it. He was intolerable sometimes, but he was a family man and a loyal friend.

Parsons received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy Series. He also won four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Sheldon Cooper. Fans can see him in a supporting role in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, and Hidden Figures.

Parsons is one of the actors who can do justice to Niles’ character. Nile’s hopeless crush on his dad’s housekeeper and his unconditional love for wife Maris. He can hold the show for years by maintaining the same interesting factor as David Hyde Pierce did.

Ed O’Neill As Martin

Ed O’Neill is an American comedian and actor and is known for his character Al Bundy on the sitcom Married… with Children. He is nominated for two Golden Globes for his role as Al Bundy. O’Neill got three nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards and won four Screen Actors Guild Awards for his role as Jay Pritchett in Modern Family.

Martin’s character was one of the fans’ favorite characters. In an ideal world, John Mahoney would be the only one who would have reprised Frasier’s reboot. However, O’Neill could also sleepwalk through the character of Martin Crane. He could make the best replacement as ex-cop. Martin is a patriarch, who wants his pet dog, a comfortable couch, and is afraid of discovering much about his children’s sex lives.

O’Neill also appeared in Little Giants, The Bone Collector, Wayne’s World film series, and Sun Dogs. He has voiced for Finding Dory and Wreck-It Ralph.

Taraji P. Henson As Roz

Taraji P. Henson began her career as a guest role on TV shows before getting her first break in the film Baby Boy. She got praised for her character as a prostitute in the 2005 film Hustle & Flow. In 2008 she received the prestigious Academy Award, Critics Choice Award, and SAG Award for her brilliant performance in David Fincher’s fantasy romantic drama The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

This talented actress should play the character of Roz. In the spin-off or reboot series, Frasier, Henson is the only one who can soulfully play the role of the breezy and colorful life of a radio producer.

Frasier and Roz’s friendship has grown more than the professional confines, and it provides a better goal of friendship. Henson herself is a free spirit woman who is self-reliant and lives her life on her terms, and hence she is ideal for Roz’s character.

Emilia Clarke As Daphne

Emilia Clarke is known for her popular TV show character as Daenerys or Mother of Dragon. Fans would love to see her in Frasier’s housekeeper and physical therapist’s character. Martin and Daphne develop a great friendship between them, and the audience wants to see their chemistry on-screen.

Clarke got her prominent breakthrough from the HBO’s show Game of Thrones as Daenerys Targaryen. She also received several awards, including four nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards. She featured in the list of Top 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.

Emilia also has experience of playing medical assistance as Louisa in the movie Me Before You. She is the best choice who can justify the need for Daphne’s character.

The above are few actors who can be considered for the reboot series of Frasier. The fans of the show are impatiently waiting for any details regarding the series. Hopefully, they will soon get some updates from the team and the studio.
