A few of my favorites to add to your fall favorites

Gloomy days in fall are some of the best days. There’s something to be said about having a favorite fall themed beverage, getting a comfy on the couch, and looking for something to watch. Cloudy skies can be perfect to watch a movie or a TV show that matches the atmosphere outside. Some people prefer some thing scary to watch during fall, and some people just wanna watch something easy-going during fall. There’s no wrong answer with what they find enjoyable to make their fall absolutely perfect.

Over the years there has been a lot of interesting additions that people have mentioned for what they enjoy to watch during fall, I have a couple of favorites I’d like to share.

1. Preacher

Preacher was a show that ran from 2016 to 2019 and it was a hell of a time having a show that is southern Gothic, western, horror, drama, and comedy.

If you’re OK with a morbid sense of humor, you’re gonna like the show.

It’s a show that has a little bit of everything, It has vampires, it has battling angels, it has a gun toting preacher. It’s not your typical horror show which makes it a little bit easier to watch but you don’t have to watch it specifically for the horror. There are many elements of the show that does make it easy to watch to be entertained by, and it’s artistically pleasing as well with the many uses of red and yellow and orange colors.

If you’re looking for a show that has a little bit of everything when you can’t decide what genre to watch, this might just be the show for you to watch during the fall.

2. Sleepy Hollow

If you want a Gothic movie. It’s a great thrilling movie while you’re chilling.

Sleepy hollow is more than just a retelling of Ichabod Crane’s terrifying encounter with the headless horseman. Its a hammer horror movie, a hammer horror movie goes out of his way to make the blood very bright to derive it from what would be a truly horrifying scene makes it artistic. It’s a clever callback to that age of horror movies that I wanted to make terrifying scenes very artistic whereas horror movies today make the blood very accurate. Once you know that, it makes you appreciate sleepy hollow all the better, but it also makes it interesting to watch during the fall with all of the monochromatic palate of colors. But this movie feels it’s bringing old with the new. The atmosphere is mysterious and entertaining. It’s the kind of movie that doesn’t make you scared, it makes you engage into the story and want to know more to the mystery.

3. Practical Magic

I think there’s a law somewhere that says I have to talk about this movie for this list. Practical Magic is more than just a witch movie, it has elements of mystery and fantasy that make it a fun Halloween movie but then the strong drama part does make this a relatable movie about grief and strong family ties. It’s hard not to fall in love with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock playing these witches, you don’t need a spell to be enchanted by them.

4. Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktacular

If you don’t know what scary godmother is, that’s OK. Its an obscure children’s book that became a made for TV Halloween special on Cartoon Network. It had a short-lived runtime, but it does have a silent legacy. The animation is a bit bizarre, but that only adds to the charm. It sort of feels like a Tim Burton movie if it was extremely watered down for kids. It’s a great movie just to watch a different kind of animated movie. It’s an enjoyable movie that makes a new twist on memorable monsters like skeletons, vampires, werewolves, and the bogeyman. This movie is the textbook definition of scares that care.

Enjoy the movies and TV shows and have a happy fall 🧡
