Emo Werewolf

Maybe it was because Patton loved cuddles, maybe it was because he was making up for the fact that they couldn't have dogs in the apartment, but whenever Patton fell asleep, he found himself imagining he was snuggling to a being with soft fur. At least, he thought he was imagining.

The truth is, his crush and roommate, Virgil Simmons, left the apartment claiming to leave for a night job only to climb back into his bedroom window and hide in his closet as his transformation occurred. He still felt pains from switching anatomies, but he learned to get used to it. By the time he got out of the bathroom, he was able jump onto his bed and see a wolf look back at him from his dresser mirror. He could hear the sweet sounds of Patton's soft snores through the walls and softly walked to his roommate's room. He leapt onto Patton's bed and snuggled against him.

Every night, Virgil enjoyed cuddling with Patton, but always wished that things would be easier for him. If he wasn't scared of being judged in one way or another, he would be able to find other times to officially ask Patton if they could cuddle. If he wasn't scared of being rejected, they could probably do more than just a platonic cuddle. If he wasn't scared of Patton being scared of him, he'd reveal that the emo werewolf has a crush on him.

One Friday, Patton went to get the mail for both of them and thought it was slightly odd for Virgil to have a paycheck from Hot Topic, his day job, but not from another job as well. He wanted to call to see if the company made a mistake, but he realized that he didn't even know what Virgil's night job was. He silently brought the mail in since he didn't want to put Virgil on the spot in case he was embarrassed by whatever job he had or in case he just wanted to be alone. That night, Virgil told Patton that he was headed for work and, as much as Patton wanted to pry, he didn't want to overwhelm his crush with too many questions. That being said, he just told the emo "good night" and got himself ready for bed. He wished he could do more to get Virgil to trust him, but he decided that good things came to those who wait.

That night, Patton woke up without much memory of his dream. He slowly woke up and recognized the soft fur that he always thought he imagined. He sat up slowly and gently stroked the fur. He started to wonder if he adopted a dog in his sleep, but then he grabbed his phone to use as a flashlight and waved it at the furry entity. He recognized that it was a wolf, but didn't know where it came from. He didn't want to wake the wolf, so he didn't move too much. The wolf snuggled closer to Patton in his sleep and Patton could detect the scent of Nightmare Before Christmas Bone Daddy Cologne, just like what Virgil liked to brag about spraying on himself without his manager knowing. Patton took the opportunity to cuddle with the wolf while pretending his face was buried in Virgil's hair.

The next morning, Virgil was human again, but he felt Patton's face in his hair. He froze since he didn't know if it meant Patton saw him in his wolf form or if it was a coincidence. Patton squirmed until he woke up and saw Virgil was in his arms where the wolf initially was.

"Uhh, Virgil?" Patton said without knowing what else to say.

"Patton, um, there are some things I think you should know," Virgil awkwardly shared.

After half an hour, Patton looked at Virgil with fascination and Virgil looked down with shame.

"Well, that explains why I smelled your cologne on the wolf," Patton broke the ice.

Virgil chuckled before he blushed.

"I wish you told me sooner. I wouldn't mind cuddling you and kissing your nose and fur if you'd let me," Patton assured Virgil as his own face turned red.

"Wait, do you really want to?" Virgil wanted to confirm.

"Of course. I've wanted to do so since the first two months we lived together. Although, it was always more of kissing you," Patton admitted.

Virgil smiled and pounced into Patton's embrace. Patton found the freedom to kiss Virgil's bare skin while holding the emo. Virgil felt glad that his worries were for naught.
